Gerald Gibson, the former son-in-law of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett was arrested and charged with theft by deception and other related offenses.

Gibson, 43, was a narcotics officer with the Philadelphia police force who was under investigation by the FBI and Philly's Internal Affairs Unit. Sources told NBC10's Nefertiti Jaquez that Gibson was caught on hidden camera, taking money out of a car he was told to search. What Gibson didn't know, according to sources, is that that the money was planted in the car by investigators.

Gibson is the former husband of Gov. Corbett's daughter Katherine.

“I was surprised and concerned to learn about the allegations regarding my son-in-law Gerald Gibson," Gov. Corbett said in a statement last February. "Susan and I continue to give our family our love and support.”

Gibson (pictured to the left) was placed on administrative leave, according to sources.

On Wednesday, a court document was released indicating that Gibson was arrested and charged with several offenses.

The court document states that Gibson was charged with theft by deception, receiving stolen property, tampering with evidence and other related offenses. He was released after a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
