An 18-year-old was shot and killed Sunday night just two blocks from where Philadelphia rapper Tato Chapo died earlier this weekend.

The victim's body was found in the 6000 block of Angora Terrace in Southwest Philadelphia. Tata Chapo, whose legal name was Tauhid Collins, died on the same street Friday night.

On Sunday evening, Collins' loved ones gathered for a vigil to remember the rapper. Moments after the vigil ended, more gunfire errupted.

The 18-year-old victim, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds to the neck, ear and temple. He died shortly after.

It remains unclear whether the two shootings are related.

On Friday, residents told NBC10 they were shocked by Collins' death.

"To see him lifeless on the ground -- it shook me," Tamika Shipman said.

Collins' mother graduated from nursing school the same day that her son was killed, a family friend said.

"He had a lot of love even when he was alive. I've seen it through my neighbors which are his family and friends," Shipman said.

A jackknifed tractor trailer was stalling traffic on the Vine Street Expressway Monday morning.

The crash on the westbound lanes of Interstate 676, at the junction with Interstate 76, backed up traffic all the way down to 8th Street. Police also closed the onramp to eastbound Interstate 76 as they worked to clear the mess. Some traffic was still getting by on westbound I-76, but it was slow going.

Drivers are advised to take Vine Street to get around the crash.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

16-Year-Old the Latest Victim of SW Philly Teen Shootings

A 16-year-old girl became the latest teenage shooting victim in Southwest Philadelphia when gunfire rang out early Monday morning.

Officers arrived to a house on the 5600 block of Whitby Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. and found the girl shot in the neck and hand, Philadelphia Police Department Cpt. Scott Drissel said. They performed a "scoop and run," a lifesaving measure in which officers transport a person themselves instead of waiting for paramedics, and rushed the girl to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

According to Drissel, there were multiple teenagers at the house, but no adults, when officers arrived. Officers also did not find a gun.

The girl is currently in critical but stable condition, Drissel said. The other teenagers in the house at the time of the shooting are being questioned by police.

The 16-year-old's shooting is one of a spate of recent shootings in Southwest Philadelphia, two of which were fatal.

The first left 17-year-old rapper Tauhid "Tata Chapo" Collins dead on the 5800 block of Angora Terrace Friday night. Then, moments after the end of a Sunday night vigil in which mourners gathered to remember the boy, more shots rang out.

This time, an 18-year-old was hit in the neck, ear and temple. He died at a hospital after his body was found on the 6000 block of Angora Terrace, just two blocks from where Collins died.

Police have not made any arrests in connection to any of the three shootings.

Storm Coming: Snow, Sleet, Rain Headed Our Way Wednesday

Several hours of snow and sleet are possible Wednesday as a winter storm sweeps into the Philadelphia area, slamming right into the Wednesday evening commute.

We've issued a First Alert for all neighborhoods except for southern Delaware. The snow will start mid- to late Wednesday morning west of Philadelphia, and begin falling throughout most neighborhoods by mid-day.

Accumulating snow is likely over much of the region, with some spots needing plows to clear the way during the evening drive home. Highest totals are most likely in our western neighborhoods.

Wednesday evening the freezing precipitation will change over to just rain. Temperatures will warm overnight, and the Thursday morning commute will not see freezing conditions, which means roadways will improve.

So far this season, Philadelphia has gotten just over 10 inches of snow.

We'll get a break after this: the rest of the 10-day forecast looks much milder, with highs in the 40s and 50s.

Stay with the First Alert weather team for frequent updates on this storm, and download the NBC10 app to track the storm as it affects your neighborhood.

Bird, Cat Stolen in Bizarre Pet Store Smash-and-Grab

If "Ashes" the cat could talk, she would have a wild story to tell from this weekend.

The store pet of Diane's Pet Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, began her wild couple days sometime between 3 and 3:45 a.m. Sunday morning. That's when unknown burglars ran a car into the front of Diane's, according to the Central Berks Regional police department.

Ashes and a parrot that the store owner was birdsitting were stolen — or taken hostage? — as three bandits then made off with the two animals, police said.

"It was discovered that the persons involved had then forced the door open and removed a green and red parrot with a white cap in its white cage - as well as 'Ashes,' the store's beloved pet cat," police said in a Facebook post.

By Monday morning, Ashes was returned to the store, apparently without anyone noticing.

The unnamed parrot remains at large, as do the perpetrators of the bizarre smash-and-grab, authorities said.

The owner of the pet store told NBC10 that she was watching the bird for a vacationing friend, and that the parrot is worth about $1,000.

The owner also said that the bandits didn't succeed when they first tried breaking into the store by backing their car into the front door. They later returned, she said, and stole the two animals.

Nothing else was stolen, she said.

Central Berks police said in the Facebook post that anyone with information about the crime should call Officer Matthew Rissmiller or Detective Sgt. Deron Manndel at (610) 779-1100 or county communications at (610) 655-4911.

Did You Get Into the Blue Cross Broad Street Run?

Almost 40,000 people sought the 35,500 spots available in the 2019 Blue Cross Broad Street Run -- and those that won a spot can find out now.

Click here to see if you won the lottery to participate in the Blue Cross Broad Street Run, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

This year’s 10-mile run down Broad Street from North Philadelphia to the Navy Yard in South Philadelphia will be held on Sunday, May 5. The free Health and Wellness Expo will take place on May 3 and May 4 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

NBC10 and Telemundo62 will broadcast the entire race live from start to finish.

You don't need to be a marathoner or an elite sprinter to take part in the race. You just have to be able to complete a sub 15-minute mile, organizers say.

People can register as individuals or as groups of three to five runners, according to organizers.

People who missed out on the race lotto can get a spot by raising (or donating yourself) $500 to five select charities picked by race organizers.

Anyone who has participated in 10 or more previous Broad Street Runs is guaranteed a spot in the race as a "tenured runner." If they didn't apply during the regular lottery registration period, they should alert race organizers if they don't get in on the first turn, organizers said.

This year, runners may notice a new race logo and website. They will also get a nifty race-branded tech shirt.

The race is one of the largest 10-mile road races in the county. The first Broad Street Run was held in 1980 with 1,500 runners and it has since become one of the city's iconic annual events over its 40 years.

“On this milestone anniversary, we are celebrating not only this iconic world-class race, but also the city of Philadelphia itself, which is a huge part of the overall run experience, beginning with the Expo and leading up to actual race day,” Leo Dignan, assistant managing director for the City of Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation, said.

The race raises money for the American Cancer Society, having raised more than $5 million since 1982.
