Philadelphia has some of the deadliest intersections in the country.

The City of Brotherly Love saw 63 deaths at red lights from 2004 to 2013, according to a study released by the National Coalition for Safer Roads Wednesday.

THE NCSR released the data naming Philly as the 8th deadliest city for running red lights as part of its “Stop on Red” week. Houston with 181 fatalities topped the list for red-light running deaths, which totaled nearly 8,000 nationwide over about a decade.

The NCSR study said that the most red-light deaths occurred on Fridays from 1 to 5 p.m.

The study didn't break down Philly's red-light deaths by exact location.

Republican billionaire presidential candidate Donald Trump was unfazed when he got a taste of his own medicine Monday, using his leaked cell phone number to promote his Twitter account and campaign website, NBC News reported.

The move comes after Gawker tried to do unto Trump what Trump did to fellow candidate Lindsey Graham. The blog published Trump's phone number on Monday, suggesting readers call him to ask about his "important ideas" a few weeks after Trump gave out Graham's phone number at a campaign rally.

While Graham destroyed his cell phone in a viral video, Trump embraced the leak. The new voicemail for the business mogul is a campaign message plugging his Twitter and campaign website.

Fire forced dozens of residents out of their Pennsylvania apartments overnight.

The blaze broke out around 1 a.m. on a second-floor landing of a unit at the Shillington Commons Apartments along Community Drive in Cumru Township, Berks County.

“We had a report of smoke in the building,” said Cumru Township Fire Chief Scott Brady. “Upon arrival the units saw fire outside the one entrance of the building.”

Firefighters jumped into action battling the flames and clearing residents from the building. They got the blaze under control but not before it gutted 12 units leaving 32 people out of their homes but luckily no one hurt. The American Red Cross helped the fire victims out with food and shelter.

The blaze appeared to have started when a decorative element of the three-story building caught fire, said investigators.

“We’re focused on the back of the building in an area that’s right above the entrance way – it’s some sort of a decorative porch area,” said Brady.

No word yet on when people will be allowed back into the their homes.

GOP Candidates React to Being Excluded From Primetime Debate

With the final lineup set for the first Republican presidential debate, the lowest polling candidates are reacting, some angrily, to being left out of the main event, NBC News reported.

"The idea that they have left out the runner-up for the 2012 nomination, the former four-term governor of Texas, the governor of Louisiana, the first female Fortune 50 CEO, and the 3-term Senator from South Carolina due to polling seven months before a single vote is cast is preposterous," Rick Santorum's communications manager Matt Beynon said in a statement Tuesday.

Debate host Fox News announced that Santorum, who won 11 states in the 2012 GOP primary, along with Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, Jim Gilmore and George Pataki, will square off ahead of the prime-time event Thursday in Cleveland, Ohio. The crowded field of 17 candidates prompted Fox to limit the main debate to the top ten highest polling candidates, as judged by five recent national polls.

Perry, Fiorina and Graham, however, had a more positive reaction than Santorum. The former Texas governor and Fiorina both said they were looking forward to the 5 p.m. debate while Graham tweeted an "Emoji Guide to Pregaming for the Trump Debacle."

A shooting left a man riding his bicycle dead and his loved ones distraught.

Philadelphia Police officers rushed to Berks Street near Georges Lane in the city’s Wynnefield neighborhood late Tuesday night after multiple calls about gunfire in the area.

“They found a male – it appears to be a male in his early 20s. He was shot at least one time in his head,” said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The man was still straddling his bike on the sidewalk when medics pronounced him dead shortly after midnight, said Small.

The shooter fired at least three, shots, said investigators. He then got into a dark-colored car with two other guys inside and drove off along Georges Lane.

As cameras rolled following the shooting, people could be seen distraught at the scene -- one screaming woman needed to be carried away after collapsing on the ground.

City 'Proudly Welcomes Uber,' Draws Ire of Cabbies

Wilmington taxi drivers are upset that Mayor Dennis P. Williams has erected billboards that welcome the ride-hailing service Uber.

The News Journal of Wilmington reports that the city's Office of Economic Development is spending $8,000 under a one-month contract for four billboards with the message, "Wilmington proudly welcomes UBER." The billboards also include a website address where residents can apply to become a driver for the service.

