A fire raging at a popular ski shop in Montgomery County Saturday morning sent plumes of smoke into the air as firefighters from multiple agencies worked to put out the flames.

The three-alarm blaze erupted around 8:45 a.m. at Salter's Ski Shop on the 3100 block of Ridge Pike, in Eagleville, the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said.

Multiple area fire departments were responding as firefighters climbed ladders to attack the flames from above.

At one point, fire crews issued a mayday call when a firefighter could not find a way out of the structure, but the firefighter was eventually found unharmed, the Montgomery County Fire department said.

The building was evacuated and no one was hurt, authorities said.

2 People, Dog Saved by Witnesses After Falling Through Ice

Good Samaritans rescued two people and a dog after they fell through ice on a frozen pond in Wilmington, Delaware, Sunday.

Investigators say the dog spotted geese on the frozen pond at Carousel Park off Limestone Road around 11:30 a.m. The dog chased after the geese and after running around 20 feet out on the pond, fell through the ice. Two people nearby went out onto the pond to try and rescue the dog but fell through the ice as well.

Witnesses nearby used a flotation ring and rope to rescue the two people and the dog. Both people were conscious and alert but also cold, wet and showing early signs of hypothermia when police arrived. They were both taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The dog was also taken to an animal hospital and is listed as stable.

The incident was the second water rescue at Carousel Park this month. On Jan. 18, a man and his dogs fell through the ice. The man threw his dogs to safety but had to be rescued by responding firefighters.

Mill Creek Fire Company firefighter Tyler Bailey told NBC10 the pond appears frozen but the ice is thin.

"People just need to keep their dogs on a leash because they'll see a goose or tennis balls," he said. "And they'll just go right in the water."

Customers Leave Anti-Immigrant Note for Server, Owner Says

The owner of a Burlington County restaurant is speaking out after claiming recent customers left an anti-immigrant message on a bill for a multilingual server.

Santiago Orosco, the owner of Under the Moon Café in Bordentown, said the incident occurred Thursday night when a couple in their mid to late 40’s entered his restaurant.

The couple raved about the food, atmosphere and service, according to Orosco.

“At the end of service our server grabbed the check from the table, told the customers goodnight and thanked them as they were leaving,” Orosco wrote on Facebook.

While the server was closing out for the night, she noticed a written note on the back of the bill which stated, “Don’t Tip Immigrants!”

“I can only assume that they heard our American multi-lingual server speak Spanish to another employee,” Orosco said. “I am utterly shocked at this blatant ignorance.”

Orosco said he’s owned Under the Moon Café for the past 13 years, calling Bordentown an “amazing” community that he and his family are “extremely proud” to be a part of. He also wrote that he was proud of being an immigrant and described how hard his family worked.

“I truly believe that immigrants are key contributors to our society,” Orosco wrote. “Also, I am gay, at Under the Moon we accept all people but not ignorance and discrimination.”

Orosco also had a message for the couple who allegedly left the note, telling them, ‘Please do not come back!’

Orosco ended his Facebook post, which has been shared over 200 times so far, with a bit of irony.

“Your server, who helped create an excellent experience for you, who you discriminated against with written ignorance and no tip, is not an immigrant,” Orosco wrote. “She is of Spanish descent, born in America and is multi-lingual.”

Busy Bridge to Reopen After Months of Construction

A busy Delaware bridge that spans the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal has been under construction for months and is now set to reopen.

The News Journal of Wilmington reports the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the St. Georges Bridge will reopen by Thursday. The bridge was closed for a $3.7 million construction project in September, forcing thousands of commuters to instead use the packed Sen. William V. Roth Jr. Bridge.

Dozens of floor beams along the St. Georges Bridge were replaced, as were many of the bridge's joint strip seals, bolts and rivets.

Tim Boyle of the Army Corps' Philadelphia District has said the repairs on the bridge built in 1941 are done on an as-needed basis. He says the recent repairs were for normal wear and tear.

Olga’s Diner Returning to South Jersey

A South Jersey diner is making a return more than a decade after it closed at a busy Burlington County intersection.

Olga's Diner is making a comeback of sorts in Marlton.

Crews demolished the original diner, with its hard-to-miss sign, at routes 70 and 73 about two years ago to make way for an office building.

The new Olga's is now under construction just a half-mile away from the original site, diner owners confirm to NBC10.

The owners expect the new diner to open sometime this spring.

Built in 1959, Olga's once attracted hordes of travelers headed to and from the Jersey shore. It was shuttered in 2008 after years of declining business and financial difficulties.

School Bus Crash Traps Kids Under Power Lines in NJ

A school bus somehow veered off the road and smashed into a utility pole in New Jersey Monday, trapping children under power lines, authorities say.

Eight students and one adult were on the bus when it crashed near Long Hill Road and Meyersville Road in Long Hill around 8:30 a.m. Chopper 4 over the scene showed the full-sized bus partially in the woods, power lines down on top of it.

Children were trapped inside; Chopper 4 showed them moving throughout the bus. The utility company shut down the power so the kids could get out safely. They were helped off the bus a short time later by firefighters and taken to their respective schools in Millington and Gillette.

No serious injuries were reported, though multiple ambulances responded.

Authorities initially said a second vehicle was involved in the crash, but later said it appeared to have only been the bus. County officials are looking into what caused the accident.
