An armed bank robber opened fire during a heist at a Montgomery County Bank of America branch Wednesday afternoon, police said, and the FBI is seeking the public's help to track down the suspect.

The same man is also believed to be responsible for the robbery of a Wells Fargo branch in Bryn Mawr on May 14, according to the FBI.

In Wednesday's robbery, the man walked into the Bank of America branch at 420 Plymouth Road in Plymouth Meeting at 3:51 p.m., handed the teller a demand note and pulled a small black handgun, the FBI said. He obtained an undisclosed amount of cash, turned to leave the bank, and then fired a single shot in the direction of the teller windows, authorities said. He fled the bank on foot. No one was injured.

The FBI described the suspect as a black man in his mid-20s, 5 feet 7, with a muscular build and a thin mustache and beard. He wore a white hat with a Nike swoosh on the front, a plain white T-shirt and glasses during the Plymouth Meeting robbery. He is seen in photos released by the FBI of the May robbery in Bryn Mawr wearing a black Reebok CrossFit T-shirt.

Tipsters should contact the FBI at 215-641-8910 or the Plymouth Township Police Department at 610-279-1901. The suspect, the FBI said, is considered armed and dangerous.

A South Jersey contractor was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly ripped off several customers.

Francis Kelly, the owner and operator of B Kelly Construction, LLC, turned himself in to Greenwich Township Police and was charged with failure to make required disposition of property received.

Investigators say Kelly was hired by a Greenwich Township couple to perform major home renovations in November of 2013. After receiving more than $40,000 from the couple, Kelly never completed the job, according to police. Police say subcontractors hired by Kelly told the couple Kelly never paid them for the limited job that was done.

Kelly was released after posting bond on $75,000 cash bail.

Kelly was also arrested for the same crime last month after receiving more than $33,000 from a township resident in May of 2013 to demolish and rebuild a home. Kelly never did any work on that job either, according to police.

Since that first arrest, at least five more people have come forward claiming they were victims of Kelly and his company. One victim told police Kelly took insurance money from Hurricane Sandy without doing any work. In all, Kelly scammed his victims out of more than $100,000, according to investigators.

If you believe you were a victim, call Greenwich Township Police Detectives at 856-423-1950.

A head-on crash that left two men dead and two cars mangled along a Delaware County street might have been caused by a car trying to pass a truck.

The cars – a red and a white sedan – collided along W 2nd Street near Pusey Street in Chester, Pennsylvania shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday.

Neighbors in the area heard the loud wreck and rushed to help the victims but it was too late.

“He kind of responded – grunted and then it was pretty much it,” said a witness who asked not to be identified.

Both men died at the scene.

Investigators spent much of the early morning trying to figure out exactly what led to the wreck. Witnesses said it appeared the white car was in the center lane trying to turn left onto Pusey when the red car tried to pass a truck and struck the white car.

The cars were cleared around 5 a.m.

Police at the Jersey Shore are investigating after a woman claimed an Uber driver got into the back seat of his black car and inappropriately touched himself during a ride over Memorial Day Weekend.

Avalon Police became aware of the caught-on-camera incident after a seasonal resident contacted them over the holiday weekend and reported ride-share driver's actions. The woman apparently captured part of the incident on her cellphone.

“Avalon Police have served Uber with a Subpoena to identify the driver involved in this case, as is required by the Uber Legal Department,” read a news release from police.

Uber didn’t identify the driver, but did say he was no longer driving for the service. They added that he was licensed to operate in Philadelphia by the Philadelphia Parking Authority, not in New Jersey.

"The driver has been permanently removed from the Uber platform for his inappropriate behavior, and we have reached out to the rider to apologize for such an uncomfortable experience.”

In the meantime, Avalon Police urged people down the shore to only use jitneys or taxis since those drivers go through annual license checks.

Authorities sent to investigate a strange object in a New Jersey backyard earlier this week found a big, rusty cannonball.

Madison Police Chief Darren Dachisen was closest to the Greenwood Avenue home and first to the scene. Police say the homeowner handed him a "heavy ball," which was later determined to be a cannonball.

Dachisen placed it "gently" back on the ground, and the bomb squad responded. The weapon was turned over to the U.S. Army for analysis.

It's not clear where the cannonball came from, nor how it got to the backyard of the home. Police said it appeared to be quite old.

Man Wanted in Ex-Girlfriend's Deadly Driveway Stabbing

A manhunt is underway for the man who investigators believe stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death in the driveway of her South Jersey home Wednesday night.