Taxi drivers say taxpayer money shouldn't be used to publicize a business that is undercutting them.

Officials for Uber and the state Division of Motor Vehicles last month reached an agreement to write guidelines for private car providers to operate legally in Delaware.

Williams' spokesman Alexandra Coppadge said in an email that the city hopes to continue attracting innovative businesses such as Uber.

Thousands of SEPTA's Pope Passes Go Unsold

Special train passes for the weekend of Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia aren't as big a hit as expected.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority said Tuesday that about 20,000 of the commuter rail tickets remained unsold after a much-anticipated lottery.

SEPTA put the passes on sale through an online lottery. It said it received requests for 328,045 passes during Monday's one-day sale. The agency capped ridership at 175,000 for each day of Francis' Sept. 26-27 visit. That means 350,000 passes were available.

Even more the the nearly 22,000 passes could go unsold if people don't complete the sale after receiving a confirmation email.

People signed up through the lottery will have three days to complete the purchase. If they miss the deadline, someone else will be selected.

Overwhelming demand last week crashed a SEPTA website and forced a halt to ticket sales.

SEPTA limited papal visit service to select stations.

Philly Bride Asks Grandma to Be a Bridesmaid

An 89-year-old grandma shows that you are never too old to stand in the spotlight.

Betty Govern did not have a front row seat for her granddaughter’s May 2 wedding like most family members. Instead, she had the chance to stand right beside the bride as she said “I do.”

Philly bride, Christine Quinn, asked her grandmother “Nana Betty” to be her bridesmaid for her lavish wedding at the Please Touch Museum. Quinn said her grandmother is her best friend, so the decision to name her as a bridesmaid was a no-brainer.

Even though the decision may have come easy for Quinn, “Nana Betty” needed a little convincing when her granddaughter popped the question. In fact, Quinn said she was “shocked.”

“She asked me about 10 times, ‘Are you sure you want me? I’m an old lady and all of your bridesmaids are so young and pretty,'" Quinn said. “So I reassured her that we all wanted her to be in it. Everyone loves hanging out with Nana Betty."

In addition to having “Nana Betty” by her side, Quinn had a few other non-traditional elements that made her wedding stand out, such as marrying a man with the same last name and riding on a carousel during the reception.

Quinn said her grandmother played a role in the planning process prior to the wedding, as the bride and the rest of the wedding party would “bounce ideas off of her.” During the reception, "Nana Betty" participated as any young bridesmaid would: dancing the night away. Quinn said she spent the night mingling with the guests and dancing with the bridesmaids and even the groom’s grandmother.

Quinn also noted that having her grandmother stand beside her during the ceremony made the wedding more special than she could have ever imagined.

“My favorite moment was before the ceremony when she asked me, ‘Christine, are you happy?,” Quinn said. “I obviously said yes, and she said, ‘Okay, that’s all I ever wanted.”

You can check out Christine, “Nana Betty” and the rest of the wedding party in photos taken by Sweetwater Portraits.

As a result of the Pope’s visit to Philadelphia in late September, the Ben Franklin Bridge, along with several major area highways, will be shut down.

During a news conference Wednesday with top city officials, including Mayor Michael Nutter, it was announced that the Ben Franklin Bridge will be closed beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, September 25th till noon on Monday, September 28th. The bridge, however, will remain open to pedestrians.

The following highways will be closed beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, September 25th:

I-76 westbound from I-95 to US Route 1
I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) closed in both directions from I-76 to I-95
US Route 1 from Route 30 to Belmont Ave

*I-95 will remain open with selected ramps closed*

In addition, Nutter said a “traffic box” will be put in place in parts of Center City and West Philadelphia. The traffic box for Center City will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 25th and at 10 p.m. on the same day for West Philadelphia.

Nutter said vehicles will be allowed to leave the traffic box, but they will not be allowed to re-enter. It was not announced if cabs would be allowed to leave and re-enter.

“Be prepared to walk at least a few miles or more. Private vehicles will really not be a viable option,” Nutter said.

Nutter said more than 1,000 state troopers are being deployed to assist in helping secure the visit.

The World Meeting of Families and visit by Pope Francis take place the last full week of September. Pope Francis arrives in Philadelphia early on Saturday, September 26th and leaves around 8 p.m. Sunday, September 27th.
