Chesco Neighbors Honor Mother Missing Since April

A Chester County community came together Friday night to raise money for the family of a 43-year-old woman who vanished in the spring.

Anna Maciejewska went missing the morning of April 10 and hasn’t been seen since. Her husband, Allen Gould, said she was in a “panic” and never arrived at her job at Voya Financial in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

NBC News published a report on her disappearance that included interviews with family members who claimed she abruptly canceled a scheduled trip to her native Poland.

“It’s heartbreaking to think the annual trip they all took together between Christmas and New Year won’t happen this year,” neighbor Ashley May, the organizer of Friday’s fundraiser, said. “I will go to any event for her.”

The trip is an annual tradition for Maciejewska-Gould who planned on bringing her 4-year-old son with her to visit her father on his 80th birthday, according to her nephew. The family members also said Maciejewska-Gould called out of work the week of April 3, which was unusual for her.

In July, Maciejewska-Gould’s family from Poland came to the Malvern area to get the latest on the search and to meet with Pennsylvania State Police and talk to her husband.

Officials said her husband was the last person to see Maciejewska-Gould alive. She was driving her 2011 Navy Blue Audi A4 with the Pennsylvania license plate HTF 2919 at the time of her disappearance.

Sharpton to Visit Rapper Meek Mill in Chester State Prison

The Rev. Al Sharpton will visit imprisoned rapper Meek Mill on Monday, joining the growing chorus of activists and celebrities who have demanded the Philadelphia musician's release.

Sharpton, a well-known civil rights activist from New York City, said he planned to visit Mill at Chester State Prison in the small city south of Philadelphia. He talked about the upcoming trip during a rally by his group, the National Action Network (NAN) Saturday in Harlem, New York.

"Just because someone does something that is wrong, does not give you the right to do wrong to them," Sharpton told a gathering. "The sentence must fit the violation."

His group, NAN, said in a statement that lending support to Mill is consistent with its long history of "criminal justice reform efforts."

"In the 1990’s, Rev. Sharpton and others helped Tupac Shakur get out of solitary confinement at the request of his mother and NAN has been monitoring cases across the country," NAN said in a statement Saturday, which also noted the group's "criminal justice reform efforts."

Mill, born Robert Rihmeek Williams, has become a nationally-recognized figure in recent weeks after a Philadelphia Common Pleas judge sentenced him to jail for probation violations.

The judge sentenced Mill to two to four years in state prison. Twice in recent years, Judge Genece Brinkley ruled that Mill violated his probation by being associated with an alleged fight at a St. Louis airport and being charged with popping wheelies on a dirt bike in New York City.

Activists and renowned musicians from Colin Kaepernick to Jay-Z have pointed to his jailing as symbolic of what they describe as harsh treatment of blacks by the criminal justice system.

Julius "Dr. J" Erving and Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins took part in a Center City #FreeMeek" rally.

Kaepernick said in social media posts that he spoke with Mill in prison and said the rapper was "in good spirits."

Jay-Z wrote in a New York Times op-ed that the Mill has "been stalked by a system that considers the slightest infraction a justification for locking him back inside."

"Consider this: Meek was around 19 when he was convicted on charges relating to drug and gun possession, and he served an eight-month sentence," Jay-Z wrote. "Now he’s 30, so he has been on probation for basically his entire adult life."

Mill's attorneys have filed appeals to Brinkley's sentence. Brinkley, who has overseen Mill's decade-long probation, has not made a ruling on the appeal.

His attorneys have also asked that Brinkley recuse herself from Mill's case and any appeals. They claimed in court filings that the judge has expressed herself over the years "in personal, injudicious terms when ruling or explaining her rulings" in the ongoing probation hearings.

The recusal request included some tawdry accusations, like a claim that she asked the Philadelphia-born rapper to record a version of a Boyz II Men song and include a shout out to Brinkley. Another claim accuses the judge of recommending Mill leave his management agency, Roc Nation, which is headed by Jay-Z, and rejoin his original manager, a Philadelphia man named Charlie Mack.

In sending Mill to jail Nov. 6, Brinkley said Mill "does what he wants" despite repeated warnings.

Two people were found dead following a roadside shooting Saturday evening just off the northbound lands of Interstate 95 and Woodhaven Road in Bensalem, Bucks County.

Their bodies were found shortly after 5:30 p.m. when Pennsylvania State Police responded to a call of a woman running against traffic alongside the busy highway.

They have not yet been identified, but state police said both are from Philadelphia. One is a 60-year-old man and the other is a 32-year-old woman, police said. Their relationship was not yet known.

Their bodies were found on the on-ramp of I-95, police said.

Both died from apparent gunshot wounds, according to police.

Evidence markers could be seen dotting the immediate area where a silver SUV stopped on the interstate, the passenger door open and the hazard warning lights on. Troopers think the man and woman jumped over the barrier, police said.

Officials are working to identify the bodies and piece together what happened. Police blocked off sections of I-95 for several hours. By Sunday morning, the highway was cleared for traffic.

A 32-year-old woman found dead near an on-ramp of northbound Interstate 95 in Bucks County Saturday evening was the apparent victim of a murder-suicide, Pennsylvania State Police said Sunday.

The body of Maria Choo Lin Choo was found Saturday shortly after 5:30 p.m. by police responding to a call of a woman running against traffic in the northbound lanes of I-95 and Woodhaven Road in Bensalem.

When officials arrived to the scene, she was already dead. Police discovered multiple gunshot wounds on her body, officials said.

Laying on top of her, also dead, was 60-year-old David Choo Lin Choo. He held a semi-automatic handgun in his right hand, according to investigators.

An autopsy revealed the woman died from multiple gunshot wounds while the man died from a single, self-inflicted gunshot. Both people were from Philadelphia.

Police have not commented on the pair’s relationship or what happened in the moments leading to their deaths.

An investigation is ongoing.
