David Cassidy is in the hospital in critical condition with organ failure, the star's family friend and publicist confirmed.

The 67-year-old former actor, most famously known for his role as Keith Partridge in "The Partridge Family," was taken to the hospital Wednesday and is in need of a liver transplant, the publicist said. Cassidy is conscious, however, and surrounded by family.

No other information on his condition was immediately available.

Cassidy starred in the beloved "Partridge" series from 1970-1974, and the role made him a popular teen idol. He continued his acting and music career for decades until his retirement earlier this year when he announced he had dementia.

These 3 Hospital ERs Have the Longest Wait to See the Doctor

There are nearly 250 hospital emergency rooms in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

Many will treat tens of thousands of patients each year. An NBC10 Investigators analysis of federal Medicare records found that the wait to see a doctor varies greatly from one ER to the next. The data is from 2015, the most recent available.

The median wait across the country is about 30 minutes. In Pennsylvania, it's 22 minutes. In New Jersey, it's 25 minutes, while in Delaware, it's 34 minutes.

Here are the three hospitals in the greater Philadelphia region with the highest median wait times, and what officials there say is to blame for the plus-hour waits. And below those three is a complete list of the hospitals in the three states analyzed. The searchable database includes ER wait times, time it takes for patients with broken bones to receive pain medication, and percent of patients will leave before being seen.

NUMBER THREE: Lankenau Hospital, Wynnewood, Pennsylvania

Median wait time: 61 minutes

The hospital's ER is currently designed to treat 35,000 patients a year. This year, it is on pace to treat 58,000. Dr. Joe Bushra, chief of emergency medicine, said 61 minutes is "way too long."

"That's a long time to wait when you're sick."

Bushra said Lankenau is doing something to improve its ER wait time: The hospital is undergoing an expansion to the department that will be completed in 2019.

NUMBER TWO: Christiana Care Health Services, Newark, Delaware

Median wait time: 63 minutes

The hospital in Delaware's second-largest city already did what Lankenau is embarking on: expansion.

"We've done several things to address that," Dr. John Powell, assistant chairman of emergency medicine, said. "One is the emergency department that we're standing in."

Powell said the larger ER at Christiana should lead to lower waits than the 2015 show.

NUMBER ONE: Cooper University Hospital, Camden, New Jersey

Median wait time: 66 minutes

Cooper, like the other two hospitals in this bottom three, is undergoing an expansion of its ER. The hospital said in a statement that it will be completed by early 2018.

In Pennsylvania, there is no standard established for acceptable ER wait times. Dr. Michael Consuelos, of the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania, said that has a lot to do with the myriad types of injuries, illnesses and afflictions that are treated at a hospital's emergency room.

Chester County Mom Remains Missing Months Later

An event raising money for a missing Chester County mom is set to take place next week as the search for her continues.

The auction, which is raising money for the search for Anna Bronislawa Maciejewska-Gould, will take place Nov. 24 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the St. Anthony's Lodge on 259 Church Street in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.

The 43-year-old mother went missing the morning of April 10 and hasn’t been seen since. Her husband, Allen Gould, said she was in a “panic” and she never arrived at her job at Voya Financial in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Maciejewska-Gould was driving her 2011 Navy Blue Audi A4 with the Pennsylvania license plate HTF 2919 at the time of her disappearance.

NBC News published a report on her disappearance that included interviews with family members who claimed she abruptly canceled a scheduled trip to her native Poland. The trip is an annual tradition for Maciejewska-Gould who planned on bringing her 4-year-old son with her to visit her father on his 80th birthday, according to her nephew. The family members also said Maciejewska-Gould called out of work the week of April 3, which was unusual for her.

In July, Maciejewska-Gould’s family from Poland came to the Malvern area to get the latest on the search and to meet with Pennsylvania State Police and talk to her husband.

"This ongoing period of time that we really don't know what happened is terrible for the family," brother-in-law Leszek Wronski said.

Pennsylvania State Police also confirmed in July that they searched along Hedgegrow Lane in Malvern for clues in Maciejewska-Gould’s disappearance. It was the first time state police searched the home, investigators said.

Now months later, Maciejewska-Gould remains missing and no arrests have been made.

Maciejewska-Gould stands 5 foot, 4 inches tall with blue eyes and dark blonde hair and weighs around 160 pounds. If you have any information on her whereabouts, please call Pennsylvania State Police at 610-486-6280, the Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers at 1-800-4PA-TIPS (1-800-472-8477), or Greater Philadelphia Search and Rescue (GPSAR) at 877-598-5618.

Don't Expect Suspensions on Greek Life to Last: Experts

It may have been common to look away from fraternities issues in the past, even deadly ones. But not anymore.

This year alone, the deaths of four pledges in alcohol-related incidents and various hazing infractions have led to the closing down of some or all Greek life activities on several college campuses and the filing of criminal charges against more than two dozen students, NBC News reported.

While college administrators, for the most part, have acted quickly after the most recent deaths, it is still highly unlikely that any would move to permanently ban fraternities outright, experts told NBC News.

Penn State University implemented new regulations for its Greek life and suspended some fraternities after the death of a sophomore pledge, Timothy Piazza, after an alcohol-filled hazing ritual in February. Prosecutors filed charges in the case last week against 17 people linked to the fraternity. A school spokeswoman said the university president will meet with his counterparts at other colleges in the Big 10 conference next year to discuss potential solutions.

Teens Arrested in Flash Mob Attacks in Center City

At least two teens were arrested while several people, including a SEPTA police officer, were attacked during flash mob incidents in Center City.

