Teen Mom Dies After Being Stabbed in Parking Lot: A 17-year-old teen mom died early Sunday morning after police say she was stabbed in a drugstore parking lot in Philadelphia. Police were called to the Walgreens parking lot at Broad Street and Hunting Park Avenue in the Hunting Park neighborhood just before 3:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found the teenage girl suffering from several stab wounds to her neck, back and arm. The girl was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 3:40 a.m. The homicide was one of several on a violent night throughout Philadelphia. Friends and family say the teen leaves behind a young daughter.

N.J. Man Blows Off Park of Leg with Fireworks: A northern New Jersey man blew off part of his left leg in a July 4th fireworks accident, police said Sunday. The 52-year-old Leonia resident also suffered a compound fracture in that leg and serious burns to his right leg around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, police said. The man lit a large firework but then dropped it. When the device detonated, it threw him back about four feet and blew off "a large piece" of his left leg below the knee, police said. Authorities said he could face criminal charges because fireworks are illegal in New Jersey.

Greek Finance Minister Resigns: Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis announced his resignation on Monday, a day after Greeks delivered a resounding 'No' to the conditions of a rescue package. In a statement, Varoufakis said he had been "made aware" that some members of the euro zone considered him unwelcome at meetings of finance ministers, "an idea the prime minister judged to be potentially helpful to him in reaching an agreement."
"For this reason I am leaving the ministry of finance today." The euro fell sharply on Monday (local time) in Asia-Pacific trading after the vote against austerity measures demanded in return for bailout money.

Reported N.J. Shark Only Sunfish: What officials initially believed to be a shark at a Monmouth County beach was actually a sunfish. Officials alerted residents Sunday that a shark was spotted in the water near the Driftwood Beach Club on the 1400 block of Ocean Avenue in Sea Bright late Sunday afternoon. Beach and police patrols warned beachgoers to stay out of the water as they investigated. Officials later determined what they believed was a shark was actually only a sunfish however. All alerts and warnings were later canceled. Learn more about the incident here.

South Jersey's Carli Lloyd's Hat Trick Lifts U.S. to Women's World Cup Win: A South Jersey soccer star carried the United States Women’s National Team to World Cup glory Sunday with an unprecedented hat trick in a matter of minutes. Carli Lloyd scored three times as the U.S. jumped to a four-goal lead in the first 16 minutes, and the Americans overwhelmed defending champion Japan 5-2 for the team's first World Cup championship since 1999. Lloyd's three-goal performance, the first hat trick in a Women's World Cup final, played out in front of a sellout crowd of 53,341 that included U.S. Vice President Joe Biden.