Camden County prosecutors announced Thursday they are searching for 45-year-old Michael Eitel. He's wanted for the death of Carole Bowne.

Berlin Township Police found the 39-year-old's body in the driveway of her Patton Avenue home around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday after getting several 911 calls. Bowne suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead around 11:20 p.m. at Virtua Hospital, according to investigators.

"I've known her for years and she just cared for anybody and it's tragic and I'm mad because it just didn't have to happen like this," Bowne's friend and neighbor Renee Smiley said through tears. The woman's 40th birthday was coming up Saturday.

Eitel came to the woman's home following an argument with a different woman at another home, detectives said. Bowne had a restraining order against the man who she began dating after the death of her husband in a motorcycle crash three years ago, according to friends and investigators.

The U.S. Fugitive Task Force has been called to find Eitel, who has a documented criminal history, according to investigators, including kidnapping, assault and illegal gun possession.

"He seemed OK in the beginning and then there was something almost off, I guess," Smiley said of Eitel.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Frank Simpson at (856) 365-3114 or Berlin Township Police Lt. Tony McVeigh at (856) 767-5878.

Can Tip Call Solve Decades-Old Missing Boy Case?

$

A man who described himself as "the son of the witness" to the 1991 disappearance of 11-year-old Mark Joseph Himebaugh could be the key to learning what happened to the Jersey Shore boy. Now, for the first time, authorities are releasing his call to a missing child hotline with hopes of breaking open the cold case.

“Okay. I need to know if you have a pen and paper because I’m not going to be on here long," the tip caller breathlessly told an operator at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to start the conversation.

It was 3:45 a.m. on Dec. 27, 2010. The man clutched a cold pay phone outside the Sunoco gas station at Richmond and Castor Streets in Philadelphia's Port Richmond neighborhood — some 80 miles northwest from where Himebaugh went missing in the Del Haven section of Middle Township, New Jersey.

After describing more background on the case, the caller then offered up a name: "Gilbert Patrick Marie." He's a person the tip caller said may have been involved in the boy's disappearance.

When questioned by the operator how the caller knows this information, the man said, "I’m the son of the witness of the crime."

Middle Township Police received a similar call the same night, but have been unable to track down the person named by the caller.

"It could be real significant," Middle Township Detective Allan McClure told NBC10's Ted Greenberg Thursday. “The caller’s voice sounded sincere."

So investigators are turning, once again, to the public for help. Detectives went to Port Richmond Thursday and handed out fliers with information about Himebaugh. They also released parts of the tip call. The entire call was not made public to protect the case's integrity.

“We’re hoping that over the years that have passed, maybe somebody can either recognize the voice or the name," McClure said.

The new information is part of a renewed push to solve the 24-year long mystery. Himebaugh was last seen near his home on Nov. 25, 1991 watching firefighters battle a marsh fire. The boy's sneaker was found on a Delaware Bay beach -- the only trace of the boy.

This week, analysts from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) are conducting new interviews and looking for additional leads in Middle Township.

Himebaugh's 35th birthday came and went last week and his mother, Maureen, said she's hopeful she will soon have answers.

“They told me that they feel really good about this, that this is going to be our year. And I believe that," she told NBC10 Monday.

Anyone with information in the case can call Middle Township Police at 609.465.8700 or the NCMEC hotline at 800.THE.LOST.

If your loved one has gone missing, here's a list of things you should do right away.

Private Jet Lands Without Nose Gear

A small jet was forced to land without nose gear at Philadelphia International Airport Thursday evening.

The private corporate plane, a Hawker 4000 owned by Carlsbad, New Mexico-based D & TC, LLC., made the hard landing around 7:30 p.m. along the airport's western side.

After skidding about 1,000 feet to a stop, emergency crews quickly surrounded the plane and sprayed flame-resistant foam around it as a precaution.

Fire officials said five passengers and crew onboard the jet were able to walk off on their own.

While the jet wound up in Philadelphia, that wasn't the intended destination.

The plane took off from Monmouth Executive Airport bound for New Mexico when the pilot realized there was a gear problem, according to airport spokeswoman Mary Flannery.

He radioed Philadelphia's tower to request a flyby and once the tower confirmed the gear didn't come down, the pilot circled around to make the emergency landing.

It's not clear what led to the nose gear issue.

The emergency landing led to delays averaging 60 minutes at the airport, officials said. A ground stop is also in effect until 9:30 p.m. meaning flights heading to Philadelphia are being held at their originating city until that time.
