A flood watch is still in effect for parts of our area as the rainy weekend continues. Philadelphia already broke a daytime record for the most rain on March 30 with 1.72 inches. The previous record was set back on March 30, 1912, with 1.24 inches.

NBC10 First Alert meteorologist Tedd Florendo says another inch of rain could fall Sunday into Monday morning.

While there was a brief lull in the rain Sunday morning with only a light drizzle, the precipitation picked up in intensity and will continue throughout the day into the night.
Philadelphia, New Castle County and the North and West suburbs remain under a flood watch until 2 a.m. on Monday.

There is still the possibility of flooding in small creeks, streams and roadways in the areas under the flood watch. Flooding already caused Haddonfield-Berlin Road(Route 561) in Cherry Hill to close on Saturday.

The rain should finally end on Monday right before the morning rush. We’ll then see warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before the rain returns next weekend.
