A man who allegedly claimed to have a "urination fetish" was arrested and charged on Tuesday after investigators say he exposed himself to more than a dozen young girls near a middle school in Norristown, Pa.
Angel Aponte-Rodriguez, 39, was arrested Tuesday morning at a home along the 1400 block of Markley Street. Investigators say Rodriguez’s fly was down at the time of his arrest.
The home is located near Eisenhower Middle School, where police say Rodriguez repeatedly exposed himself to female students between the ages of 12 and 14.
During each incident, Rodriguez allegedly walked up behind the victims, said something to them so that they would turn around, and then exposed himself.
Investigators told NBC10 that Rodriguez was spotted on surveillance video, hiding behind homes and bushes, before approaching the victims.
Officials tell NBC10 that Rodriguez is a contractor who moved to Norristown from Puerto Rico a few months ago.
According to investigators, Rodriguez confessed to the crimes but told detectives he only exposed himself to the young girls because he had a “urination fetish" and enjoyed urinating in front of people.
“She’s going through therapy and everything because of this dude,” said Nicole Henderson, the mother of one of the alleged victims. “I’m going through anxiety right now. I’m scared. I’m nervous. I’m angry.”
According to police, Rodriguez was charged and arraigned Tuesday night. However, they have not yet revealed the specific charges against him.
Police also have not yet revealed the dates for all of the alleged incidents but warn that there may be more victims who have not yet come forward.
Eisenhower Middle School was also the scene of the attempted abduction of a 14-year-old girl last month. However, Rodriguez is not connected to that incident, which is still under investigation, according to officials.
