Congressman Rob Andrews stood before cameras inside his Haddon Heights, N.J. office to announce he is resigning. He plans to leave office on President's Day weekend.

Andrews was first elected in 1990 and is a Democrat who is currently in his 12th term in Congress, representing Camden, Gloucester and Burlington Counties. The congressman is being investigated for possible ethics violations for travel that may be paid for with campaign funds.

He called the decision to leave a "personal and family decision" and said he would be joining a law firm. The firm, Dilworth Paxson LLP, is based in Philadelphia.

Andrews, 56, resides in Haddon Heights with his wife Camille Spinello Andrews, the associate dean of enrollment and projects at Rutgers School of Law in Camden.
