A woman is recovering after she was robbed at knifepoint leaving a Chinatown bar Tuesday night.
"I was scared out of my mind," Anh Nguyen told NBC10's Nefertiti Jaquez. "I never had someone point a weapon at me."
Nguyen, 24, says she and a friend had just left Yakitori Boy, a popular karaoke bar on N. 11th Street, when they were approached my a knife-wielding man.
The man lunged at the women, demanding they hand over their purses, according to police.
"He pointed the knife at me," said Anh Nguyen. "He's yelling at me, 'give me your f*(^$%# money!'"
The women took off in opposite directions, but the suspect caught up with Nguyen. She says he slammed her against a wall and held a knife to her throat.
"I thought, oh my God, I could really die tonight."
The man grabbed her purse before taking off, leaving behind a terrified Nguyen.
Lucky for Nguyen, the attack, which happened down the street from a police station, was caught on surveillance camera.
Police are reviewing the footage.
"...I could've died that night," said the victim. "I really could have."
