A shooting at an intersection in Philadelphia's Oxford Circle neighborhood late Thursday sent four people to the hospital — including two teenage boys.

At least a dozen shots were fired at Oakland Street and E. Cheltenham Avenue at 8:50 p.m., police said.

Two 17-year-old boys each took a bullet to the hip — the left hip for one boy and the right for the other. One was rushed by private vehicle to Jefferson Frankford Hospital while the other was taken by police to Temple University Hospital. Both are listed in stable condition, police said.

Six bullets hit a 23-year-old man in the legs and lower back, police said. A 21-year-old man was hit once in the left arm. Both were also driven to Jefferson Frankford Hospital by private vehicle. The eldest man's condition is not known while the other is listed in stable condition, police said.

Officers cordoned off the intersection as they marked shell casings and searched for additional evidence. There's no immediate word on what sparked the shooting.

The incident is the latest in an alarming rise of shootings involving Philadelphia children this year.

So far this year, 74 kids ages 17 years and under have been shot and 14 have been murdered, according to data provided this week by the Philadelphia Police Department. Both stats mark a four-year high.

507 Now Confirmed Sick in McDonald's Salad Parasite Outbreak

The CDC is now reporting that 507 people in 16 states have been diagnosed with an intestinal illness after consuming salads at McDonald’s restaurants, marking a 16 percent increase in cases in two weeks and a stunning 731 percent increase since the first announcement mid-July.

One patient in New York City and one in Connecticut have been added to the cyclosporiasis case total, according to the CDC's update Thursday, but both of them purchased the salads while traveling in Illinois. That state currently accounts for more than half the total cases, the CDC says.

The West Coast has not been affected.

Cyclosporiasis is caused by the parasite Cyclospora, which the CDC says was evident in a romaine lettuce and carrots mix distributed to McDonald's locations; none of the mix was packaged for direct sale to consumers.

Two dozen people have been hospitalized amid the current outbreak, the CDC says, though no one has died and no recalls have been issued.

The most common symptom of the illness is watery diarrhea. Other symptoms include appetite loss, intestinal pain, nausea and fatigue.

McDonald's previously released a statement regarding the outbreak, saying "McDonald's is committed to the highest standards of food safety and quality control."

Earlier this summer, McDonald’s removed the lettuce blend from 3,000 identified restaurants and distribution centers that had received it.

Affected restaurants were located in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Missouri.

Reported illnesses started on or after May 20.

Man Gets 51 Years in Crossfire Killing of Camden Girl

A man convicted in the death of 8-year-old Gabrielle "Gabby" Hill Carter, who was killed in the crossfire when shots flew through her Camden neighborhood, was sentenced Friday to 51 years in prison.

Tyhan Brown addressed the court before his sentencing, saying he feels he was wrongfully convicted. He offered his condolences, but said he wanted Hill Carter's family to know the case is not over. He said he hopes to one day get real justice.

Brown's family members in the courtroom applauded after his statement.

The girl's uncle, meanwhile, read an emotional statement to the court saying the family misses Gabby and hurts every day.

Brown had been found guilty in the August 24, 2016 shooting of Hill Carter in June. She had been riding her bike when she was hit by a stray bullet. She died two days later.

On Friday, two years after the shooting that killed Hill Carter, Judge John Kelley sentenced the Camden man to 51 years: 28 years for aggravated manslaughter, 16 years for attempted murder and 7 years on weapons charges.

Brown will not be eligible for parole for more than 40 years.

The shooting of Carter was characterized by officials as part of the city's gang violence. Prosecutors said Brown was arguing with a rival gang member when he tried to shoot the other man.

Brown was captured in Tennessee about a month after the shooting.

'More Than a Playboy Model': Carlin Family Wants Answers

Family members of Christina Carlin-Kraft say they want the world to know she was "more than just a Playboy model" -- as police begin to piece together clues in the mystery of her murder.

"We're perplexed, shocked and disheartened," Carlin-Kraft's aunt, Angelique Carlin and cousin Kyra Carlin shed tears as they remembered her.

"It's 100% heartbreaking," Kyra said.

"She was the sweetest girl, loving and kind and generous and thoughtful," Angelique Carlin said, "Those are the things I will miss about my niece."

Carlin-Kraft was found strangled Thursday night inside her upscale condominium near the popular Suburban Square shopping center in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, police said. Police performing a welfare check found the woman's body.

On Friday, detectives fanned out across the area collecting evidence from locations in at least three counties in hopes of finding the person who strangled Carlin-Kraft.

The woman's credit cards were used at Wawa and Royal Farms convenience stores in Delaware County on Sunday, sources told NBC10.

NBC10 has also learned that Carlin-Kraft took a Lyft to a hotel in Philadelphia last Friday and ordered a drink at the bar. Hours later, around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, she was seen in the lobby of her condo building unable to walk on her own. A man was seen holding her purse; he then lifted her into the elevator.

The same man was also seen at Carlin-Kraft's condo hours before he was spotted with the woman. Sources told NBC10 it's believed the man stole items from the apartment.

The Montgomery County coroner ruled the death a homicide Thursday. She may have been killed as early as Tuesday, sources told NBC10.

Carlin-Kraft's modeling credits include Playboy, Maxim, David Yurman and MAC Cosmetics, according to a profile on a modeling website. She grew up at the Jersey Shore, graduated from Mainland High School, and worked as a 'Borgata babe' for a stint, her family said.

In 2016, she was charged with assault in New York City for striking a restaurant staffer. The charges were later dropped.

Prosecutors said there doesn't appear to be concern for nearby residents.

"How this happened and why is something our family wants to know," Christina's aunt said she hopes for answers in the death of her niece.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lower Merion police at 610-649-1000.
