Fans who went to see "Captain Marvel" at a New Jersey movie theater expected to see Brie Larson on the movie screen, not behind the counter.

"She was kind enough to take time to speak with these young ladies and made this night one they won't forget," wrote @sweet_and_simple. "What an amazing experience."

The movie posted video of her appearance to Instagram. She walked to the front of one theater and addressed the crowd while holding a large cup of soda.

"I just heard that I was on the cups and popcorn and I wanted to come and see for myself," she said before thanking fans.

The movie raked in $153 million domestically and $455 million globally on its opening weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday, making it one of the biggest blockbusters ever led by a woman.

A naked man armed with a gun caused tense moments in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park late Sunday night.

Police received multiple 911 calls around 9:20 a.m. regarding someone firing shots along Belmont Avenue near Belmont Mansion Drive in the city’s Wynnefield Heights neighborhood, investigators said.

No one was struck in the shooting but police got a description of the gunman as standing around 6-feet tall and fleeing into the woods.

Police continued to search for the naked gunman for a couple hours until they got a call from Simpson House on Belmont Avenue that a naked man had come into the lobby of the retirement home community claiming he was just robbed.

Police quickly identified the naked man in the lobby as the suspected gunman from nearby.

They could be seen leading the man, wrapped in a sheet, being led out of the building. They took the man to the hospital for observation.

The man has yet to be charged and isn’t being named.

$77M in Coke Seized at NJ Port in Biggest Bust This Century

Authorities seized thousands of pounds of cocaine worth nearly $80 million in a monster bust at the Port of New York/Newark last month, the biggest such seizure at the port in the 21st century, customs officials said Monday.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection said its officers, along with a team of local, state and federal authorities, seized 3,200 pounds of cocaine worth an estimated $77,000,000 on the street from a shipping container at the port on Feb. 28.

Officials say they found 60 packages with a white powdery substance in the container; a field test showed up positive for cocaine. It was the second-largest cocaine seizure ever at the Port of New York/Newark and the biggest in 25 years, since May 1994, authorities said.

Customs officers turned the drugs over to Homeland Security Investigations agents for further probe. There was no information on where the shipping container was sent from apart from outside the United States, and no details on possible people who may have been involved in the trafficking.

The DEA, Homeland Security Investigations, NYPD, U.S. Coast Guard and New York State Police were also part of the joint operation.

Troy Miller, director of New York field operations for U.S. Customs, said the seizure prevented a "massive quantity of drugs from getting to the streets and in their hands of our children."

Those sentiments were echoed by Keith Corlett, acting superintendent of the New York State Police, and NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill, who added, "The proliferation of illegal drugs in New York City will never be tolerated, neither by law enforcement nor by the people we serve."

If you’re dying to catch some Z’s, Monday’s national “holiday” is for you.

March 11th is National Napping Day. The unofficial holiday falls (appropriately) the day after Daylight Saving Time this year.

While falling asleep at work or school is never a good idea, you can rest assured in the fact that people across social media are also struggling with the time change.

Chugging down coffee and shots of cafecito seems to be a coping mechanism for many tired worker bees. But some organizations took it upon themselves to educate the public about the benefits of naps.

Southern New Hampshire Health shared a graphic about the perks of napping, saying a 20-minute snooze can help relieve stress, increase alertness and revive energy.

According to the National Sleep Foundation, napping can also have psychological benefits. Scheduled napping can even help those suffering from the sleep disorder known as narcolepsy.

Of course, overindulgence is never a good thing. The foundation warns that too much napping can have a negative effect on nighttime sleeping patterns, and may lead to feelings of disorientation and grogginess upon waking up. The organization notes that this “sleep inertia” doesn’t last long, but can be detrimental when one needs to focus or perform a task after waking up.

Foles Signs Something Else: To Be Lululemon Men's Ambassador

Before Nick Foles' big signing news happened Monday, he announced another deal -- and it made history.

Foles, the 2018 Super Bowl MVP and forever-Philly hero, tweeted Monday that he had signed with fitness clothing brand Lululemon to become the brand’s new ambassador for menswear.

He's the first NFL player to be a brand ambassador for Lululemon.

This happened a few hours before reports surfaced that he had signed a deal to become the Jacksonville Jaguars' new QB.

Lululemon started as a "yoga-inspired" apparel retailer for women. The company expanded to menswear in 2016 in an effort to bolster business.

Having Foles as an ambassador could help Lululemon reach more buyers in the athletic menswear market, which is currently dominated by names like Nike and Under Armour.

Foles tweeted about becoming part of #thesweatlife and said that he’s excited for what’s to come.

Foles teased in his announcement for fans to "stay tuned for that other announcement." Then the Jacksonville news broke later that afternoon.

The fitness clothing brand said that they had landed “the most sought-after free agent in football” as their brand ambassador.

Woman Accused of Killing Former Landlord and Her Friend

A woman was with her young son when she murdered her former landlord and her landlord's friend inside a home in West Norriton, Pennsylvania, investigators said Monday.

Naseema Sami, 43, of Folsom, Pennsylvania, was arrested and charged with murder and other related offenses.

On March 7, Sami and her 6-year-old son arrived at the apartment of Lila Frost, 78, on West Indian Lane in West Norriton Township, according to police. Investigators say Sami was looking for help from Frost, who had been her landlord 20 years prior.

Sami entered Frost's apartment through an unlocked door but no one was inside, police said. She then answered a knock at the door and allowed Frost's friend, Lorraine Gigliello, 68, into the apartment. When Gigliello reached for a phone to call police, Sami attacked and killed her, according to investigators.

Sami then killed Frost when she arrived at the apartment later, police said.

Three days later on March 10, police arrived at Frost's apartment after responding to a neighbor's call for a wellness check. Once inside, police found the bodies of Frost and Gigliello inside the bathroom and kitchen. They also say they discovered Sami and her son underneath a bed.

Sami had allegedly tried to clean the apartment to remove evidence of the attack.

"Throughout this time, the defendant's six-year-old son was present and witnessed the murders," Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said. "He also witnessed his mother attempting to clean up the scene."

Sami was taken into custody and arraigned on Monday.

Autopsies determined Frost and Gigliello both died from head trauma and their deaths were each ruled a homicide.

A bouquet of flowers and a West Norriton police vehicle sat outside Frost's home Monday afternoon.

'Highly Aggressive' Bull Mounts Car, Attacks Its Owner: Cops

A “highly aggressive” bull attacked its owner and charged at police officers after it got out of its enclosure, police said.

Officers got several calls about a cow approaching cars on Houses Corner Road in Sparta, New Jersey around 3 p.m. on Friday, Sparta Township police said on Monday.

One of the calls was from the animal's owner, who told police the cow was actually a bull, and said the animal had been acting “highly aggressive” recently.

When Sparta Police Officer Arlene Lippencott got to Houses Corner Road, the bull’s owner was already at the scene in her own car, police said.

The bull initially started following his owner's car up a gravel road toward the farm, but soon began bumping against the car and trying to mount it, according to police.

When the owner arrived at the farm, she got out of her car and tried to get the bull to go through a gate and back into its enclosure, at which point the bull started attacking her and throwing her around, police said.

“[The owner] was screaming that the bull was going to kill her and needed to be shot,” police said.

Officer Lippencott tried to distract the bull and managed to get the woman into her police car, at which point several other officers and EMS arrived at the farm, according to police.

Two other officers put the bull down after it charged at their police car, the department said.

The bull's owner was taken to the hospital, where she got stitches on her head and was treated for lacerations and bruises on her upper body, police said.

She told police the bull had recently attacked her husband, but said that attack hadn’t been as serious.
