Police arrested a man for stabbing his girlfriend, who gave birth to their child only days earlier, and the baby's grandmother.

Authorities say 19-year-old Roy Deon Jerome Summers was with his girlfriend and their week-old daughter in her bedroom at the Bucks County apartment she shared with her mother when the attack began around 8:30 p.m Friday.

Investigators say Summers' girlfriend told them that he became upset over a conversation they were having and began pacing around the bedroom while mumbling, "Why do you have to make me so angry."

After placing the infant in her bassinet, Summers shut off the bedroom lights, leaving the room lit only by a television set and refused to let his girlfriend leave, according to reports.

Next he shoved her onto the bed and punched and stabbed her face, neck and head with a sharp object, according to officials.

Police say the attack stopped when the victim's mother, who was in the living room, heard her daughter scream and then asked if everything was okay.

The suspect then walked out of the bedroom and began assaulting the victim's mother, according to reports.

The baby's grandmother told police Summers exited the bedroom and, without warning, stabbed her with a sharp object multiple times in the chest and neck. She pleaded with him to stop, but he continued his attack until her cell phone rang, according to reports.

At that point, Summers told his second victim that he wanted "all her pills" and that he didn't want to live, according to officials.

Investigators say he then ingested an unknown number of pills before fleeing the apartment.

In the mean time, Summers' girlfriend used her bedroom window to escape the apartment and went to another unit in the complex.

Police say they located the suspect, who was bleeding from his wrists, in a wooded area near the Levittown apartment complex.

Summers, who made additional suicidal comments to police, is facing aggravated assault and other charges.

Police are on the hunt for thieves who they say targeted a Montgomery County Auto Shop that has been without power for several days.

Ken Hein, owner of Greenwood Automotive Specialists in Wyncote, Pennsylvania, says his business was already struggling after it lost power during the ice storm. Now he’s out another $70,000 in money, tools and supplies after thieves struck his shop three times in the last three days.

“It hurts,” Hein said. “It’s just real upsetting. I got a family. I got three kids and I’m working hard to support them and somebody comes and takes my livelihood.”

Police say the thieves broke through the front door the first two times. During the most recent robbery late Friday night, they broke in after smashing the glass of one of the garage doors. Detectives say they also broke into a nearby convenience store.

According to officials, the thieves swiped the surveillance system from both businesses. Hein, who has spent the past three years building his business, is worried that the thieves will return.

“As long as there is no power I’m definitely worried,” he said.

Cheltenham Police say they have increased their patrols in an effort to catch the person or people responsible.

Police in Delaware County say burglars are also targeting homes without power in Radnor, Pa.

If you have any information on the burglaries, please call the Cheltenham Township Police Department at 215-885-1600.

NJ Paper Regrets Backing Christie

New Jersey's largest newspaper says it now regrets endorsing Republican Gov. Chris Christie for re-election.

In a column posted Sunday on the Star-Ledger's website, editorial page editor Tom Moran writes, "We blew this one'' and refers to Christie as the "most overrated politician in the country.''

The editorial comes weeks after emails revealed Christie aides orchestrated lane closures on a bridge for apparent political retribution and a Democratic mayor accused the Christie administration of tying Hurricane Sandy aid to her support of a real estate development project. Christie has denied involvement in each.

Moran says the 2013 endorsement had been a close call, but Christie's opponent just wasn't up to the job. Moran says the newspaper opposed several of Christie's policies but felt he had made progress on improving education and reforming pension and health care costs.

Keep your hat and gloves handy as freezing temperatures will persist for the start of the work week.

Snow moved out Sunday evening leaving a fresh coating of snow on side streets and sidewalks Monday morning. Caution is needed because the snow is sticking around thanks to the cold temperatures.

"It's going to start below freezing before the start of the work week," said NBC10 First Alert Weather meteorologist Brittney Shipp. "It will be sunny and cold (Monday and Tuesday)."

Monday and Tuesday nights will bring cold temperatures that dip into the single digits in the Pennsylvania suburbs. This cold blast is another blow to the area households that remained without power and heat Monday as a result of last week's ice storm. The lack of power has many PECO customers frustrated.

The First Alert Weather team is tracking a chance of snow for Wednesday night into Thursday. The wintry mix will approach the Philadelphia region around 7 p.m. but it's still too soon to give exact details.
