Police arrested a man who allegedly stabbed his co-worker in South Philadelphia Thursday morning.

Officers took 45-year-old Michael Bozzi of 900 Anchor Street into custody and charged him with attempted murder, aggravated assault and other offenses, according to reports.

Shortly before 8 a.m. an argument between Bozzi and the 47-year-old victim ensued over who receives more work, according to police.  The fight escalated to a physical altercation and then, police say, Bozzi pulled out a paring knife and slashed his co-worker's face three times.

Following the incident, which occurred near S. 18th and W. Ritner streets in South Philly, Bozzi discarded the weapon in a nearby trash can and continued to argue with the victim in the same general location, according to police.

The 47-year-old victim, who wasn’t immediately identified, was rushed to the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania in stable condition with two large wounds to the right and left side of his face, according to police.

It wasn't clear if the stabbing happened inside or on the street.
