Pa. Backyard BBQ Ambush Leaves 5 Dead, 3 Hurt: Five people have been killed in an ambush-style shooting during a backyard party in suburban Pittsburgh and at least two gunmen are at large, police said. Four women and a man were killed late Wednesday during the party in the Borough of Wilkinsburg. Allegheny County police said people scrambled toward the house as bullets began flying. Four of the victims were found dead on the back porch. The other one died at a hospital. Three people were injured and taken to area hospitals. Two men were in critical condition and a woman was stable, police sa At least two suspects fled on foot. A motive wasn't immediately known. Lt. Andrew Schurman of the Allegheny County homicide unit says the gunmen barged into the party and opened fire in an ambush-style attack. He said gunshots came from two distinct locations but police don't believe anyone at the party fired back.
Thursday is expected to see record warm temperatures again but by the evening a slighter colder front should move in to the area. Temperatures could hit 80 degrees again on Thursday. There is a chance of a shower Friday morning but the rest of the day is expected to be dry and temperatures should fall back to the high 60s. Hit-And-Run Driver Slams Unmarked Police Car: A hit-and-run driver slammed into an unmarked police car early Thursday, leaving two Philadelphia Police officers with minor injuries. The force of the rear-end crash at Erie Avenue and G Street in Philadelphia’s Juniata section around 3:30 a.m. caused the unmarked police car to crash into the Coca-Cola bottling plant at the corner, said investigators on the scene. Doctors at Aria Health Frankford treated the 24th District officers for minor neck and back injuries, said police. After the crash, the driver took off westbound on Erie Avenue. No word yet on a vehicle description. The crash didn't do any visible major damage to the building.

White House Hosts Canada's New PM: Justin Trudeau hopes to strengthen U.S.-Canada relations. Thursday when the new, young liberal leader makes a much-anticipated visit to the White House. Trudeau, who has captured Americans' attention in a way not seen since his father's time, gets one of the highest honors the U.S. reserves for close allies: a pomp-filled visit that includes a meeting with President Barack Obama and a state dinner, the first for Canada since 1997. Trudeau, the 44-year-old son of late Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, is accompanied by his wife, Sophie Gregoire.
'Pawn Stars' Figure Jailed in Vegas: The man known to millions of cable TV viewers as Chumlee on the reality show "Pawn Stars" was being held late Wednesday in a Las Vegas jail following his arrest on felony weapon and drug charges. Austin Lee Russell, 33, was taken into custody when officers serving a search warrant in a sexual assault investigation found methamphetamine, marijuana and at least one gun at his southwest Las Vegas home, police said in a statement. Russell was not booked on a sex-crime allegation. Officer Larry Hadfield, a department spokesman, said that part of the investigation stemmed from a recent complaint by a woman, and it is continuing. Russell was being held pending an initial court appearance on 19 drug-possession charges and one weapon charge, according to Clark County Detention Center records. His bail was set at $62,000.

Olympic Champion to Star in Reality Series: Olympic all-around champion Gabby Douglas is inviting the world along for the ride in her quest for history. Douglas and her family will star in the upcoming docu-series "Douglas Family Gold," which chronicles the 20-year-old's bid to become the first woman in nearly 50 years to repeat as the Olympic all-around gold medalist. The series debuts May 25 on the Oxygen Network, which is owned by NBC Universal. The show will center on Douglas, her mother Natalie Hawkins, sisters Arielle Hawkins and Joyelle Douglas, brother Johnathan Douglas and grandmother Carolyn Ford. She trains in Columbus, Ohio, where she lives with her grandmother while the rest of the family "juggles Gabby's business interests as well as their own lives," according to the network.
