Philadelphia Police asked for the public’s help to track down a robber caught on camera taking an hour to break into a cash machine.

The thief used various tools to eventually gain access to the cash drawer of an ATM located outside a meat store along Wadsworth Avenue in the city’s Cedarbrook neighborhood around 2:30 a.m. on Election Day, said Philadelphia Police.

The suspect – a stocky man in his 40s or 50s with a light beard and mustache who wore glasses, a hat and an Under Armour hoodie -- grabbed an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing, said police.

Police released surveillance video that shows the suspect checking out the ATM and skulking around. Anyone who recognizes that man or has information about the heist is asked to contact Philadelphia Police.

A technical issue at with a computer IT firm briefly caused technical problems for airlines in the United States early Friday afternoon, according to American Airlines.

It was one of several air carriers affected by the outage at Sabre, which tweeted about 12:45 p.m. ET that it was working on recovering from unspecified issues customers were facing.

American didn't provide more details about what systems and airlines were affected. Reports on Twitter indicated outages at American, Alaska Airlines and JetBlue; all three responded to several tweets about saying computers, kiosks or the website not working.

American Air confirmed that the issue was with Sabre, and that it affected more than one airline.

"Earlier today, Sabre had a brief technical issue that impacted multiple carriers, including American. This technical issue has been resolved. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience," the company said in a statement.

An FAA representative told NBC it was checking on the reports.

Racist Texts Sent to Black Students at Penn

Black students at the University of Pennsylvania suddenly began receiving racist texts Friday from an account on an app called GroupMe, with the messages and images causing fear among the student body.

The university said its police and cyber security departments were investigating and had already determined the origin of the GroupMe account to be based in Oklahoma.

"The account contains violent, racist and thoroughly repugnant images and messages," university spokesman Ron Ozio said in an email. "The University is taking every step possible to address both the source of the racist material and the impact it has had on Black students on campus."

Some students posted on social media about the fear and sadness that they felt upon reading the texts.

Campus protests popped up later Friday afternoon as students rallied to support each other.

Ozio said the students who received the texts were "a number of black freshman students." He described the texts as "violent, racist and thoroughly repugnant images and messages."

Mayor Jim Kenney said in a statement that he "condemns in the strongest possible terms the racist activity taking place at the University of Pennsylvania."

"It is heartbreaking to see this type of activity here in the birthplace of our democracy and the city of brotherly love," Kenney said. "I urge the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations to investigate and hold all responsible parties accountable for this disgusting behavior."
