Body Washes Ashore, Officials Do Not Confirm if Missing Boater: Officials have confirmed that a body as been found along the shore of the Delaware River, but have not yet confirmed if it is the body of a missing boater. Police say a boat overturned on the river just after 2 p.m. on Sunday near the 100 block of Mill Street in Penns Grove. Two men were on board crabbing at the time of the incident and police say they are unsure of why the 12-foot boat capsized. According to police, a 30-year-old man was able to swim back to shore unassisted. He is currently being treated at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County for mild hypothermia. A marine unit began a search for a second 40-year-old man who was on the boat when it capsized. Police say a neighbor on shore saw the man swimming back to shore, but he slipped under the water. Crews have called the search off for the night due to tide and wind challenges. Penns Grove police and fire say they will continue to monitor the shoreline overnight. Boats and divers will return Monday morning to continue the search.

Amid condemnation in Seoul, Tokyo and Washington, a jubilant North Korean leader Kim Jong Un promised more nuclear and missile tests and warned that his country's weapons could strike the U.S. mainland and Pacific holdings.

      TODAY'S TALKER

Poll: 48 Percent Say GOP Health Care Bill a Bad Idea: By a 2-to-1 ratio, Americans say the health care legislation that was recently passed by the House and supported by President Donald Trump is a bad idea instead of a good idea, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. Forty-eight percent say it's a bad idea, including 43 percent of respondents who "strongly" believe that. By contrast, just 23 percent call the legislation a good idea, including 18 percent who "strongly" say that. That 25-point gap between good idea and bad idea is larger than the NBC/WSJ poll ever found for Barack Obama's health-care plan. Back in December of 2013, following problems with the rollout of the HealthCare.Gov website, 50 percent had said the Obama plan was a bad idea, versus 34 percent who said it was a good idea. This past February, however, 43 percent of Americans called the Obama plan a good idea, while 41 percent said it was bad. On May 4, the House approved legislation - by a narrow 217-213 majority - to repeal and replace Obama's Affordable Care Act. No Democrats voted for the bill, and the legislative activity has since moved to the U.S. Senate.

A man at a backyard barbecue was struck and killed Sunday by a tree limb that was knocked down by a flash storm, police said.

The 28-year-old man was attending a barbecue on Paulison Avenue in Passaic when he was hit, police said. He was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson.

Five other people sustained injuries of varying severity, but the other victims are expected to be OK, police said.

The sudden storm brought heavy winds and lightning to the area, causing a large tree limb to fall, police said. It was not immediately clear if the wind or a lightning strike took down the limb that killed the man.

“We saw the branch had fallen on top of the tent,” neighbor Johanna Juarez said. "I rushed over and I saw them take out the man and he was covered in blood."

The storm knocked down trees across New Jersey, including several large trees in Rutherford. One of those trees fell on a vehicle, but there were no reported injuries.

In Fair Lawn, trees were also knocked down, sprawled over train tracks and on to cars parked on streets.

The #NBC10Mornings Team is digging into safety. This week the focus is "Don't Be A Victim." Whether you're working out, at a gas station, traveling or online, here are some top tips that can prevent you from being a victim.

Keep an eye on your personal information. Check your personal privacy settings online as well as the settings of websites or apps you use. Report fraud if it happens.

      1. Do you receive scam calls? The best thing to do with an unknown number is let the answering machine get it. Sign up for or with the “do not call list,” “Hiya” app, or Nomorobo.
      2. Always be aware of your surroundings.
      3. When traveling, plan ahead. Know where you're staying, and no matter where you go, keep an eye on your valuables.
      4. Tell someone you trust where you’re going, whether it’s on vacation or to a park, or go with a buddy.
      5. Turn your vehicle's engine off when at the gas station or convenience store.

Follow these tips and the information coming in all this week, and prevent yourself from becoming a victim.

Cannabis Could Become Legal in NJ Under New Bill

      $

A New Jersey state lawmaker will introduce a bill to make recreational marijuana legal in the Garden State.

State Sen. Nicholas Scutari will formally announce the legislation during a news conference in Trenton on Monday.

The Democrat from Union Township was one of the architects of New Jersey’s medical marijuana bill, which has been fraught with restrictive provisions and costly fees. If the new bill passes, New Jersey would become the ninth state to legalize recreational cannabis.

"The national trend is toward legalization," Scutari told NJ Advance Media on Friday. "It's absolutely necessary to save our neighborhoods from drug dealers. And we can use the tax revenue. And people are smoking it anyway."

Neighboring Delaware is also considering legalizing pot. Last week, the General Assembly’s House Revenue and Finance Committee voted to advance legalization legislation. A full House vote is pending as the bill's sponsors iron out the kinks.

Under HB 110, the state would regulate cannabis much like alcohol. Only people over the age of 21 could purchase marijuana and driving under the influence would be illegal.

In national poll conducted last month, 83 percent of respondents said they supported legalizing medical marijuana. Roughly half supported recreational cannabis while 47 percent said they are opposed.

Almost 62 percent said they wouldn’t use pot for pain even if it were legal.

Moving forward with any effort to expand the state’s marijuana program could be hampered by Gov. Chris Christie, who is vehemently against recreational cannabis and dubious about its medicinal properties.

Last year, Christie argued that legalizing marijuana could lead to legalizing cocaine and heroin. He accused Democrats of “poisoning” young people by accepting “blood money.”

Christie’s final term is up in January and it is rumored he is under consideration to become drug czar under President Donald Trump.

