A man was arrested after he allegedly stole a youth donation box from a Rehoboth Beach, Delaware 7-Eleven store.

On Wednesday around 10:45 a.m., an employee at the 7-Eleven on the 500 block of Rehoboth Avenue reported to police that the West Rehoboth Children and Youth donation box had been stolen off the store counter.

An officer reviewed surveillance video which revealed the theft had taken place back on February 22. In the video, a man in a Green Bay Packers jacket approaches the counter and grabs the donation box while the clerk isn’t looking, police said. He then places the box under his jacket and leaves the store.

Police later identified the suspect as 50-year-old Craig Beckett of Rehoboth and arrested him at his job in Lewes, Delaware around 8 a.m. Thursday. While being taken into custody, Beckett asked officers if he could have his jacket which his co-worker handed to him, according to police. Investigators say that jacket was the same Green Bay Packers jacket that was seen in the surveillance video.

During an interview Beckett allegedly confessed to taking the donation box. He was charged with misdemeanor theft and later arraigned.

Loved Ones Honor Boy Who Died Trying to Save Dad

Dana Henderson fought back the tears as she spoke about her son.

"I miss my baby," Henderson said. "It's hard but I miss him."

A vigil was held for Henderson's son, 12-year-old Sanford Harling III Saturday on Markley Street in Norristown. It's the same location where the boy died a month ago while trying to save his father from a house fire.

Harling and his family were inside a home on the 1000 block of Markley Street back on February 5 when the fire started on the first floor. Flames quickly spread to the second floor and were so intense that windows burst. While Harling escaped, he believed that his father, who was recovering from a recent surgery, hadn’t made it out. The boy ran back into the home but never returned, family members said. He was later found dead inside the burned out house. His father ultimately made it out alive after jumping out of a window.

For Harling's family, things haven't gotten any easier a month after the boy's death.

"It's going to be a void in my life for the rest of my life," Henderson said. "Because he ain't here."

Henderson told NBC10 she still doesn't have her son's death certificate, which has made it difficult to move on.

"I thought there was closure but there's never going to be closure," said Harling's grandfather Kenneth Peterson.

The family currently lives in a hotel but their assistance ends Sunday. While they managed to raise thousands of dollars, they say it will take some time for the money to be deposited into their account.

Despite their hardships, the family remains thankful for all the support they've received.

"I thank everybody on Facebook," Peterson said. "I thank everybody here."

Harling's father has had three surgeries and another one is expected. He is currently recovering at a rehabilitation facility.

Loved Ones Remember Sgt. Wilson a Year After His Death

Friends and family honored a hero on the one-year anniversary of his death.

A vigil for Philadelphia Police Sergeant Robert Wilson III began Saturday at 4 p.m. on 1747 North 17th Street in Philadelphia. Wilson's family and friends sat in the front row as Mayor Jim Kenney and Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross spoke on his bravery and legacy. The crowd also released balloons into the air in Wilson's honor.

"There's no greater love a man has than to lay down his life for others," Kenney said.

The event took place exactly one year after Wilson was shot and killed while trying to thwart a robbery inside a store.

On March 5, 2015, Wilson and his partner were conducting a security check of the GameStop store on the 2100 block of West Lehigh Avenue. While Wilson was inside picking up a gift for his son, Carlton Hipps, 29, and his 25-year-old half-brother Ramone Williams entered the store, according to investigators.

The two suspects allegedly took out handguns and announced a robbery. They then surrounded Officer Wilson and opened fire at point blank range, according to investigators. Police say Wilson, despite being struck several times, returned fire, engaging in a shootout with the suspects.

Wilson’s partner, who was outside at the time, ran into the store and fired at one of the suspects, striking his leg as he attempted to flee. The second suspect tried to escape as well but was apprehended by responding officers, police said.

Wilson was taken to Temple University Hospital where he died from his injuries.

"He chose to make that decision to become an officer, to protect," said Wilson's sister Shakira Wilson-Borroughs. "Officers including him, they are people. Lives are precious."

Wilson received numerous posthumous honors for his actions including a medal of valor and a Police Hero plaque. He was also promoted to sergeant.

Officer Jonny Castro, the new Forensic Graphic Artist for the Philadelphia Police Department, also created a digital painting in Wilson’s honor.

“I painted this portrait of him in remembrance of what he did for us all,” Castro said.

Both Hipps and Williams could face the death penalty for Wilson’s killing.
