2 Men & Baby Steal Scooter

Detectives are looking for two men -- one holding a baby -- wanted for swiping a man's scooter from in front of his Philadelphia home.

Isaack Barker has had his Honda CH-80 since January, and always secures the bike right outside his front door on Ridge Avenue near West Jefferson Street. But when he went to find it Thursday afternoon, it was nowhere to be found.

"I had come back to the door at about 1:00, 12:45 probably, and the bike was gone," Barker said.

Barker checked his security surveillance video and saw two men cutting the chain, with the baby-holding man serving as a lookout.

"Crime with a baby?! That's like absolutely ridiculous," said Barker. "He's standing in the street with the baby talking to the criminal. And just to hold the baby like that, and hop on a bicycle ..."

As the one man walked the scooter down Ridge Avenue, the man with the baby hopped on a bicycle and rode it precariously down the sidewalk, with the infant on his lap.

"Getting the baby involved, man ... it's a crime against a baby. It's ridiculous."

Police hadn't seen the video because a detective had not yet been assigned the case, but they're hoping the public can help catch these criminals.

"I don't want to wish bad upon nobody, but you done put bad on me," added Barker.

If you recognize either of the two men in the video — or the infant — call the Philadelphia Police tipline at 215.686.TIPS.

Cop in Fatal NYC Crash Pleads Not Guilty to Manslaughter

The New Jersey police officer who law enforcement sources say had a blood alcohol content three times the legal limit when he hit a tractor-trailer head-on on a Staten Island highway, killing a fellow officer and a friend and critically injuring a third cop, pleaded not guilty to several charges including vehicular manslaughter Monday morning.

Linden police officer Pedro Abad was released on $25,000 bond Monday after the unsealing of a 27-count indictment in the March 20 crash that killed a fellow cop and a friend while injuring Abad and a third officer. He turned himself in to police on Staten Island Monday morning, six months after the crash on the West Shore Expressway.

Abad was driving his fellow officers and friend on the wrong side of the expressway on the way back from a strip club when his vehicle slammed into the tractor-trailer, authorities said.  Hours before the crash, Abad had posted a photo on his Instagram page of three shot glasses filled with what he identified as "Jack Daniels Fire on the house."

Abad was hospitalized in critical condition following the crash, which killed fellow Linden officer Frank Viggiano and friend Joseph Rodriguez. Patrik Kudlac, another Linden cop riding in Abad's Honda, was also hospitalized in critical condition after the crash. Kudlac's mother told NBC 4 New York a month after the crash he was doing better.

Abad was also badly injured in the crash and has himself been facing months of rehabilitation.

Public records show Abad has been involved in eight accidents since 2005 and has two arrests for drunken driving in the last four years. His driving record and employment history is being investigated by authorities in New Jersey.

One thing may stand between you and a new iPhone 6S or other long-awaited package this week: the Pope.

Pope Francis' visit to the U.S. on Thursday and Friday will impact UPS service in New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., the package delivery company said.

UPS is implementing contingency plans to deal with an increase in security in the three U.S. cities that Francis will visit. No pickups and deliveries will be available in some ZIP codes for select days.

Service will be disrupted in New York City on Thursday and Friday, when Francis is scheduled to visit St. Patrick's Cathedral, the United Nations, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, and Madison Square Garden, among other stops.

Washington D.C. will see service disruptions on Thursday and Friday, and Philadelphia, on Friday and Saturday.

UPS said its Service Guarantee does not apply when transportation networks are disrupted "due to events of this nature."

UPS customers can track their packages and be notified by email when the status of their package changes by visiting UPS.com. UPS also has a papal visit update page.

Dozens of traffic changes and street closures are being implemented for Pope Francis' visit. Authorities encourage all New Yorkers and visitors to rely on public transportation.

Police say they've arrested two parents in the alleged abduction of their 10-year-old daughter in Manhattan.

Jacqueline Hendricks, 39, and Carlos Hicks, 42, were charged in the Wednesday kidnapping of Celine Hicks, the NYPD said.

Authorities had put out an Amber Alert for the girl after she was allegedly taken by her parents, who do not have custody.

The Amber Alert was canceled shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday, about 24 hours after Hendricks allegedly abducted her daughter after picking her up from Castle Middle School on Henry Street on the Lower East Side.

There was no immediate word on where the child was found. She was believed to have been with both her mother and father.

Celine Hicks lives with another family member, according to police. Authorities had said the parents have some history of violence.

Hendricks was charged with custodial interference and Carlos Hicks was charged with custodial interference and aggravated harassment. It wasn't known if they had attorneys.

A potato chip deliveryman was arrested after he allegedly stabbed his co-worker several times.

The victim, a 23-year-old man who works for Herr’s Snacks, told police he was driving up to his company’s headquarters on the 7500 block of Brewster Avenue in Philadelphia Friday around 1:45 p.m. with 21-year-old Tamaron Jones. Jones worked for a temporary agency and was assigned to Herr’s about two weeks ago, officials said.

As the two were driving, Jones allegedly pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed the man multiple times. The victim was eventually able to escape from the Herr’s truck, police said.

The victim suffered cuts to his right eye and right arm as well as puncture wounds to the back of his head, stomach area and leg, police said. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where he was treated and released after receiving stitches.

Jones, who police say had never previously worked with the victim, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possessing an instrument of crime, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. The victim told police he’s unsure what prompted the attack and that the two men had never gotten into any arguments or disagreements prior to the incident.

Sweet Pea, a "bait dog" survivor left for dead in a Camden City, NJ garbage dump by dog fighters, will begin her new life through the New Leash in Life USA Program.

Through the prison-dog training program, Sweet Pea and her inmate trainers will spend 24-hours a day together for the next 12 weeks in order to prepare her for the Canine Good Citizen test. Dogs that pass this exam, which tests a dog's obedience and socialization skills, become eligible for adoption.

At just two years old, Sweet Pea has only known a life of violence. Known as a "bait dog," she was used by dog fighters to "train" the lead dogs, and was rescued by NJ Aid for Animals when she was discovered injured and abandoned in a dumpster.

"Sweet Pea tugs at the hearts of everyone she meets," said Kathy McGuire, president and founder of NJ Aid for Animals. "We understand the trauma and hardship the dogs we rescue have endured. NJ Aid for Animals looks at the whole dog - body, mind, and spirit. We're confident the New Leash on Life USA program will bring out the best in [Sweet Pea]."

NJ Aid for Animals is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit founded in 2015. Its mission is to enrich the life of every animal it touches and to expand awareness and report animal neglect and abuse.
