Friends and family gathered at a West Philadelphia church Saturday, grief-stricken over the loss of 4-year-old Latif Wilson, who was killed in a hit-&-run last Monday night in Philadelphia's Kingsessing section.

Wilson was playing with his siblings outside their home on the 1600 block of South 57th St. when he was hit. then run over, by a black Ford Edge -- driven by a woman -- around 6:30 p.m. Monday, police said.

The driver fled the scene, leaving devastation in her wake.

"She was just crying for the baby," witness Raysa Cespezes said of the boy's mother who rushed to her son "It was horrible. Something I would never want anybody to go through."

The SUV police believe was used in the deadly hit-&-run was recovered the next day in an underground parking garage at LOVE Park after its owner contacted an attorney, Michael Diamondstein, who then called police.

An arrest in the deadly accident has yet to be made, although the woman was expected to turn herself in earlier this week.

Family members voiced their frustration regarding the driver during Saturday's ceremony.

"She just needs to turn herself in. She needs to stop negotiating." said the victim's grandmother, Monique Lockwood.

The young victim's family also used Saturday's service to express support for another young victim of a hit-&-run, 2-year-old David Alicea Jr.

Alicea and his mother, Josephine Rivera, were hit by a car that fled the scene in Kensington less than an hour after Wilson was killed. Alicea died three days later.

Wilson's family plan on sending flowers to Rivera who was released from the hospital following her son's death.

"We are in this together," said Carmen Scott, Wilson's aunt. "It happened on the same day. We're in this together so we want to support one another."

A man is in the hospital after police say he was stabbed in the chest with a butcher knife during a fight inside a home in the Logan section of the city.

A group of friends were inside a home on the 1300 block of Ruscomb Street around 1 a.m. Saturday when a 53-year-old man attacked a 52-year-old man with an unknown sharp object, investigators said.

A 41-year-old man tried to intervene but was stabbed in the head by the 52-year-old man, according to investigators. The 52-year-old man then continued fighting the 53-year-old, according to police. The scuffle ended when the 52-year-old man stabbed the 53-year-old in the chest with a butcher knife, investigators said.

Police soon arrived at the scene. The 41-year-old man refused medical attention and was taken to Northwest Detectives for a n interview. The 53-year-old man was taken to the hospital where he is currently in critical condition. The 52-year-old was taken into custody without incident.

An arrest has been made in an intentional hit-and-run that left a young Philadelphia woman without a leg and ultimately, without a home Friday, according to officials.

Police told NBC10 Precious Richardson Coleman, 29, turned herself in Saturday around 11 a.m. in connection to the incident and was charged with attempted murder and related offenses.

The news comes after police announced they found the white SUV used in the hit-and-run in Philadelphia's Fern Rock section overnight.

The Dodge Durango was towed from its parking spot in an alley on the 6000 block of Marvine St. at 10 a.m., less than 24 hours after Richardson Coleman allegedly used the vehicle to run down her romantic rival, police said.

The intentional hit-and-run took place at 2:19 p.m. Friday outside Beatrice Spence's home in the city's Nicetown neighborhood, severing her leg.

The 24-year-old, nicknamed De-De, was rushed to Temple University Hospital in critical condition, according to investigators.

"I heard a car rev up, and then I heard a bunch of people screaming," said neighbor Jayson Massey. "Honestly, I thought she was dead. She was not responsive."

After striking Spence, surveillance video shows the Durango, with front-end damage, race eastbound on Wingohocking Street.

The driver of the SUV lives just a few blocks away and knew the victim, investigators said.

Spence's family told NBC10 that Richardson Coleman and victim were in an ongoing fight over a man — recently throwing bricks at each other's windows.

"She came back, the driver came back and she ran her over. She ran her over," exclaimed relative Ruby Fields.

Immediately after the crash, the victim's mother rushed to the hospital leaving something cooking on the stove. The house then caught fire, said the family.

No one was injured in blaze, but the home was left in ruins.

Richardson Coleman is being held on $750,000 bail at Riverside Correctional Facility.

Friends and family are mourning a local high school football player who collapsed and died during a training workout Saturday morning.

Ryan Gillyard, a 15-year-old St. Joseph’s Prep football player from Upper Darby, was at spring conditioning training at the school’s practice field on Cecil B. Moore Avenue at 11th Street when he suddenly collapsed. Gillyard was taken to Temple University Hospital where he later died.

Gillyard was a linebacker and running back at the school.

“The St. Joseph’s Prep community is deeply saddened by the tragic death of our freshman Ryan Gillyard and our condolences go out to his parents and family,” said Bill Avington, a spokesman for the school. “Ryan was a great person and someone we were proud to have as part of our community. We will do whatever we can to support his family and friends, especially the members of the freshman class and the football team of which he was a member, and our thoughts and prayers are with them all.”

Gillyard’s final tweet, which was posted early Saturday morning, was retweeted over 200 times as friends and family shared their condolences.

Avington says the school will provide grief counseling services throughout the weekend. He also says special programming will take place Monday so that students, faculty and staff will be able to interact with professional counselors.

