A school bus crashed near the Roosevelt Boulevard (U.S. Route 1) in Northeast Philadelphia Friday morning landing one child in the hospital.

The yellow Durham School Services bus crashed near Rhawn Street and the Boulevard around 7:30 a.m. It was carrying about one dozen students from St. Francis Home for Children in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, said the Philadelphia School District.

No word yet on the cause of the crash that left one student hospitalized at Nazareth Hospital for pain, said investigators.

As SkyForce10 hovered overhead a short time after the wreck, you could see the bus pulled over to the side of the road with another car behind it.

The bus driver wasn't cited, said Durham School services spokeswoman Molly Hart.

St. Francis is part of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and serves students who are dependent or delinquent, according to its website.

All students on board were checked out and returned to school, said archdiocese spokesman Kenneth Gavin.

Five New Jersey High Schools received bomb threats Friday morning and at least two were evacuated, authorities said.

Teaneck, Bergenfield, Waldwich, Mahawah and Hackensack high schools all received threats, according to Bergen County authorities.

All of the schools were deemed safe by about 12:00 p.m., authorities said.

"Swatting seems to be a pastime, and I use that term losely, to cause havoc," said one police officer who responded to Hackensack High School.

"It's very time consuming," he said.

Teaneck High School and Bergenfield High School were evacuated after the threats, authorities said.

An automated call from the superintendent of Teaneck schools advised parents of the threat and said all students were evacuated to the Rodda Community Center as a precaution.

The Bergen County sheriff responded to the school, authorities said.

The Bergenfield Police Department tweeted that students at Bergenfield High School were being evacuated and the bomb squad is responding to the school.

"Bomb threat for BHS. Students being evacuated to a safe location. Police on scene, bomb squad notified and responding," the department wrote on twitter.

In January, eleven New Jersey schools were placed on lockdown or evacuated for part of the day after officials received threats about mass shootings and bombs.

Mascot Party World Record Attempt at the Palestra

Fluffy friends from all over the country flocked to the Palestra at the University of Pennsylvania Sunday to attempt a Guinness World Record and raise money for childhood cancer.

Over 130 Mascots including the Philly Fanatic, Swoop the Eagle, and Poe of the Baltimore Ravens got down on the dance floor at the event organized by Mascots for a Cure. The nonprofit organized around the idea of "fighting back against childhood cancer, one mascot at a time!"

Founder Derek Zinser started the organization after losing his father to cancer in 2009, according to the group's website. "Every mascot that participates, every dollar raised, every smile inspired is one step closer to making sure that my dad’s memory, and the memory of countless others, is not lost and lives on," Zinser says on the site.

The "unofficial" record-breaking video posted on Facebook shows 138 mascots dancing simultaneously in the gymnasium.

In order for the record to become official, Guinness World Records will view the video and confirm that all the mascots danced in sync for the required amount of time.

The current record was set by 134 mascots dancing in Nagasaki, Japan in 2013.
