Tens of thousands of high chairs from a popular baby company have been recalled because the legs can detach from the seat, posing fall and injury hazards.

Skip Hop, Inc., of New York announced the recall of its TUO Convertible High Chairs — with charcoal gray or silver/white with clouds fabric — late last week. They have a reversible seat pad, removable tray, 5-point harness, beechwood footrest and legs. The high chairs can be converted into a toddler chair.

The recalled products have following date codes: HH102016, HH11/2016, HH3/2017, HH4/2017, HH5/2017, HH6/2017, HH7/2017, HH8/2017, HH9/2017, HH092917, HH010518, HH030518, HH05182018, HH092717, HH05312018. This code is located on the back of the chair, above the "WARNING" section.

In total, about 32,300 high chairs sold between December 2016 and September 2018 at places like Babies "R" Us, Buy Buy Baby, Target, Amazon and other children specialty stores nationwide were called. Roughly a quarter of the recalled chairs were sold in Canada.

Skip Hop has received 17 reports of the legs detaching, though no injuries have been reported.

Anyone with questions can call Skip Hop at 888-282-4674. The company said customers should stop using the chairs immediately and fill out a form at skiphoprecall.com for a refund.

Stranger Gives Up 1st Class Seat for Mom and Baby on Flight

A few weeks before Christmas, a stranger’s act of kindness for a mother and baby on a Philly-bound flight is inspiring people across the country.

Kelsey Zwick and her 11-month-old daughter Lucy were on board American Airlines Flight 588 from Orlando to Philadelphia Thursday.

“I was pushing a stroller, had a diaper bag on my arm and also lugging an oxygen machine for my daughter,” Zwick said.

Zwick was taking her daughter to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for treatment for chronic lung disease.

“Honestly, I was already so grateful to be on that plane,” Zwick told NBC News. “Not everybody gets the opportunity to get the best care for your children. I was just grateful to be on that flight.”

As Zwick sat with Lucy, a flight attendant approached her and told her that someone in First Class wanted to switch seats with her. Zwick didn’t know how to react initially.

“At first, I didn’t really understand what she was saying,” Zwick said. “When I realized that it was someone showing kindness to us, I just started crying. Not so much it being a seat in first class. It wasn’t really about that. It’s just, that somebody saw us and wanted to do an act of kindness. So it just touched my heart.”

Zwick waited at the gate when the flight landed to thank the Good Samaritan personally but was unable to find him. So she went on social media and shared her story on her Facebook page.

“My posts are never public, usually,” Zwick said. “And I thought, ‘Hey, maybe American Airlines will see this and will connect us so that he knows how much it meant to us.' So I went to bed and when I woke up, I went, 'Oh my goodness.' It was everywhere."

The post went viral and has been shared more than 435,000 times.

The road hasn’t been easy for Zwick, Lucy and Lucy’s twin sister Eva. Zwick found out 17 weeks into her pregnancy that she had twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, a disease of the placenta that affects identical twin pregnancies. The morning Zwick and her husband found out, they flew to Houston to have fetal surgery and she delivered her twin daughters at 29 weeks.

"You never expect this to happen. But I think for us, it’s really a story of faith. It stretched our faith. It gave us hope every day that God brought these children into the world, so he has big plans for them,” Zwick said.

For Zwick, the obstacles her family has faced made the stranger’s act of kindness all the more powerful.

“When he gave up that seat, I was so emotional because we had such a year,” she said. “And someone seeing me and saying they wanted to do something kind, it touched my heart.”

As Zwick continues to search for the stranger to thank him, she hopes her story will inspire others.

"What I really hope from all of this is that it made someone’s day and inspired them to pay it forward,” Zwick said. “But I hope it goes beyond the holidays, beyond December."

NJ Student Killed in Head-on Crash Mourned at Funeral

The 20-year-old New Jersey college student who was killed in a crash while acting as a designated driver for friends was mourned in an emotional funeral mass Monday,

Michael Sot, of Clark, New Jersey, died days after his car was hit near The College of New Jersey campus in Ewing. Four other students were injured in the head-on crash on Pennington Road, about a mile from the campus, and two of them remain in critical condition.

