The Duggar family from TLC's "19 Kids and Counting" has been dropped from the TLC Summer Block Party coming to Philadelphia next weekend.

The Duggars were originally slated to appear at the event, according to previous screen shots from the official event website, posted on Philly.com.

The event was still scheduled to take place May 30Th at the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing with popular TLC personalities including Berks County's Kate Gosselin, New Jersey's "Cake Boss" Buddy Valastro, "Little People Big World's" Roloff family and Randy from "Say Yes to the Dress."

The move comes after allegations surfaced that the oldest Duggar, Josh, molested five underage girls as a teenager back in 2002 and 2003.

WATCH: Soldier Surprises Daughter

It was a Memorial Day weekend to remember for one local girl who received a heartwarming surprise from her father that was captured on video.

Trent Shoemaker has served in the U.S. Army for more than 20 years and has been deployed to Iraq and Bosnia. Due to his role as a Flight Operations Specialist based in Jacksonville, Florida, Shoemaker only gets to see his daughter, 9-year-old Zolei, as well as his girlfriend, Jennie Mojica, every few months. Trent made sure his latest reunion with his daughter was a special one however.

“I knew I was gonna surprise her,” Trent said. “She actually thought I was gonna be at work.”

Jennie had a camera on hand Friday as she and Trent visited Zolei at her new school, Joseph H. Brown Elementary in Philadelphia. The camera rolled as Zolei ran towards her father, cried out “Daddy,” and jumped into his arms. The father and daughter held each other close as tears of joy fell down her face.

“I was really excited because I miss him,” Zolei told NBC10. “I miss him when he’s away but I’m proud of him.”

While Jennie admits there are challenges with Trent being away so often, she is proud of all that he’s done for his family and his country.

“It’s tough because obviously we want him here physically,” Jennie said. “But we understand that what he’s doing isn’t just for us but it’s for everyone.”

It’s an understanding that is especially relevant for the family this Memorial Day Weekend. It’s also something Trent and Jennie hope other families are aware of as they partake in the normal holiday festivities.

“Keep the people who are still in harm’s way in mind,” Trent said. “There are still people out there across the world, still fighting.”

“I’ve learned a lot through him,” Jennie said. “We have to keep in mind that there are soldiers out there putting their life at risk to keep our country safe. I wish he was home more but we’re all safe because of it.”

Trent will head back to work on Monday. But for now, just like the citizens he protects, he’s enjoying Memorial Day Weekend with the people he loves the most.

Fiancee of Fallen Soldier Honors His Legacy

Memorial Day Weekend is a time of reflection for Amanda Charney as she looks back on the life and legacy of her fiancé, Army Staff Sergeant and Green Beret medic Marc Small.

“He was a fun-natured, easygoing, patient person who just loved to be outdoors, enjoy the moment and be around his friends and family,” Charney said. “I remember him as a man who loved his country more than anything. He was impacted by 9/11. It really hit him hard. He just stepped up and said, ‘it’s my turn.’”

Charney still remembers the last moments she spent with the love of her life.

“The day he left I remember giving him a kiss goodbye,” she said. “I was crying and he said, ‘I’ll be back. It’s a little vacation. I’ll be back in six months.”

It would be the last time Charney saw him alive. Small died in combat in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. He was 29-years-old.

Charney told NBC10 she’s kissed his picture every day since his death six years ago. On Saturday she sat on a bench under a weeping willow tree in Collingswood, New Jersey. It was a place where she and Small would often go to take photos, moments she spent with him that were especially valuable considering the amount of time they spent apart.

Charney, a speech pathologist, hasn’t let her pain stop her from honoring Small’s legacy. She started a foundation in Small’s memory called “Small Steps in Speech,” that raises money for children with communications disabilities.

Charney will never forget her fiancé. And as the nation celebrates during the Holiday weekend, she also asks that others not forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

“If you can bring out your American flag put it on your front step,” she said. “If you can go and take a few minutes just to pause and reflect on the sacrifice that these men and women have made.”

"Beautiful Mind" Mathematician, Wife Die in Crash

The Princeton University mathematician and Nobel Prize winner whose life inspired the film "A Beautiful Mind" died in a taxi accident in New Jersey on Saturday, according to police.

John Forbes Nash Jr., 86, and his wife of almost 60 years, Alicia Nash, 82, were killed when the driver of the taxi they were riding in on the New Jersey Turnpike lost control and crashed into a guard rail, police said.

