The NFL announced it will reinforce security tomorrow for all games after terrorist attacks in Paris left hundreds dead and wounded.

Games will be hosted in 13 cities including in California, New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

America has been on high alert since extremist stormed Paris on Friday killing and injuring concert-goers, cafe diners and soccer fans in a series of orchestrated shootings and killings.

The NFL is imposing a clear bag policy and urged that fans must bring a bag or keep items in transparent material.

There is no known threat against the stadiums the NFL wrote in a statement noting they had been in communication with the FBI and Department of Homeland Security. Security presence will be increased both inside and outside the stadium, the statement said.

Cities nationwide, including Philadelphia, stood united behind France Saturday as the country reeled from the deadly terrorist rampage in Paris late Friday that left at least 129 dead and 352 others wounded.

A vigil organized by the Consulate General of France in Philadelphia as well as several French cultural and civic groups was held at 8 p.m. Saturday at Love Park in Center City. Organizers said the purpose of the event is to “show support and solidarity” for Paris.

During the vigil attendees sang the French national anthem. Many people in the crowd have strong ties to France and vowed to stand with the country.

"Show our strength against these people who are monsters, savages, who have no respect for human life," said Alexander Cramer, who grew up in France.

Another separate vigil for Paris took place at Love Park around 6 p.m. Saturday, according to the “Stand with Paris, Philly Love” Facebook page.

Philly.com also reports a vigil will take place Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the French International School of Philadelphia on 150 N. Highland Avenue in Bala Cynwyd.

Several buildings in Philadelphia also lit up in the colors of the French flag in a tribute to Paris, including the Lit Brothers building on 8th and Market streets.

Some local travelers who were in Paris during Friday's horrific terror attacks arrived at Philadelphia International Airport Saturday night shaken, but relieved to be home.

The travelers reflected on the devastating coordinated attacks that struck Paris, killing 129 people and wounding more than 350 others.

"There were lines of ambulances. At times, there were eight to 10 ambulances," recounted Chester County native George Gary, who was out at a restaurant in Paris during the attacks.

Gary said when the violence erupted, they locked the doors to the restaurant and hid inside.

"It was hard," another local woman who arrived home from Paris Saturday said. "Mostly I'm saddened for the lives that were lost."

Elsewhere in Philadelphia, buildings lit up with the colors of Paris' flag and a memorial of flowers and candles grew on Benjamin Franklin Parkway underneath France's flag.

Near the memorial, Emily Bliss, who was visiting Philadelphia and has relatives in Paris, said she was in shock.

"I was truly shocked to learn that happened to innocent people in a wonderful country that has great camaraderie and compassion for other cities," Bliss said.

Bliss said her family members have been accounted for and are safe.

A New Jersey woman who was steps away from the site of one of Friday's devastating attacks in Paris said she's counting her blessings after she and her friends escaped the carnage safely.

"When I woke up this morning, I just looked to the sky and I just thanked God," Jessica Ross, 30, told NBC10's Jim Rosenfield. "God brought us to see another day, and we can process everything that's taken place.

A group of Ross' friends from New Jersey were visiting her in Paris when the coordinated terror attacks rocked the city and the world. The friends were dining at a restaurant close to the site of one of the assaults and said they hid in the basement for safety.

"It could've been us," Ross, who moved from Willingboro to Paris a few weeks ago, said. "We were right there."

Ross said she and her friends are still in shock after the violent massacre, which claimed the lives of at least 129 people and wounded more than 350 others at various sites in and around Paris.

"Your heart just goes out to everyone who was affected and the people who lost family members," Ross said. "Thank God he spared our lives."

NFL stadiums around the United States are tightening security on Sunday following Friday's devastating terror attack in Paris that left more than 120 people dead and at least 350 wounded.

The Stade de France, a soccer stadium just outside Paris, was among the targets of the attacks.

On Sunday, NFL officials said that out of an abundance of caution, they would tighten security at football stadiums around the United States, including Lincoln Financial Field, where the Eagles will face the Miami Dolphins at 1 p.m.

[[349886451, C]]

In a statement, NFL officials said there have not been any known threats to stadiums in the U.S.

"We are closely monitoring events and have been in communication with the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, which have informed us that there are no known threats against any NFL stadiums," the statement read.

