The family of Delaney "Laney" Brown has announced a public viewing for the girl who captured the attention of the nation as she fought cancer.
The 8-year-old West Reading child lost her battle against a rare form of leukemia early Christmas morning.
A public viewing will be held Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home at 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, according to Christopher Winters, a spokesman for the family.
To honor "Laney's fashionista style," attendees are encouragered to dress in bright colors.
Parking is available in the North 8th Avenue and Penn Avenue Parking Lot.
After she passed, Winters released a statement on the family's behalf:
"We are devastated by the loss of our Laney. She was our angel. We will miss her smile, her laughter, and the way she would light up any room she was in. We are eternally grateful for all of the love kindness, prayers and support that we have received from people across the world. You will never know how meaningful it was for all of you to rally around Laney."
In Laney's final days, thousands of people rallied outside her home singing Christmas carols in a show of support.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to the Four Diamonds Fund at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