His hearse got a motorcycle police escort, as so many at what was a standing room-only funeral mass remembered such a promising friend.

Memories of Sot went back to grade school among many of his friends at the service. Remy Sirc called him "a lovable person," and Julia Sapia said, "He was just such a positive person. He never had anything bad to say about anybody."

"If you describe the perfect individual, if would be Michael Sot," she said.

Neighbor Isabel Garcia recalled, "He would bring my son every day to school from my house. He was a really, really good kid."

Sot had been making shuttle runs as the designated driver to an off-campus party in the early morning hours last Sunday when an allegedly drunk driver crossed the yellow line and hit his car, police said. The driver is expected to be charged with vehicular homicide, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said.

"He just stepped up, wanted to do it, be a good driver like he always says," said fraternity brother Eric Matteson. "No surprise at all."

Sot leaves behind a younger brother and a family that was proud of the young man who was so responsible as a designated driver.

TCNJ President Kathryn A. Foster said in a statement last week, "Michael was an outstanding student, and a trusted and caring friend with a bright future ahead of him."

Telemundo Exclusive: 'El Chapo’s' Wife Speaks Out Amid Trial

Emma Coronel Aispuro yearns for a calm life.

"(I want) to be calm, to be somewhere in the world where we can be at ease [...] I don’t dream of big things," said the 29-year-old former beauty queen. "Tranquility, happiness, nothing out of the ordinary".

But that is not the life she has had.

Coronel, the wife of Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, now lives a life closely followed in the public eye and the trial of her husband, currently in federal courts in New York has led to unprecedented public interest inside and outside the United States, not only because of the charges against him, but also because of the legend behind the famous kingpin who is said to be the leader of the most powerful cartel in Mexico.

However, she insists she would not change anything about her life and reveals her truth to Noticias Telemundo in an exclusive interview with journalists Marisset Vereni and Rebecca Smith.

"I am (happy) with the life that I have, of the life that I was given, of the husband that I have, of the daughters that I have, of the family that I have... I am very satisfied. I have also had hard times, but I have always said that God does not put things in your path that he isn’t sure you will overcome”, she said with a solemn look during the two-on-one.

The daughter of a farmer, Coronel was born in Los Angeles and married Guzman as a teenager on her 18th birthday according to several reports. In the last decade, the couple welcomed twins, Maria Joaquina and Emely, also born in Los Angeles and who are said to speak fluent English.

But that warm welcome and “peaceful” life didn’t last. Now Coronel accompanies her husband on his third arrest, every single day in federal court, something she admits is "very hard." But she hasn’t given up.

"I think it’s what any wife would do in my place, be with her husband in difficult times," Coronel explained. "In one way or another so that he feels, and sees me present, and feels my support."

Guzman’s fate will not be known for at least three months and until then Coronel and their seven-year-old daughters pray for him. Although they don’t know what the future holds, she doesn’t like to think about the possibility of an unhappy ending, one separating the father of her kids from their family.

"I prefer to keep my mind concentrated on that everything will be fine for him and for us," said the mother.

"El Chapo" faces 17 counts for alleged links to drug trafficking in the US and Mexico and, although cameras have not been allowed in court since the start of his trial on November 5, his name resonates in global headlines. And he likes the attention, Coronel says.

"You have to be honest, I think he did like it, he does like it a little," said Coronel with a soft smile referring to that public prominence. At the same time, she stressed the necessity of that coverage so that "media pressure is present and everything can be clearer and everyone can see what really happens" in that courtroom.

"El Chapo" was extradited to New York from Mexico in January 2017 and charged with several counts in multiple states. Coronel has not been able to spend time with her husband since his capture and a judge denied her request on November 8 to give him a hug. Even so, the faithful and loyal wife continues in her struggle to reunify her family, in a home that she says never had any suspicious activity within its walls, until then she’ll continue showing up to court.

"It's something that for me [...] it's good for me, it makes me feel good to be able to see him, to be able to know what's going on and that he feels that I am here for him, supporting him," said Coronel.

