Dashcam video captured a man assaulting a car crash victim just moments after the wreck.

Philadelphia Police released surveillance video Monday that shows a guy in a greenish hoodie push his way into the victim’s car following the auto accident around 10:50 a.m. on Dec. 4 at 2nd and Tioga streets in the city’s Kensington section.

The video shows the suspect pummeling the 25-year-old driver while emptying his pockets before both men fall out the passenger side door. A short time later and another man can be seen outside the car as a dog jumps into the front seat and appears to be barking as the scuffle continues outside the car.

The suspect made off with the victims IPhone 6 and tablet before walking away with two other men.

The fight left the victim injured at Temple University Hospital.

Investigators didn’t reveal the circumstances around the wreck.

They asked anyone with information to contact Philadelphia Police.

Police Catch Suspect in Home Invasion of 91-Year-Old Woman

Maria Taylor spent Sunday night feeling on edge in the West Philadelphia rowhouse she's shared with her husband for several decades.

Taylor, 71, uses a walker to get around, so the news on Sunday that two robbers ruthlessly targeted her 91-year-old neighbor, kicking in the woman's door in the middle of the night and robbing her of her cellphone, iPad and computer, scared her.

But by Monday afternoon, Taylor's worries were soothed as word spread on the tight-knit block that police had caught at least one of the suspects believed to be responsible for the 3 a.m. break-in.

"I feel better now that they caught him," Taylor said from her front porch.

Investigators were able to identify one of the men and track him down, Lt. John Walker of Southwest Detective Division confirmed. The man, who Walker said is in his 20s, was expected to be formally charged by the end of the day Monday.

Taylor said the block of Felton Street just north of Market, lined with trees and porched brick rowhouses, is usually quiet, but for the rumbling of El trains along its southern end.

"That's why it's so shocking," Taylor said. She said her 91-year-old neighbor is a community-involved woman who used to own a business in the neighborhood.

"She's a sweet person," Taylor said of the woman. "She tries to get out, tries to help people."

Police said the victim, who was home alone at the time, did not suffer any physical injuries during the home invasion.

There was no answer at the door of the woman's tidy porched rowhouse Monday afternoon. Tony Boyd, 52, who lives on the next block over and said his wife is good friends with the victim, knocked on her door to check on her before he left for work.

"That was heartbreaking," Boyd said. "My wife was so upset ... that was a shock. That's so close to home."

Boyd and other neighbors on the street said crime on that particular block, nestled between 62nd and 63rd streets near the edge of the city limits, is uncommon. But in the wee hours Sunday leading up to the home invasion, one man from the block said, something seemed amiss.

"A lady and a man came here asking for help," Steven, a young man who lives across the street from the 91-year-old victim, recounted. He said he heard yelling outside and a knock at his door early that morning and was met by a woman he'd never seen before asking for help, but he decided not to let her inside.

"I thought it was suspicious," the man, who asked that his last name be withheld, said.

It was unclear whether the knock on his door and the home invasion across the street were connected.

There was no word Monday on the second suspect.

The Warmest December Ever Recorded -- BY FAR!
“Records are made to be broken”. Yes, it’s a common and accurate cliché’. But weather records aren’t made to be SMASHED, DESTROYED, OBLITERATED -- whatever extreme word you can choose.

There are many different levels of weather records. Breaking a high temperature for that day is impressive, but reasonably common. Breaking a single high temperature for a month is impressive-and rare. Even breaking a record for warmest December ever recorded is impressive-but it’s bound to happen sometime. But that monthly record is going to be broken BY MORE THAN ANY MONTHLY RECORD HAS BEEN BROKEN. A lot more!

A Christmas Eve for the Ages!
The record warmest Christmas Eve in Philadelphia is 64, most recently set LAST YEAR. We could possibly beat that record by as much as 10 degrees. It looks like it will surely get into the 70s. And the highest temperature of any December day is 73. There is a chance of beating that. Here is the computer model forecast for Thursday (compared to “normal”):

So, will it cool off for the rest of the Christmas weekend? Not much. Here's what the Canadian model shows for Sunday temperatures compared to "normal":

SEPTA on Monday suspended a bus driver without pay after video of the driver attacking and throwing water on a female passenger surfaced on social media over the weekend.

Police and the transit authority are continuing to investigate the incident, officials said.

The 15-second video, which had been viewed on Facebook more than 95,000 times by Monday afternoon, shows a male bus driver approaching a woman standing in the center aisle of the bus and throwing what appears to be bottled water in her face as she tries to push him away. As the driver walks away, the woman laughs.

SEPTA Transit Police Chief Tom Nestel III on Monday said that his department is aware of the incident and investigating. He said it happened on a Route 57 bus stopped at Rising Sun and Duncannon avenues, in Olney, on Friday.

SEPTA police have already interviewed the bus driver involved, Nestel said. SEPTA officials said later Monday that the driver has been suspended as the investigation continues.

Nestel said police believe the incident began with a fare evasion, and that they're working to identify and reach out to the woman the driver assaulted to interview her.

Nestel said anyone with information on the incident should call 215-580-8111.

Colwyn Fire Members Stole $50K: DA

The chief, treasurer and fire company president of a Delaware County fire department conspired to steal more than $52,000 in cash from the volunteer service, prosecutors said Monday.

Colwyn Borough Fire Company chief Gary Brice, company president Betty Cellini and company treasurer Lauren Cellini face felony theft charges.

Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan said 50-year-old Betty Cellini and her 29-year-old daughter, Lauren, would write checks to each other and cash them. Checks were also written to Brice, 49, who would in turn cash them.

Lauren Cellini withdrew more than $9,000 in cash as well, officials said.

Over a three-year period, $52,892 in taxpayer money is unaccounted for, according to prosecutors. Whelan said the number could go up as the investigation continues.

The women told detectives they would some times pay fire company bills with their own money and then write checks for reimbursement. Detectives, however, said they could not provide receipts or documentation to back up the claims.

The NBC10 Investigators first reported allegations of misspending by the fire company in March. Borough officials questioned thousands of dollars in bills for regular gasoline, despite the fact the fire vehicles run on diesel fuel. The questionable spending led the borough to withhold state funding from the fire company.

All three members had been suspended when the criminal investigation began.

Brice was arrested at his home Monday morning. He did not comment when asked to respond to the allegations.

Police have yet to take either Cellini into custody.

Speed Major Factor in Fiery Crash That Killed 3

Speed was a major factor in the fiery crash of a car into a parked tractor trailer in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia this weekend that claimed three lives, police said.

Capt. John Wilczynski of Philadelphia Police's Accident Investigation Division said the black Chevrolet Camaro was probably going twice as fast as the 35 mph speed limit when it crashed shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday along Torresdale Avenue. The car, a rental, then burst into flames.

Police said 25-year-old Amonie Barton of Yeadon and 22-year-old Giavanna Scavo of Philadelphia were killed instantly along with a third woman the medical examiner's office is still trying to identify.

A witness fought back tears as he recounted breaking one of the car's windows to try and free the women trapped inside.

"I just want the families to know, of whoever these victims are, this close to Christmas, that I tried. I tried to do everything I could to get them out of that vehicle. I tried. And I'm sorry that I couldn't," said the man who did not give his name.

Police said the unoccupied tractor-trailer carrying herbicide was legally parked, and a hazardous materials crew was called to clean up that and spilled fuel. Another parked tractor-trailer also caught fire.