[[349880301, C]]

Game attendees may carry only clear plastic bags with their belongings into the stadium to expedite security, NBC10's Monique Braxton reports. No large backpacks or bags will be allowed into stadiums, and clear plastic bags must be no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches -- about the size of a gallon freezer bag.

Sunday is also the Eagles' Salute to Service day, meaning hundreds of veterans will be in attendance at the game. A moment of silence is planned during the game for the victims of the Paris attacks.

Babies' Bodies Found Dumped in Philadelphia Lot

The bodies of two babies were found in a weeded lot in North Philadelphia and police are investigating.

Police say 9-year-old Kasime Crawford and another child found the baby boy and girl lying in a patch of grass next to a used-car lot on Mutter Street near Montgomery Avenue Saturday night. Crawford told NBC10 he thought they were toys at first.

"Both of their faces were blue," Crawford said. "There's a doll baby. That's when it started stinking and that's when we checked and there was a baby. I went home and told my dad."

[[349947061, C]]

Residents returned to the lot Sunday morning and found the bodies. They then called police. The babies were pronounced dead at the lot by medics at 10:31 a.m., police said. Investigators said both of the infants had cuts on them while one had a clamp attached to the umbilical cord.

"They were just thrown away like trash," said Stephanie Farrell who lives near where the babies were found.

[[349980461, C]]

While processing the scene, the Medical Examiner discovered the bodies had an autopsy performed on them by unidentified medical personnel at an unknown time. Investigators have not yet determined how or when the babies died. They also have not yet determined how long they had been in the lot before they were found.

"You shouldn't throw little kids away," said Ronnie Jackson, Kasime's father. "You could've left them in the hospital, gave them to a charity, gave them to the fire department or knocked on my door and gave them to me."

Police later received information stating that people inside a black pickup truck with an unknown license plate were dumping trash on the highway near where the bodies were found. Officials are searching the area for possible surveillance video.

Zebras Escape from Circus, Lead Police on Chase

$

Two zebras escaped from a circus in West Philadelphia on Sunday, leading police on a wild chase for miles through the city.

The zebras, according to witness accounts, somehow got loose from the UniverSoul Circus outside the Mann Center for the Performing Arts, near 52nd Street and Parkside Avenue in Fairmount Park and ran out of the front gate.

Police Radio confirmed about 2 p.m. that zebras were loose in West Philadelphia and officers were trying to catch them.

"All I saw were two cops chasing the zebra, "said Rashad Smith, a witness. "We thought it was a horse."

Police sources said about 2:20 p.m. that one zebra had been caught and the second remained on the lam. The fleeing zebra, according to sources, made it up to City Avenue — more than two miles from where the animals escaped.

By about 2:40 p.m., the second fleeing zebra had been successfully caught, although the location where police finally stopped the zebra was not immediately clear.

There were no reports of any injuries to the animals or to any people, and it was unclear how the zebras escaped.

The UniverSoul Circus told NBC10 the animals were fine and they released a statement shortly after they were captured:

Two zebras briefly went on the loose from the UniverSoul Circus site today in Philadelphia, both have been safely corralled with no injuries. An investigation is currently underway.

The runaway zebras caused a frenzy on social media as witnesses posted videos, pictures and jokes about the animals. Even Philadelphia Police posted a lighthearted tweet after the animals were captured.

It was no laughing matter to animal rights activists however, who have been protesting the UniverSoul Circus, demanding that they stop using animal acts for entertainment.

"Oh it's not funny at all," said Marianne Bessey of the Animal ACTivists of Philly. "It's a really horrific experience for the zebras who probably saw a chance to escape and thought they were gonna maybe get some outside time instead of being inside a small pen. And instead they end up in traffic running and terrified."

Rachel Mathews, the PETA Foundation Counsel, also released a statement:

Yet again, animals have escaped a circus and been chased through a city they never should have been taken to in the first place. UniverSoul needs to retire its animal acts immediately, and all kind families should refuse to buy a ticket to any circus that exploits animals. PETA is asking the U.S. Department of Agriculture to investigate immediately to ensure that the animals are receiving veterinary care and have safe and proper enclosures.