The Nashes were traveling south in Monroe Township around 4:30 p.m. when the taxi crashed while trying to pass a Chrysler, according to New Jersey State Police Department Sgt. Gregory Williams.

Just days before his death, Nash received a prize from the Norwegian Academy of Sciences and Letters in Oslo with New York University mathematician Louis Nirenberg, who called Nash a truly great mathematician and "a kind of genius."

Nirenberg said he had chatted with the Nashes for an hour at Newark International Airport before they'd gotten into a taxi to return home to Princeton Township, New Jersey.

Police said it doesn't appear that the two were wearing seat belts and that they were thrown from the taxi when it crashed.

The taxi driver was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the Chrysler was treated for neck pain, according to police.

Police said the crash is under investigation and that no one has been charged.

Nash's life was the subject of the 2001 film, "A Beautiful Mind," starring Russell Crowe.

In a tweet Sunday, Crowe said that he was "stunned" by the news.

"An amazing partnership," Crowe wrote. "Beautiful minds, beautiful hearts."

"A Beautiful Mind" made more than $300 million worldwide and won four Academy Awards, for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress.

"This is a great loss," actress Jennifer Connelly, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of Alicia Nash in the film, said. "John and Alicia Nash were an inspiration and I have deep admiration for all that they accomplished in their lives."

Ron Howard, who directed the film, said Sunday that "it was an honor telling part of their story."

Nash was awarded the Nobel Prize in economics for his work in game theory, which offered insight into the dynamics of human rivalry. It is considered one of the most influential ideas of the 20th century.

Nash was also the senior research mathematician at Princeton.

Nash worked on his equilibrium theory at Princeton and, in 1950, received his doctorate with a dissertation on non-cooperative games. The thesis contained the definition and properties of what would later be called the Nash equilibrium.

But it was while teaching at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1959, when his wife, Alicia, was pregnant with their son, that schizophrenia began to emerge, a yearslong fight that was chronicled in the Academy Award-winning blockbuster "A Beautiful Mind."

In an autobiography written for The Nobel Foundation website, Nash said delusions caused him to resign as a faculty member at MIT. He also spent several months in New Jersey hospitals on an involuntary basis. However, Nash's schizophrenia diminished through the 1970s and 1980s as he "gradually began to intellectually reject some of the delusionally influenced lines of thinking," he wrote.

2001's "A Beautiful Mind" was based on an unauthorized biography by Sylvia Nasar, who wrote that Nash's contemporaries found him "immensely strange" and "slightly cold, a bit superior, somewhat secretive." Much of his demeanor likely stemmed from mental illness.

The Nashes split in 1963 then resumed living together several years later and finally remarried in 2001.

John Nash held a research post at Brandeis University before eventually returning to Princeton. Known as brilliant and eccentric, he was associated with Princeton for many years, most recently serving as a senior research mathematician.

Princeton University President Christopher Eisgruber said in a tweet that "we are stunned and saddened" by the news.

"John's remarkable achievements inspired generations of mathematicians, economists and scientists who were influenced by his brilliant, groundbreaking work in game theory, and the story of his life with Alicia moved millions of readers and moviegoers who marveled at their courage in the face of daunting challenges," Eisgruber said in a statement.

New Jersey Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman said she was saddened to hear that Princeton has lost "a brilliant, kind, and humble individual."

“In his lifetime, Nash conquered mathematics in ways few could even imagine, all while battling mental illness that threatened to overshadow his incredible contributions," Coleman said.

"In his victories he leaves behind a legacy as a pioneer, hero and friend, and will be remembered by many.

A Rutgers football player was arrested Sunday after he and another man allegedly robbed a bicyclist in Sarasota County, Florida.

Sarasota County police say 19-year-old Darian Dailey, a cornerback for Rutgers, and 20-year-old Trazelle Johnson, got out of a vehicle around 2 a.m. Sunday and approached a bicyclist while armed with a gun. The men then demanded money, took the cash and fled the scene, police said. The bicyclist was not hurt during the incident.

The bicyclist reported the vehicle’s tag information to police who eventually tracked down Dailey and Johnson, according to the Herald-Tribune. The bicyclist then identified the two as the men who robbed him.

Dailey and Johnson are currently being held on $150,000 bond at the Manatee County Jail on felony robbery charges, according to NJ.com.

Dailey, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound cornerback from Bradenton, Florida, redshirted for the Rutgers football team last season.

“We are aware of the situation and are gathering facts,” said Rutgers Football head coach Kyle Flood. “Once those facts are gathered, we will take the appropriate action.”