The special will air tonight at 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. CT and 7 p.m. PDT) on Telemundo. Click here to watch live in Spanish. An updated video with subtitles will be posted here after the story has aired.

Athletes, Community Rally Around Teen Battling Cancer

Anthony Myers has dominated on the football field since he was in kindergarten. The now 16-year-old old was nicknamed “the secret weapon” when he was just a tot playing flag football because nobody could catch him.

“I just like the team aspect,” Myers said of the game. “You’re playing the game you love with your brothers.”

So when Myers met the Philadelphia Eagles a few weeks back at their home game against the Giants, he was more than excited to say the least.

“It’s something I’ll never forget,” he said.

But the meeting came under tough circumstances for the Berks Catholic High School sophomore. He woke up one morning in October and immediately started having a seizure. After his mom rushed him to the hospital, the family got the worst news they could imagine. Myers was diagnosed with Stage 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma, a form of brain cancer.

Days after his diagnosis, his entire community stepped up to make sure he felt loved and supported. Susan McFadden, the parent of another Berks Catholic student, immediately jumped into action alongside other parents.

“I felt helpless,” McFadden said. “I felt like I can’t do anything about the cancer but I can do something to help them with this fight.”

The group of parents did everything they could to help the Myers family, creating a website as well as t-shirts and organizing fundraisers and social media accounts to spread his story. They coined the term, "Team 17 Strong," which has come to represent everyone's support for Myers, #17.

But the local community members aren’t the only ones thinking of Myers. His message has spread to athletes across the country.

Several high profile sports figures sent videos to Myers wishing him well, including Villanova basketball head coach Jay Wright, New Orleans Saints linebacker Alex Anzalone, and Philadelphia 76ers guard JJ Redick.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, who reps the same #17 as Anthony, invited the teen and his team to the Birds' home game against the Giants.

“It took my mind off of things,” Myers said of the trip to the Linc. “It was a cool experience seeing all the players I look up to.”

As for the outpouring of support from the community, it’s not stopping anytime soon. Organizers will host a spaghetti dinner at Victor Emmanuel II in Reading on December 19. They will then host a Beef and Beer event at St. Catherine's Social Hall on January 19 which will include music, dancing, raffles, a cigar bar, and more. Both of these events will raise money for Myers. And while organizers work to plan the events, the Myers family couldn’t be more thankful.

“We use the term silver linings,” Anthony’s father, Ed, explained. “When you see a community and many good people come together to rally around someone who is having a difficult time, it rekindles the understanding of the human spirit and that many good things do happen in this world.”

And though the community realizes emotional support for Myers is paramount, the financial aspect of the disease isn’t lost on them. Some organizers put together a GoFundMe page to raise money for the Myers family in the hopes of giving Myers the chance to receive whatever medical care is necessary.

While many parents are behind the scenes working to support the family, friends and classmates are chipping in as well. His classmates and teammates have worked together to sell t-shirts and to challenge neighboring districts to get in on the sales. Anthony says the support from everyone helps him every single day.

“It helps me every day knowing there’s people that really care about me,” Myers said. “It shows goodness can be brought out of a bad situation.”

Myers’ most recent surgery went well, his dad said, and now the family is waiting to decide which steps to take next in his treatment.

In the meantime, Myers hasn’t stopped fighting. After being diagnosed in October, Myers was forced to take a quick break from the game he loves, but was eventually cleared to play in time for a playoff game. And what happened on his first game back in the playoffs? #17 scored not one, but two touchdowns.

Police are searching for a serial robber who has targeted several women in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

The suspect has robbed and attacked five women from behind between Dec. 1 and Dec. 8, police said. During each incident, which have all taken place within a three-mile area, the suspect pulled the victims down by the neck or shoulders before robbing them, according to investigators.

The incidents took place at the following times and locations in Norristown.

  • 4 a.m. on Dec. 1 at Airy Street and Haws Avenue
  • 7 a.m. on Dec. 1 at Stanbridge Street and Haws Avenue
  • 7 a.m. on Dec. 2 on the 500 block of Haws Avenue
  • 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Fornance and W. Marshall streets
  • 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 on the 700 block of Noble Street

“The extent of what he’s done so far is to physically wrestle the women to the ground,” Norristown Police Chief Mark Talbot said. “He tends to come up pretty quickly so nobody has said that they suspected anything was going to happen.”

