A woman fought off a man trying to rob her while she jogged near a South Jersey high school Thursday evening.

Galloway Township Police rushed to the area of Wrangleboro Road and High School Drive – that’s a short distance from Absegami High School – around 5:45 after receiving a 911 call about an attack on a woman jogging in the area.

The jogger – a 26-year-old from Galloway – was jogging when a man attacked her from behind and tried to grab her cellphone, said police. The woman fought off her attacker but in the process was thrown to the ground, causing minor injuries, said police.

Shortly after arriving, police located Tyrone Decker Jr. nearby. The 25-year-old Atlantic City resident matched the description of the woman’s attacker, said police.

Police charged Decker with robbery and criminal mischief and a judge sent him to Atlantic County jail on $75,000 bail.

A man poured accelerants throughout his Delaware County home, ignited a flame then shot himself overnight, said police.

Firefighters entered Michael Schoen’s home along Granite Terrace near E Thomson Avenue around early Friday morning to find the 57-year-old man dead of an apparent gunshot wound in a second-floor bedroom, said Spring Police Chief Joseph Daly.

Flames didn’t really reach the part of the home where firefighters found him, said Daly.

Investigators found gallons of flammable materials in multiple rooms in the home including the basement where it appeared the fire may have started.

Police said Schoen drove a truck until her recently lost his job. Police had never really responded to any issues at the home outside of performing a well being check on Schoen last week where he spoke to an officer through the front door.

A historic New Jersey home where the author of "The Red Badge of Courage" once lived is poised to reopen following an eight-month and $120,000 renovation.

The Asbury Park Press reports renovations to the Stephen Crane House in Asbury Park are scheduled to be completed on Wednesday.

The 138-year-old home has both national and state historic designations.

The Asbury Park Historical Society bought the property in October. It has since seen interior and exterior upgrades, including to its relatively untouched parlor, which has been completely replastered and will feature a 19th-century style wallpaper.

The Victorian home also received fresh paint, roof repairs and electrical upgrades.

The historical society says the house will be refurbished and decorated after renovations are finished. It's expected to reopen later this month.

Ali had been there for the Frazier family after Joe’s death in the fall of 2011. Ali even came to Philadelphia for his former rival’s funeral.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection detained an Upper Darby woman after finding $300,000 worth of cocaine in 10 cans of chocolate drink.

Tiwanda Rechele White-Pinkton, 38, arrived at Philadelphia International Airport on May 23 after a visit to Montego Bay in Jamaica, said Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in a news release Wednesday.

Customs officers at first discovered a white powdery substance in two cans inside the Upper Darby, Pennsylvania woman’s luggage and testing revealed the substance to be cocaine, said CBP.

In total, officers found 4.9 kilograms (nearly 11 pounds) of cocaine concealed in the cans, said CBP.

Pennsylvania State Police arrested White-Pinkton on drug dealing and criminal conspiracy charges.

"Transnational criminal organizations employ many unique concealment methods to smuggle their deadly drugs into the United States, and Customs and Border Protection officers must remain vigilant to stop these attempts," said Port of Philadelphia CBP director Susan Stranieri. "We’re hopeful that this arrest sends a strong message that CBP officers in Philadelphia remain committed to intercepting illicit narcotics before it can reach our communities."

Across the country, CBP officers seize around 9,000 pounds of narcotics daily.

An argument inside a Montgomery County gas station ended with one man dead in an adjacent McDonald's drive-thru and another behind bars on murder charges.

The deadly incident played out late Tuesday night along W Main Street near U.S. Route 202 in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Marquis Johnson, 24, and Jonathan Walker, 22, got into an argument while inside a BP Gas Station. Moments later they both left the gas station and Walker opened fire 11 times, leaving Johnson dead of multiple gunshot wounds, said the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.

Johnson's body wound up in the drive-thru lane of the fast-food restaurant.

On Friday, DA Kevin Steele announced first-degree murder, third-degree murder and weapons charges. Walker was held without bail ahead of a June 23 preliminary hearing.

The McDonald's opened for business after police cleared the scene Wednesday morning.

"The security and safety of our customers and employees is always our top priority," said McDonald’s owner/operator Jonathan Chong in a statement. "We’d like to thank the local police department and our employees who responded swiftly and professionally. Given this is an ongoing police investigation, please contact the local Norristown police department for questions regarding the incident."

Local cops tried to alleviate the pain of two young boys whose toddler sister died suddenly at their Bucks County home last week.

Hannah Moyer, a 13-month-old, died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome after she was found unresponsive June 2 in Perkasie Borough. Later that day, Officer Joseph Murray took Hannah’s brothers to the police department for a tour.

Other borough officers showered 6-year-old Chase and 4-year-old Blake with attention.

“Most of the officers in the department have families, so this story hit us hard,” Officer Steven Hillias said.

Officer Joseph Murray, who was the first to arrive at the Moyer home, eventually gave Chase a ride to his Kindergarten class.

As the police sirens wailed, Chase arrived to his class in unique fashion.

The children’s mother, Tara Moyer, said the kindness has had a big effect on the boys.

"Now, Chase only listens when you call him Chief Chase,” she said. “He has always admired police officers.”
