A gas leak left residents in South Philly out of their homes Tuesday.
Someone reported the smell of gas along the 2500 block of Mole Street around 10:30 a.m.
Philadelphia Gas Works responded to the scene and found gas readings but couldn’t confirm a leak, according PGW spokeswoman Melanie McCottry.
In total four homes were evacuated as a precaution, according to PGW.
Philadelphia Police, firefighters and PECO crews also responded to the scene.
This reported leak is about 1.2 miles from the scene of a gas explosion at another South Philly home last summer.
The cause of Tuesday's leak wasn't clear.