Investigators say none of the victims were seriously injured during any of the incidents though they fear the suspect could escalate his behavior. They’ve instituted additional patrols in the area as they continue to search for him.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s to mid-30s with a light to medium complexion standing between 5-foot-10 and six feet with a medium to heavy build. Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and either jeans or sweatpants. They also say he may have some facial hair.

If you have any information on the suspect or incidents, please call Norristown Police at 610-270-0977. You can also leave an anonymous tip by calling 610-278-TIPS.

Residents fled their Rittenhouse Square homes overnight after a fire sent smoke through their luxury high-rise. A firefighter and three residents suffered injuries.

Three people suffered smoke inhalation in the fire that broke out on the 29th floor of The Dorchester on Rittenhouse Square condos around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

People cleared the 32-story condo building fled out into the cold night after alarms blasted. Three residents suffered smoke inhalation and a firefighter seemed to be in good spirits as he was taken out of the building on a stretcher and treated at the hospital.

The nearby Rittenhouse Hotel opened up its lobby to about 100 residents while they waited to be let back into the building. The American Red Cross also assisted.

Firefighters cleared the scene and residents were let back in before daybreak.

Allan Domb, who rents units within in the building through his real estate company, praised the response of firefighters. He said that safety measures in place, along with the firefighting efforts, kept the blaze basically contained to a single unit.

No word yet on what caused the fire, which left windows broken out on two sides of the building.

The Dorchester opened in 1963 and offers one-, two- and three-bedroom homes along with a 24-hour doorman, fitness center, rooftop pool and other luxury amenities, according to its website.

Jimmy Dean Sausage Links Recalled for Metal Pieces

Attention Jimmy Dean sausage lovers: check your freezer because your links might be under recall due to possible metal contamination.

Kentucky-based CTI Foods LLC has recalled more than 29,000 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat pork and poultry products that may be contaminated with metal pieces, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said on Monday.

There haven't been any reports of "adverse reactions" thus far, but the government still classified the recall as a high health risk, defined as a "reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death."

Under recall are: 23.4-oz. pouches of “Jimmy Dean HEAT ’n SERVE Original SAUSAGE LINKS Made with Pork & Turkey” with a "use by" date of Jan. 31, 2019. The sausages have the case code A6382168, and a time stamp range of 11:58 through 01:49. The back of the packaging also includes the number “EST. 19085.”

The government was notified on Dec. 10 of five complaints of metal pieces found in the sausages.

Jimmy Dean said in a separate release about the voluntary recall that the consumers who complained had spotted small, string-like fragments of metal in the product.

About 2,845 cases of the product were made at one plant location on Aug. 4.

The sausages were shipped to an establishment in Tennessee then distributed to retail stores, the FSIS said.

It's not immediately clear how many states and which retailers sold the potentially contaminated product.

Jimmy Dean spokesman Worth Sparkman said "there's always a little post investigation" and that the FSIS would eventually publish the list of retailers. A USDA spokeswoman confirmed that list will be posted on the FSIS website here when available.

Sparkman noted CTI Foods "wanted to get the news out" on the recall so that anybody who might have the product can look for it in their fridge and discard it.

Consumers should throw away the affected sausages or return them to the store where they were purchased.

Those with questions can call the Jimmy Dean customer service line at (855) 382-3101. The toll-free USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline 1-888-MPHotline (1-888-674-6854) is available in English and Spanish from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET on weekdays.

'Drop the Baby!' Dramatic Police Body Cam Shows Fire Rescue

$

Harrowing police body cam footage shows a group of police officers working quickly to rescue a family from a burning second-floor apartment, one of them scaling the house to hand off children and grandparents to his colleagues below as they shouted his name from below.

One of the rescuing officers was off-duty Port Authority Police Officer John Shaughnessy, who was just coming out the door of his North Brunswick townhouse with his dog about 10:30 p.m. when he saw flames leaping from the first floor of condo units just 50 yards from his own.

