Philadelphia Police are investigating a double shooting that killed a person and injured another in the Olney section of the city.
Investigators say a 33-year-old man and another man in his mid-30's were driving southbound on Palethorpe Street around 7:50 p.m. when an unidentified gunman opened fire.
Both men were struck and the driver lost control, crashing into a parked car. The engine caught fire upon impact.
Firefighters were called to the scene and pulled both men out of the vehicle when they arrived.
Police say both men were shot in the back of the head. The 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The man in his mid-30s was taken to the Einstein Medical Center where he is currently in critical condition.
No arrests have been made. Police have not released information on any suspects.