Sunday was the UniverSoul Circus' last night in Philadelphia. Aside from the zebra incident the circus also made headlines in late October, after a trapeze artist fell three stories when his high-flying stunt went awry. He suffered a lower back injury but was eventually released from the hospital.

Miami Dolphins Beat Philadelphia Eagles

$

0

The Eagles and Sam Bradford took big hits on Sunday afternoon.

The starting quarterback was knocked out of the game in the third quarter after a hard hit and the Eagles couldn’t do enough with Mark Sanchez in the game to beat a depleted Dolphins team.

The Eagles lost to the Dolphins, 20-19, at Lincoln Financial Field.

Bradford was knocked out of the game in the third quarter on a hit from Dolphins linebacker Chris McCain. McCain simply beat right tackle Dennis Kelly and had a clear shot on Bradford. Bradford’s shoulder X-rays came back negative but he did suffer a concussion (see story).

With the loss, the Eagles fell to 4-5 and squandered a chance to have a winning record for the first time this season. The Dolphins improved to 4-5.

The Eagles drove down the field with a chance to take a lead late — 6:27 left to start the drive — but Mark Sanchez was intercepted by Reshad Jones in the end zone as he tried to get the ball to Miles Austin.

Sanchez and the Eagles got the ball back one more time with 1:40 on the clock but after a quick first down, the Eagles turned the ball over on downs.

The Dolphins were trailing at halftime but took their first lead on the first drive after Bradford left the game by way of an 87-yard touchdown drive.

First half
The Eagles, who have been plagued by slow starts this season, actually got off to a hot start against the Dolphins. They scored on their two possessions and picked up a safety when Walter Thurmond sacked Ryan Tannehill in the end zone and the ball popped out of bounds. The Eagles scored 16 points in the first quarter.

That hot start didn’t last.

The Birds had a chance to put more points on the board early in the second quarter but Caleb Sturgis missed a short field goal.

In the middle of the second quarter, Donnie Jones had a punt blocked when Chris Maragos was moved out of the way by Dolphins linebacker Zach Virgil. The Dolphins got the ball on the Eagles’ 12-yard line and scored a touchdown two plays later.

The halftime score was Eagles 16, Dolphins 13.

Dolphins mistakes

The Dolphins gave the Eagles plenty of help Sunday. The Fins weren’t able to fall on the Sam Bradford fumble near the Eagles’ goal line. Then, after the punt, Jarvis Landry was called for a taunting penalty, which backed the Dolphins up even farther. The Dolphins had a chance to take a lead but squandered the opportunity.

In the third quarter, on a ball that looked like it wasn’t going to be caught, Miami CB Zack Bowman was called on defensive pass interference.

Turning point
On the drive after Bradford was knocked out of the game, the Dolphins drove down the field on an 87-yard touchdown drive to take the lead. The touchdown came on a play where Ryan Tannehill’s pass was batted by Eagles outside linebacker Connor Barwin.

Key stat
Coming into Sunday, the Eagles had managed just 10 first-quarter points in their first eight games. They scored 16 in the first quarter against the Dolphins.

Offensive stud
Brent Celek hasn’t been used much in the pass game but had a big performance Sunday. In the first half, he had three catches for 120 yards. It was the eighth 100-yard game of his career. He had just 71 yards receiving all season coming into the game. He finished with four catches for 134 yards.

Offensive dud

The Eagles’ offensive line did a good job last week against the Cowboys but struggled some against the Dolphins and the 31st ranked run defense in the league.

Defensive stud
Mychal Kendricks started to look like the 2014 version against the Dolphins. His speed is what makes him a difference-maker.

Defensive dud
Malcolm Jenkins missed an interception in the first half and then couldn’t stop Jarvis Landry from catching a touchdown in the second half after a ball was batted in the air by Barwin.

Injuries

Bradford left the game in the third quarter to get shoulder X-rays that came back negative. He did suffer a concussion on the play.

Running back Ryan Mathews was knocked out of the game with a concussion.

Left tackle Jason Peters was inactive for the second straight game. He has a pinched nerve that’s causing pain in his quad. Peters worked out before the game but was inactive.

Dolphins starting cornerback Brent Grimes missed the game with an illness. He was a surprise inactive.

Up next

The Eagles will get to stay at home again next week to face Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Then, they’ll have a quick turnaround to head to Detroit to face the Lions on Thanksgiving.
