Suspended Priest Pleads Guilty in Child Porn Case: A suspended suburban Philadelphia priest pleaded guilty to federal charges in a child pornography case. The Rev. Mark Haynes, who had been vicar of Saints Simon & Jude parish in Westtown Township since September 2013 before his arrest, pleaded guilty Monday to using the Internet to entice a minor to engage in sexual contact, possession and distribution of child pornography and destroying or concealing evidence.
Prosecutors alleged that around 2010 the 56-year-old West Chester resident posed as a 16-year-old girl named "Katie" on a teenage dating website, met minor girls online and requested that they take and send sexually explicit pictures. Prosecutors said Haynes faces a mandatory minimum term of 10 years when he is sentenced Sept. 10.

Turf at Women's World Cup 'Nightmare,' Soccer Star Says: Despite their protests, the best female soccer players in the world are being forced to play all the games of the 2015 Women's World Cup on artificial turf. "It's kind of a nightmare," said star U.S. forward Abby Wambach. She said that playing on turf "affects everything" from the way the ball bounces to the bloody "turf burns" the surface leaves on legs and arms.
All the tournament's fields — six surfaces in six cities — are made of turf. This Women's World Cup will be the first ever played on turf, and according to Wambach no major men's tournament has ever been played on turf.
