A man fatally shot a 26-year-old nurse found inside a South Philadelphia home Sunday before turning the gun on himself, authorities confirmed Wednesday.
Authorities said 24-year-old William Teves, of the 15000 block of Beverly Road in Philadelphia's Somerton section, shot Amy Girard multiple times in her home along the 2400 block of South Hutchinson Street Sunday morning.
Several tipsters claimed Teves and Girard were dating and things turned violent when she tried to break up with him.
Police identified a domestic dispute as the motive for the shooting, but they did not disclose the nature of their relationship.
Girard worked as a nurse at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for the past two years, according to hospital officials.
