WHAT YOU MISSED YESTERDAY
Nurses Begin 2-Day Strike at Delaware County Memorial Hospital: Nurses at a suburban Philadelphia hospital have begun a two-day walkout over staffing levels and other issues. The Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals said the strike Sunday and Monday by 370 nurses and technical staff at Delaware County Memorial Hospital will be followed by a three-day lockout. Hospital officials say that's because staffing agencies require five days of pay to get temporary replacements. The union says the hospital has increased the number of patients per nurse and there are shortages of basic equipment. "We are concerned about the safety of the patients in our hospital," said Angela Neopolitano, the DCMH Chapter President and 36-year registered nurse at the hospital. "Instead of spending money on nurses and techs from staffing agencies which are not known for attracting the best and brightest, Prospect should be investing in patient care."
AROUND THE WORLD
Trump Expected to Sign New Immigration Order: Two senior White House officials told NBC News that President Donald Trump plans to sign a revised version of his executive order that restricted travel from seven Muslim-majority nations on Monday. Since a federal judge in Seattle issued a temporary restraining order on it in early February, different White House officials and the president have stated numerous times that the new executive order would be signed soon. But more than a month after it was barred, the revised version has not been realized. The delay would seem to undercut the White House's original argument for its swift execution, which created confusing travel situations and immigration statuses for hundreds of people the weekend it was implemented. When its necessity and legality was challenged, the president and senior administration officials emphasized the need for travel restrictions because they believed the nation would be at risk without them.
