A man has been charged in the slashing of a young woman's face along the Schuylkill River Trail in Center City Thursday afternoon, police said.

Isiah Cheeseboro, 29, was arrested Friday after being positively identified by the victim, police said. He's charged with aggravated assault and related offenses.

Police said Cheeseboro followed the 24-year-old victim as she walked west on the trail around 3 p.m. Thursday. He allegedly approached her as she climbed the steps at the 2400 block of Walnut Street and said "you don't know anything" before slashing the woman across the forehead with a sharp object.

The woman suffered a three inch cut and was taken to Penn Presbyterian Trauma Center for treatment. She's expected to be fine.

A motive for the slashing was not immediately known.

The attack is the latest in a string of safety issues along the popular riverside tract. A community watch is being organized to provide a layer of additional security on the trail. Organizers say it should be up and running by the end of June.

Eagles WR Agholor Accused of Sexual Assault: Sources

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor is being investigated by police for an alleged sexual assault, police sources tell NBC10.

Sources said a 27-year-old dancer accused the football player of assaulting her at Cheerleader’s Gentlemen’s Club on Front Street in South Philadelphia on Thursday.

A Philadelphia Police spokesman did not name Agholor, but confirmed the investigation was underway. The player has yet to be questioned, the spokesman said.

Fortunato Perri, Jr., Agholor’s attorney, said the 23-year-old “has not been involved in any criminal activity whatsoever.”

Philadelphia Eagles spokesman Derek Boyko said the team is aware of the investigation.

“The organization has been in contact with Nelson and with the proper authorities in Philadelphia. Because of the legal nature of this matter, we will have no further comment,” he said in a statement.

Fellow Eagles Connor Barwin and Fletcher Cox were at the club as well. In separate statements, both said they were not involved in the alleged incident.

Barwin said he had no knowledge of what happened and only stopped by for a half hour before leaving. Cox tweeted he wanted to "make it clear" he was not involved.

Agholor was drafted by the team in 2015. He played in college for the University of Southern California.

New Wine Law Not So Great, Distributor Says

A law heralded by lawmakers as easing state restrictions on selling wine in Pennsylvania was approved this week, clearing the way for "by-the-bottle" licenses for hundreds of businesses that already sell beer.

That means a long list of grocery stores, hotels and restaurants.

But if the consumer thinks that means better prices are on the way, not so fast, according to Jason Malumed, a partner with MFW Wine Co., which imports and distributes in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York.

The biggest problem to cheaper wine -- and alcohol, in general -- is the middle man remains: the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

Malumed stopped by NBC10.com on Friday to talk about what still needs to be done if Pennsylvania wine lovers are going to get the best prices and easiest access to good vino. Here's his interview.

Camden Police Save 200 Lives

Two hundred people have been brought back from the brink of death by the men and women in the Camden County Metro Police Department using the overdose reversal drug naloxone, the department announced this week.

The 200th save was made Tuesday night by Officer Michael Treadway. When Treadway came upon the victim at 4th and York streets, the man was barely breathing, police said.

A quick shot of naloxone, commonly known by its commercial name of Narcan, had the man awake and responsive by the time he was wheeled into Cooper University Hospital's emergency room, police said.

It's a common story for those saved by the drug which is typically delivered through a nasal spray.

This spring, NBC10 profiled Camden police's lifesaving use of the drug as part of Generation Addicted, an in-depth investigation into the area's deadly heroin and opioid epidemic.

In the special presentation, Officer Tyrell Bagby explained how he saved more than a dozen lives in a short two years on the force.

"I have one of those great chances to say I haven't taken a life, I've saved 16 lives," he said.

The opioid epidemic continues to explode in the region and across the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports more than 47,000 died from drug overdoses last year and half were from opioids -- that's heroin, fentanyl and prescription painkillers like OxyContin and Percocet.

So far this year in Camden, 21 people died by drug overdose, city officials said. That's already half of the number of people who died last year.

Two-thirds of the 195 people who overdosed in Camden this year did not live in the city, officials said.

Camden County police deployed naloxone in May 2014. The department and county have since begun offering those who've been saved by naloxone the immediate chance to go into a 30 day drug treatment. The program called Operation SAL (Save a Life) is named after Sal DiRenzo, a Blackwood man who died of a drug overdose in 2010.

His mother, Patty, and sister, Blake, also shared his story in Generation Addicted.

A man and woman were arrested after heroin was found inside a baby’s crib in a New Jersey home, according to investigators.

Police say a narcotics investigation led to a search of 23-year-old Antonio Hedgepeth II’s home on the 1700 block of Red Oak Road in Williamstown, New Jersey Friday. While searching through the home as well as a vehicle, police found 29 bags of heroin, 24 prescription pills and drug paraphernalia, including digital scales, 400 new and unused heroin wax folds and $858.00 in US currency, officials said.

Police say they also found drug paraphernalia on the floor of the bedroom where Hedgepeth and Jessica Ayers, 20, slept with an infant child. The drug paraphernalia was easily accessible to any child or infant inside the room and three pink wax folds containing heroin were found in a baby’s crib, according to officials.

Both Hedgepeth and Ayers were arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of prescription legend drugs. Hedgepeth was also charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. He was also wanted out of Gloucester County for an alleged violation of probation and had multiple warrants, investigators said.

Hedgepeth was lodged at the Salem County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 full cash bail while Ayers was lodged at the Salem County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash bail. The Division of Child Protection and Permanency was notified and is cooperating with police.

Philly PD Creates 'Running Man' Meme to End All Memes

The Philadelphia police department took the viral video to a whole new level when it posted what amounts to a Frankenstein version of Internet memes — combining the contagious "Running Man" web sensation with Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

They stirred it all together, creating a mockumentary of the viral genre.

The 11 minute, 33-second video posted to the department's Facebook page was written by the PPD's social media guru, Sgt. Eric Gripp, who has become somewhat of a sensation in Philly the last couple years for his absurdist posts. (Who can forget his space cyborg as part of the PPD's #NoSavesies campaign early last year?)

The "Running Man" spoof begins with police Commissioner Richard Ross demanding that the department answer the challenges of other big-city departments that have called Philly out. Dancing inevitably ensues, from officers breaking it down on the Art Museum steps to members of the water rescue unit emerging from the Delaware River in scuba gear and strutting their stuff.

Those with the attention span to watch the entire 11 and a half minutes are rewarded with some great comedy in the second half and even after the credits roll. Without further adieu, Gripp's social media masterpiece ... so far.