Officials have not yet determined a cause of death. They continue to investigate.

St. Joseph's Prep is an independent, Catholic College-prep school for boys in grades 9-12 located in Philadelphia. The school's football team won the Prep School state title last year.

Girl Critical After Being Mauled by Dog

A young girl is in the hospital after she was mauled by a family dog Saturday.

Police say the 3-year-old girl was visiting her grandmother at her home on the 5900 block of Washington Avenue in Philadelphia, shortly after 5 p.m. The girl was being held by her grandmother when the family dog, which police say is a Cane Corso, suddenly attacked.

"We're making the assertion that the dog got jealous that the grandmother was holding the child and the dog attacked the child, mauling it in the head area," said Philadelphia Police Captain Anthony Ginaldi.

Police say the grandmother tried to protect the girl and was bitten on the hands. The girl was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia by responding police officers. She underwent surgery and is currently in critical but guarded condition, according to police.

The girl's grandmother did not need medical attention.

Ginaldi says the dog is owned by the girl's uncle who no longer lives in the home.

"He hasn't been there for awhile and the grandmother has been taking care of the dog," he said.

Ginaldi doesn't believe any charges will be filed against the dog's owner.

"I don't think there's any criminality here at all based on what I understand," he said. "It's just a tragic incident where the grandmother was playing with her granddaughter and the dog attacked her out of jealousy."

The dog was taken away by two animal control officers. Captain Ginaldi told NBC10 he's unsure what will happen to the animal.

"I know that they'll do an evaluation on the dog," he said. "They'll test it. The fate of the dog is gonna be in their hands."

The dog doesn't have a prior history of attacks, according to Ginaldi.

A man is now in custody after he allegedly tried to lure a young girl, exposed himself and urinated in front of her and then crashed several times after fleeing the scene in Bensalem Township.

On Saturday around noon police responded to a report of an attempted child luring on the 3200 block of Claridge Road. An 8-year-old girl told investigators she was outside her home when she was approached by a man, later identified by police as 22-year-old Juan Perez-Juarez, who tried to lure her into his car.

After the girl told him she wasn’t allowed to go with him, Perez-Juarez allegedly left the vehicle, exposed his penis and then urinated in the street. He then fled the scene after being confronted by the girl’s father. Witnesses say he crashed into a pole on the 3100 block of Claridge as he drove away.

“He hit the pole, the pole went flying across and then he just kept on going, zig-zagging up the street,” said Tony Volpe, a witness.

Police say he continued driving away and crashed again into a parked car on Route 1 in Middletown Township before flipping over a guardrail, causing injuries to another driver.
Responding police officers were then able to apprehend him.

Perez-Juarez, who police say is an illegal immigrant born in Guatemala but living in Trenton, New Jersey, is charged with luring a child into a Motor Vehicle, indecent exposure and other related offenses. He was arraigned at the Bensalem Township Police Department around 8 p.m. Saturday. He is currently being held on $200,000 bail.

“It’s disgusting for him to do that to a little girl,” Volpe said. “Thank God that he didn’t touch her or get near her because it could’ve been a lot worse.”

Do you live in one of the most 'bro-y" neighborhood's in the city? Now you can find out because data experts FindTheHome figured it out for you!

Using data like bars, gyms and vices per capita and the percentage of 20 to 34-year-olds, FindTheHome has discovered which neighborhoods are all about the "bro."

Being a "bro" in this day and age can apply to any gender and is all about a person's interests and how one carries oneself, according to FindTheHome.

"The modern bro likes to embody a lifestle of debauchery for as long as he or she possibly can, embarking on binges filled with alcohol and other forms of vice before sweating it out the next day at the gym."

Center City West takes the top prize as Philly's most "bro-y," with a score of 82.4 with the Avenue of the Arts South coming in at a close second.

Dozens of Dirt Bikes, ATVs Confiscated

Dozens of vehicles were confiscated and one person was arrested as Philadelphia Police continued their citywide crackdown on dirt bikes and ATVs over the weekend.

Philadelphia Police, members of the Aviation Unit, the Major Crimes Auto Squad, Criminal Intelligence, Real Time Crime Center and the Delaware Valley intelligence Center all took part in the initiative on Saturday.

In all, 38 ATVs and dirt bikes were confiscated. Police also say they arrested one operator on an outstanding warrant. They have not yet revealed whether any of the confiscated vehicles had been stolen.

The initiative comes a month after police seized 68 ATVs and dirt bikes that were used during a “ride out” in honor of local rapper Meek Mill’s performance at the Wells Fargo Center.

Both dirt bikes and ATVs are illegal on city streets. For years, police have tried to crack down on city dirt bike riders but are not allowed to pursue them due to a department policy which makes it illegal to chase a vehicle that's only committing a moving violation.

Despite being illegal, dirt bike and ATV riding in the streets is a popular activity in Philly, especially during the spring and summer months.

During the crackdown in March, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Dennis Wilson had a warning for riders.

"When we catch you, we're gonna seize them," Wilson said. "You're not gonna be allowed to get them back."