Shaughnessy sprang into duty, dropping his dog off and immediately running to the fire in the Governor's Pointe condos on Albury Way to join other first responders in banging on doors and windows to wake people up and get them out.

Just as they came back to where they started, they got wind of a family trapped on a second floor balcony.

"The whole entire walkway that would be their front door was engulfed in flames so the only way for them to come out was the balcony and even that was close to the flames," Shaughnessy said.

Dramatic body camera footage provided by the North Brunswick Police Department shows the harrowing rescue: one of the responding officers, Joseph Grassco, climbed up to the balcony and started lowering the family members -- two grandparents and two young children -- down to Shaughnessy and others.

The other officers were heard shouting, "Joey! Joey!" and directing him as he dropped the children into the arms of the officers below.

A neighbor caught Shaughnessy on video as he ran from the burning building with one of the children, a girl about 4 years old, cradled in his arms. Her little brother, about six months old, was also lowered down safely.

"She grabbed me, put her arms around me and I just ran across the road as fast as I could." Shuaghnessy said. "I didn't realize how close the flames were to the balcony until I saw the video."

The children were calm and unharmed, he said, and his neighbor bundled them up and looked after them -- with the help of popular kids show PAW Patrol --until they were able to be collected.

Everyone got of the condo alive thanks to the work of the North Brunswick Fire and Police departments, he said, although many of the units will have to be demolished.

"We are happy to report that in the end, there were no serious injuries,"
said North Brunswick Police Captain Brian Hoiberg.

Girl Gives Lost $3 to Cops; They Give It Back 14 Years Later

Twelve-year-old Paige Woodie found $3 on the street in Monmouth Beach in 2004, and like the Girl Scout she once was, dutifully walked to the police department and turned the money in to officers.

Some 14 years later, the police appeared at her front door with an envelope.

Turns out the Monmouth Beach Police Department had held onto the money in evidence all those years. Since no one ever claimed it, they returned it to Woodie -- though she inadvertently got a little scare first.

"They said 'do you remember what you did in 2004,'" Woodie told News 4. "I looked back to 2004 - I couldn't have done anything that bad."

That's when police reminded her about the money and handed it over.

"It's a Christmas miracle," she said.

Woodie's not actually $3 richer, though; she has to split the money with her friend Jackie Bradley, who was with her when they found it and turned it in.

"I think we should all expect our children to do that and really expect nothing less from them. If you raise your kids right they're going to be honest and they're going grow up to be honest and hopefully that's what we can all take from the story," Monmouth Beach Police Sgt. Jeff Godwin told News 4.

SEPTA Gets Millions to Improve 30th Street Stop

SEPTA riders can expect some upgrades to one of the busiest stations in Philadelphia. The transit agency is set to receive a $15 million federal grant to modernize it 30th Street Station subway and trolley stop.

The modernization project will include the installation of new stairs, escalators, elevators and a ramp to Drexel Square, SEPTA said in a statement Monday. Additional plans include an expanded mezzanine area, new lighting and more bicycle parking.

The 30th Street Station serves the Market-Frankford Line, SEPTA’s most heavily traveled route, as well as five trolley routes. The upgrades will improve accessibility, passenger flow and increase station capacity, SEPTA said.

The grant comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation BUILD Grant program and will fund about 39 percent of the $38 million project. Brandywine Realty Trust has committed $2 million as part of an additional $23 million in state, local and private funding for the project.

U.S. Senator Pat Toomey, R-Pa., congratulated SEPTA and Philadelphia on the award, saying in part "this grant will finance improvements that makes travel in the city easier for millions of commuters and visitors."

“I was proud to appeal directly to (Department of Transportation) Secretary (Elaine) Chao in support of this grant and look forward to seeing the benefits of DoT’s investment in SEPTA,” U.S. Senator Bob Casey, D-Pa., said.

U.S. Representative Dwight E. Evans, D-Pa., who represents the district of Philadelphia that includes the station, also weighed in saying “the improvements planned for 30th Street Station are regionally significant, and the economic impacts of this type of project are precisely the investments in success and opportunity the BUILD Grant is intended to support.”
