A man is dead after an attacker stabbed him in the chest Saturday afternoon.
The victim was on a porch at a home along the 1300 block of West Erie Avenue in North Philly when the assailant stabbed him once around 3:45 p.m., acccording to police.
The 37-year-old man was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:07 p.m., officials said.
Authorities say the suspect fled on foot westbound on Erie Avenue, then turned north on Broad Street.
Police describe the suspect as a black male in his late 20's, wearing a white polo t-shirt and blue jeans.
