An investigation is underway after a woman was found shot to death inside a car in Willingboro Township, New Jersey.

Police were called to Medley Lane around 8:20 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived they found the body of Maribely Lopez, 21, of Lindenwold, inside her vehicle. Investigators say she had been shot to death. No arrests have been made and police haven’t released a description of any suspects.

Thursday night, a SWAT team descended on a home on Marboro Lane, about a block away from where Lopez’s body was found. A source close to the investigation told NBC10 the search was connected to her death. They also searched through neighboring homes for surveillance footage.

Investigators have not yet revealed if they found anything during the search.

“I was shocked with the police coming up to my door and basically asking questions about a car over here,” Bo Bowens, a resident in the neighborhood, said.

One witness told NBC10 she saw the same car Lopez was found dead in on the other side of the street Wednesday but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Lopez’s death comes three weeks after another 21-year-old was found shot to death inside a car in Willingboro.

“I’m hoping they’re not connected,” Terrence Walker, another Willingboro resident, told NBC10. “These things out here, they don’t happen like that.”

If you have any information on the shooting, please call Willingboro Township Police at 609-877-6958 or Burlington County Central Communications at 609-265-7113.

NJ Man on FBI’s Most Wanted Fugitive List Captured

A New Jersey man on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list was captured in Maryland, according to authorities.

Lamont Stephenson's arrest took place in Prince George's County, the FBI Newark Field Office said in a press conference Thursday afternoon.

"I am proud to announce that after 147 days on the Top 10 list Lamont Stephenson was arrested this morning," Greg Ehrie, Special Agent in Charge of the Newark FBI office, said during Thursday's press conference.

Stephenson was placed on the list in October 2018. He was wanted for the 2014 strangulation killing of Olga DeJesus and her dog in Newark, the FBI previously said. Newark police officers found DeJesus and her dog unresponsive in bed at a residence.

Stephenson, 43 and from Newark, New Jersey, was known to have contacts in Virginia and the Carolinas, according to the FBI.

The FBI Newark Field Office said that Stephenson's arrest was in conjunction with the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, Newark Police Department, Prince George's County Police Department and with the Metropolitan D.C. Police Department.

"Getting Mr. Stephenson was a goal — a longstanding goal — by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and I am just so happy for the family, that this may move toward some measure of closure with regard to this very serious matter," Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II said during the press conference.

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said the DeJesus family "received closure."

According to Ehrie, an investigation is ongoing. No further information was provided pertaining to what Stephenson has been up to since DeJesus' death or if he is connected to any additional crimes.

Ambrose, Stephens and Ehrie commended the value of the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list.

Stephenson will be extradited to New Jersey where he will face charges, Ehrie said.

Felix DeJesus, Jr., brother of the victim, thanked the efforts of the authorities that led to Stephenson's arrest.

"I know that she is looking down on me right now and she can finally rest in peace," he said. "Thank you everyone for being a part of this."

Felix said he was overwhelmed after receiving the phone call that an arrest was made, a moment he said he thought about "every day" for four years.

"I didn't stop because my sister has two kids and because of them I kept on with the case, keeping it alive," he said.

During the press conference, the victim's father said in Spanish that the arrest won't bring his daughter back but at least the family knows that Stephenson will pay and that "there is justice."

It is unclear if Stephenson has already retained an attorney.

SEPTA Set to Resume Regional Rail Service in Coatesville

SEPTA's coming back to Coatesville.

After more than two decades away, Chester County and SEPTA officials announced Thursday that regional rail service is set to return to the city. The move is part of a larger effort to revitalize Coatesville.

"Each train coming into the new station will bring with it developments and businesses offering more jobs and more opportunities," Commissioner Kathi Cozzone said in a news release. "And each train leaving the new station will give access to regional jobs and greater economic opportunities for those living in Coatesville."

SEPTA ceased regional rail operations in the city back in 1996 due to low ridership. In the intervening 23 years, however, Coatesville has seen its population grow, which prompted SEPTA to consider bringing back service, SEPTA General Manager Jeffrey Knueppel said.

The city is currently served by Amtrak's Keystone Service. The nearest SEPTA train service is the Paoli/Thorndale line, which goes only as far as the Thorndale station, about 3 miles from the current Coatesville Amtrak station.

The new train station would be located at Third Avenue and Fleetwood Street, and service would not begin until the station's completion. However, though the county commissioners promised $1 million to fund a parking lot for the station, it's still unclear when the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will complete its construction.

"This check for $1 million shows that we are very serious about getting this project started, and we now turn to other partners, including PennDOT, for a firm date for completion of the train station," Commissioner Terence Farrell said. "It's what the Coatesville community deserves."

SEPTA Regional Rail Schedule Changes Coming Next Week

Changes are coming to the commute for SEPTA regional rail riders Monday morning and they have nothing to do with Daylight Saving Time.

Starting Sunday, SEPTA is making schedule changes to weekday service on most of its regional rail lines, calling the changes “improvements,” so check your train time before you head to the station for your Monday morning commute.

Riders on the Lansdale/Doylestown and Paoli/Thorndale lines should expect “significant adjustments” due to construction, SEPTA said in a news release. For some other lines, trains will depart from stations earlier.

"It's normally departure times that are what customers are going to notice as a difference," SEPTA assistant general manager of operations Scott Sauer said.

The new schedules “are designed to improve service reliability, on-time performance and to support a track rehabilitation project along the Lansdale/Doylestown Line,” SEPTA said.

