A man is fighting for his life after police say he suffered a heart attack, causing him to crash his car.
Police say an unidentified man was driving a 2003 Chevrolet impala around 5:45 p.m. southbound on Broad Street near Pattison Avenue.
As the man was driving, police say he lost control of his vehicle and crossed over four lanes before going up a curb and striking a tree in the center median. The vehicle continued to travel on the grass until it struck a second tree and came to a stop.
The man was removed from the vehicle and responding medics performed CPR on him. He was then taken to Jefferson Hospital where he is being treated for head trauma. Investigators suspect he suffered a heart attack while driving which caused him to lose control of his vehicle. He is currently in critical condition.
