A woman and a young girl are recovering after they jumped out of a burning home in West Philadelphia overnight.
The fire started shortly after midnight Saturday at a two-story rowhome on 61st and Media streets. Officials say a 25-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl jumped from the second floor of the house during the blaze. Firefighters were able to bring it under control at 12:21 a.m.
The 25-year-old woman suffered second-degree burns on over 25% of her body while the 3-year-old girl suffered second-degree burns on over 15% of her body. They are both being treated at Hahnemann Hospital.

Residents on a block in Philadelphia’s Feltonville neighborhood have been dealing with water flowing into their homes for the past three days.
Water began flooding the basements of around 30 homes on Front and Courtland streets Thursday and continued into Saturday. Residents had to deal with water damage as crews tried to find the source of the leak.
One of the residents, Juan Pagan, showed the flooded area of his parents’ home where they had to use mops, buckets and eventually a constantly running pump to deal with the water.
“My mom and dad are 80-years-old,” said Pagan. “They were pouring buckets of water over the sink.”
Pagan told NBC10 the water caused furniture damage for other homeowners on the block as well.
Philadelphia Water Department spokesperson John DiGiulio told NBC10 crews finally found the source of the leak Saturday night: a broken service line in an abandoned home on the block. The basement of that home is currently full of water.
DiGiulio says water department crews are working on getting access to the abandoned home to plug the leak and drain the basement which will stop water from leaking into the other homes.
For the second time in one night, a would-be victim turned the tables on a robber in Philadelphia, according to police. Officials say a pizza deliveryman shot a suspect who was trying to rob him in Northeast Philadelphia Saturday night.
The deliveryman was on the 1400 block of Wellington Street at 9:24 p.m. when he was approached by a 19-year-old man who tried to rob him, police said. The deliveryman, who was armed, opened fire, striking the suspect once in the right lower leg and once in the left lower leg.
The suspect was taken to the hospital where he is currently in stable condition, police said. They have not yet released his identity.
The shooting was the second incident in Philadelphia Saturday night in which a robber was shot by his intended victim, according to investigators. Police say the owner of an auto repair shop shot a man who was trying to rob his business.
The owner of a Philadelphia auto repair shop opened fire on a robbery suspect Saturday night, according to police.
Police say a 30-year-old man entered an auto repair shop on the 6800 block of Paschall Avenue at 6:32 p.m. and tried to rob the business. The owner of the shop, who was armed, opened fire, striking the suspect once in the chest, once in the right shoulder and once in the right buttock, according to officials.
The suspect was taken to Presbyterian Hospital by police. Officials have not yet revealed his condition.
A suburban Philadelphia mayor has defeated an incumbent in a state House race that was decided after challenges to provisional ballots and a recount.
Democrat Carolyn Comitta, the mayor of West Chester, will be the new representative of the 156th House district after defeating three-term Republican Rep. Dan Truitt by 25 votes.
Truitt had been ahead by 80 votes on election night, but military and absentee ballots put Comitta in the lead. County officials finished their recount Friday and a judge certified the results.
Comitta, who was running in her first state-level race, is in her second term as mayor and before that served on the West Chester borough council for four years.
