A flight from Newark, New Jersey, to Paris was diverted to Logan Airport in Boston because of fumes on board in the main cabin, according to a passenger on the plane.

A British Airways flight passenger said that some people on board noticed an odor when the flight was over the ocean.

According to information from FlightAware, the plane was diverted early Monday morning.

A spokesman from OpenSkies, the airline owned by British Airways, said that the captain of the flight decided to divert the plane "following a suspected technical problem."

"The aircraft landed safely and without incident. Passengers were booked onto alternative services," he added.

Passengers in the airport are currently trying to re-book or find another way to Paris.