Police say the ordeal began Saturday around 7 p.m. on the 1700 block of Walnut Street when two large groups of teens became disorderly. One group exited a club and attacked a couple walking down the street, according to investigators. Officials also say a second group of approximately 100 teens were acting rowdy and harassed people walking nearby.

Samir Maalaoui, the owner of Lazaro’s Pizza, located on the 1700 block of South Street, also told NBC10 a group of teens rushed into his shop shortly before 8 p.m., attacked two of his delivery drivers and stole a pizza.

"He was on the floor and they start kicking him," Maalaoui said.

One of the drivers suffered a broken nose while another suffered a black eye.

"Punching him in the face four, five times," said a witness who wanted to remain anonymous. "It was ridiculous man. This never happened here before."

Both employees are expected to be okay. The owner sent NBC10 surveillance video of the teens outside his shop as well as photos of his injured employees.

"He needs stitiches and his nose is broken completely," Maalaoui said. "And he needs surgery."

Cleavers Philadelphia, located on the 100 block of S. 18th Street, also closed early Saturday night, claiming there were “riots going on in Rittenhouse.”

[[458662993, C]]

Philadelphia Police and SEPTA Police arrived at the scene and began to disperse the crowds. As they were controlling the crowd, at least one SEPTA police officer was attacked, officials said. Police say there were reports of three assaults and one robbery in all.

SEPTA Police arrested two teens, ages 14 and 16, in connection to the attacks in Rittenhouse Square. They have not yet revealed the specific charges against them.

Staff at Lazaro's say they hope the people who put their co-workers in the hospital are punished.

"Every time they get away with it, they're going to keep doing the same thing," Maalaoui said. "Maybe they're going to take it further. It's not good for the business. It's not good for the city."

If you have any information on the incidents, please call Philadelphia Police.

Arrest Made in Murder Inside NJ Applebee's Restaurant

Police arrested a man accused of shooting and killing a man inside a New Jersey Applebee's restaurant.

Noel Powell III, 27, of Fountayne Lane, Lawrence Township, was arrested in Trenton, New Jersey around 2:30 p.m. Sunday by members of the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force. He is charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Police say Powell shot and killed Devin Smith, 23, of Lawrence Township, inside the Applebee's Grill + Bar restaurant along Brunswick Pike (U.S. Route 1) near the Quaker Bridge Mall in Lawrenceville, New Jersey around 12:25 a.m. Tuesday. Powell approached Smith, who was seated and alone at the bar and shot him once in the head, according to investigators. Powell fled in a dark-colored SUV and Smith was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

While Powell is in custody, police have not yet revealed a possible motive in the murder or whether or not he knew the victim.

Tuesday night, Smith's loved ones gathered at the Applebee's to honor him, leaving behind balloons and candles.

"I just lost the father of my child," said Briana Anderson, the mother of Smith's 3-year-old daughter. "I'm trying to be strong for my daughter so she knows she's not alone through this whole process."

Those who knew Smith described him as a man who was the life of the party with countless friends and no known enemies.

"They were just always so happy and lively," said Lisa Trinh, one of Smith's friends. "I don't know who could've done it to him."

Kavon Marshall, another friend of Smith's, arrived at the Applebee's late Tuesday night and delivered balloons, releasing some in the air. He considered Smith his little brother.

"It just don't feel real," Marshall said. "I do miss him. I don't even know what kind of monster would do this."

Community Supports Victims of Senior Living Facility Fire

As some residents remain in the hospital while others are still unaccounted for days after a massive fire at a West Chester Senior Living Facility, the community is stepping in to help the victims.

A fire started at the Barclay Friends Senior Living Community late Thursday night, injuring nearly 30 people and leading to a chaotic evacuation.

On Sunday donations for victims were collected at the Good Will Fire Company on 552 E. Union Street in West Chester from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Yet even after 7 p.m., cars still lined up outside the Fire Company with people bringing in more donations.

“We have everything from walkers, to commodes to clothing in the other room,” said Ted Hartz, President of the Good Will Fire Company.

The West Chester community’s support was so overwhelming that a warehouse was needed to store more of the clothes and other supplies.

[[458180883, C]]

The late Thursday blaze forced 150 residents and staff into the frigid night and sent 27 residents to the hospital — 10 of whom remained under the care of doctors Sunday night.

The five-alarm fire broke out in the personal care section of the Barclay Friends community on the 700 block of North Franklin Street in West Chester around 10:45 p.m. Smoke and flames first appeared in the personal care area of the facility. Employees rushed into the residents’ rooms and began ushering them to safety.

Staff evacuated vulnerable residents on foot, in wheelchairs and even in beds, wrapped in blankets.

People at the scene described a frightening rescue from the inferno with some neighbors rushing over to help.

"I'm just envisioning the elderly people burning in their beds because it was so massive... before any rescue came," neighbor Scott Baker said.

[[458226003, C]]

Residents were triaged on a neighborhood street, then transported to a number of different shelters on ambulances and school buses.

With tears in her eyes, staffer Nellie Mingey said she was worried about the residents that she had come to know over three years working at Barclay Friends.

"It's sad," Mingey said. "This is their home. A lot of them don't have anywhere to go."

A high level source involved in the investigation told NBC10 that some people are still missing, but cautioned that it's unclear if they left shelters with family or friends.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) continues to investigate the cause of the fire and are searching through the burned out complex to collect evidence.

Barclay Friends, a Kendal Affiliate, is a senior living community that provides professional nursing staff 24 hours a day, meals and other services, according to its website.

The nursing home section of Barclay Friends was put on a "provisional license" last November by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) because of the citations, and fined $9,750 in April, the state said.