'Hangry' Passenger Orders Pizza Delivery to Stalled Amtrak Train

A veteran pizza delivery man in Delaware got an order from an unusual address: an Amtrak train that got stalled on the tracks for hours on its way from New York to Washington, D.C.

Passenger Mitchell Katz posted a video of delivery man Jim Leary walking up to the train Sunday evening as it sat on the tracks. People on board were getting restless after being left without access to food or water during the long delay and eventually some passengers came up with the idea of ordering a pizza, Katz said.

      [[422111784, C]]

The delivery man, Jim Leary, is seen in Katz' video walking along the rocky trackbed, a narrow path between the train and a long, shallow creek. The video has been favorited more than 3,600 times and retweeted 1,400 times since it was posted around 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Leary, a driver for Dom's Pizza in Newport, Delaware, tells The Associated Press he cut through a backyard, navigated a steep embankment and jumped over a water-filled ditch all while balancing the two pies in order to make the delivery.

      [[421451924, C]]

The 46-year-old Leary was rewarded with a cheering crowd of passengers and a total of $32 in tips for his effort. Leary's 17-year pizza delivery career has brought him to addresses in 32 counties across 18 states, but he said the broken down train is one of the strangest.

"I do whatever it takes," he said.

Amtrak said on Twitter that a mechanical issue was to blame for the delay. Eventually, another train was brought in to take the passengers to Washington, Katz said. Amtrak's website shows the passengers arrived more than three hours late.

2 Dead After Plane Crashes Into NJ Neighborhood

A small plane crashed into a busy industrial neighborhood in Carlstadt, New Jersey, while attempting to land at Teterboro Airport on Monday afternoon, killing two crew members on board, officials said.

The crash set buildings, cars and power lines ablaze, the Carlstadt Police Department said. Thick, black smoke was seen rising high above the crash site, and was visible as far away as New York City.

"There's nothing really left of the plane at all - you just see the two engines that are burnt up and stuff," one man told News 4.

Firefighters from multiple departments responded to several building and car fires, officials said. Members of the FAA and NTSB were also en route to the scene as part of an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.

      [[422370753, C]]

The FAA said the Learjet 35, which departed from Philadelphia International Airport, was approaching Runway 1 at Teterboro around 3:30 p.m. when it went down near Kero Road about 1/4 mile from the airport.

Two crew members were killed in the crash, officials said. There were no passengers aboard.

The plane's tail number is N452DA. It is registered to A&C Big Sky Aviation in Billings, Montana. It wasn't immediately clear who was operating the plane at the time of the crash.

      [[422384063, C]]

Officials said the plane crashed near a Dept. of Public Works facility. Two buildings and multiple vehicles caught fire, but no one on the ground was reported injured.

A Carlstadt Police Dept. spokesman said the plane appeared to be listing to its side before the crash.

Meteorologists forecasted strong winds, including gusts up to 45 mph, for northern New Jersey at the time of the crash.

Steve Case, an entrepreneur and co-founder of AOL, wrote in an Instagram post that the plane appeared to have missed a turn and crashed a few hundred yards from the airport. He was aboard another plane at the airport at the time.

One witness said she was working at United Door when the plane came down right outside her office window.

"We were there working like every day and all of the suddenly we see the airplane coming down," she said. "It landed in the parking lot and then we heard the explosion."

      [[422386413, C]]

Spokesperson for Boro of Carlstadt Joe Orlando was at the scene as the plane came down. He said explosions were going off, cars were burning and pieces of the plane, including wheels and part of the fuselage, were scattered in a Dept. of Public Works facility near 99 Kero Road.

“Right now they’re trying to put the fires out on the building just next to us... we just keep having little explosions, it’s a crazy situation here,” he said.

The explosions were the sound of car tires popping due to the heat of the flames, officials later said.

      [[422380893, C]]

“Parts of the plane are laying in the garage, I can see the engines, part of the fuselage. There’s just melted cars all over the place in our yard,” he said.

The last crash at or near Teterboro Airport was in 2005, and the last deadly crash was in Nov. 1985, according to the Aviation Safety Network, a well regarded database of international flight incidents. Multiple people died in the 1985 crash.

RHONJ Star, Beau Victimized in Brutal Home Invasion: Sources

      0

A former "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star and her millionaire boyfriend were the victims in a brutal weekend home invasion that left both with facial injuries, sources familiar with the investigation tell NBC 4 New York.

Dina Manzo, 46, and David Cantin, 37, walked into their Holmdel house Saturday night to find two masked robbers already inside, according to sources and law enforcement officials.

The attackers rushed toward them, beating the man with a baseball bat and punching the woman, sources said. The couple was then bound together in the home, sources said. Officials withheld their identities, but the sources confirm to NBC 4 New York the victims are the celebrity couple.

The robbers went through the house and stole cash and jewelry before fleeing, prosecutors said. Both victims were treated for facial injures, but are otherwise expected to be physically OK, officials said.

NBC 4 New York left a message with Bravo. Manzo appeared on the first two seasons of the reality TV show before leaving the series.

She returned for the sixth season in 2014, then left again. Prior to that she tried to launch her own series about party planning called "Dina's Party" on HGTV; it was canceled after two seasons. Manzo remains close with former co-star Teres Giudice and is the godmother of her daughter.

Cantin, a New Jersey native, blazed new trails in the car dealership industry with his financial and business acumen and became co-owner of one of the largest dealerships in the world. He was diagnosed with leukemia several years ago and directed philanthropic energies toward battling pediatric cancer.

Anyone with information on the home invasion is asked to contact Detective Eric Hernando of the Holmdel Township Police Department at (732) 946-2820 or Detective Wayne Raynor of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office at (800) 533-7443.