"We are constantly looking at how our trains are running," Sauer said.

More than 109,000 commuters use the impacted regional rail lines on the average weekday, SEPTA said. The Paoli/Thorndale (19,604 riders) and Lansdale/Doylestown (15,318) are the most used routes.

The only lines without changes are the Airport, Cynwyd and Chestnut Hill East lines, SEPTA said. The Wilmington/Newark Line will continue to run on a special temporary schedule until March 22. The Delaware line will then revert back to the Dec. 16, 2018 schedule.

Weekend schedules will remain the same.

Click here to download the new schedule for your line.

SEPTA laid out these service changes:

Chestnut Hill West: Changes include adjustments to departure times for select trains including trains departing earlier than previously scheduled. Inbound Train #860 will now depart from Chestnut Hill West Station at 7:25 p.m. and will operate 18 minutes earlier at all stations.

Fox Chase: New morning service has been added. Select inbound and outbound trains will operate earlier than currently scheduled. Inbound train #8721 will now depart from Fox Chase at 7:54 a.m. and will operate 15 minutes earlier than previously scheduled at all stations. Inbound Train #8517 has been renumbered to #6817 and will now depart from Fox Chase at 8:28 a.m. This train will operate 19 minutes earlier at all stations and will no longer operate continued service to Paoli/Thorndale Line stations. New Outbound train #6810 will depart from Suburban Station at 6:08 a.m. and will provide local service from Center City to Fox Chase. Late night outbound Train #860 will now depart from Suburban Station at 7:58 p.m. and will operate 18 minutes earlier at all stations.

Glenside Combined: Changes include adjustments to service due to construction on the Lansdale/Doylestown Line. Six trains originating on the line were removed from the schedule and replaced by new trains to maintain similar service levels at Elkins Park and Melrose Park Stations. Customers should refer to the Lansdale/Doylestown Line schedule for more information.

Lansdale/Doylestown: Adjustments were made to the current weekday schedule to support a track rehabilitation project between Gwynedd Valley and Glenside Stations. These service adjustments will allow SEPTA to maintain current service levels during construction. Select trains will operate earlier. Inbound midday trains will operate with hourly service from 8:45 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. instead of every 30 minutes. New outbound Train #3530 will depart from Suburban Station at 7:17 a.m. and will operate with service to Lansdale Station. Inbound train #330 has been renumbered to Train #3530 and will depart from Elwyn at 6:28 a.m. This train will now operate earlier at all stations and will now operate with continued service to Lansdale/Doylestown Line stations to improve on-time performance. Train #3226 which departs from Elwyn Station at 7:23 a.m. will now operate with D stops at University City, 30th Street, Suburban and Jefferson Stations. This train will terminate at Temple University Station and will no longer operate continued service to Manayunk/Norristown Line Stations. Train #3542 departing from Elwyn Station at 8:33 a.m. has been renumbered to Train #1342 and will terminate at Suburban Station. This train will no longer make stops at Jefferson and Temple University Stations or operate continued service to Link Belt Station due to construction on the Lansdale/Doylestown Line.

Paoli/Thorndale Line: To support construction on the Lansdale/Doylestown Line and ongoing Amtrak construction near Paoli Station, changes were made to service patterns and select weekday train departure times. Outbound Train #9741 will now depart from Suburban Station at 4:08 p.m. and operate 20 minutes later all stations to better accommodate customers during the peak travel period.

Warminster: New Train #4815 departing from Warminster at 7:50 a.m. will make stops between Warminster and Jenkintown-Wyncote stations with express service to Center City and continued service to Chestnut Hill West Stations. 'Hello?' Girl Walking Dog Finds Man Tied Up in NJ Car Trunk

A girl walking her dog in New Jersey Thursday morning heard screams coming from the trunk of a car and alerted her mom -- then cops found a man tied up inside, according to authorities, witnesses and the teenager.

The girl, 17-year-old Kayla Rose, told News 4 she was walking along Lindsley Avenue in Irvington around 7:10 a.m. when she heard knocking and scratching coming from the car's trunk.

"I backed up because I was startled, didn't know where it came from. And so I heard it again," Rose said. "I moved closer and I was like, 'Hello?' He said, 'Hello, is there anybody that can help me?'"

Her mother, Marie Banks, called authorities, who made the disturbing discovery. The victim's condition wasn't clear but he was speaking to police, authorities said. The man told cops he was kidnapped overnight by two suspects in Hillside and forced to go to ATMs to withdraw money. Then he was found in a car a few miles away.

It wasn't immediately clear if he knew the suspects, nor could police say how long he was trapped in the vehicle. Prosecutors say he reported being carjacked  around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday; the girl found him nearly 12 hours later. Temperatures dipped into the low 10s overnight in the area, though bitter wind chills in the single digits made it feel colder.

Banks said her daughter told her, "It's like I was just in a horror movie."

The mother told the girl she was a hero.

"As I told my daughter, she saved a life this morning because there's no telling how long this person was locked in this trunk in this frigid weather," Banks said.

Chopper 4 showed an ambulance and several law enforcement vehicles at the scene as a trio of cops stood conversing in the middle of the road. That ambulance took an individual to the hospital, Chopper 4 footage showed.

More than a half-dozen other officers were later seen canvassing the scene as a tow truck hauled away a black sedan. No arrests have been made.

The Union County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case; tips can be given anonymously by phone at 908-654-TIPS (8477) or online at www.uctip.org.
