1 Dead, 4 Hurt in Germantown Fire: One person was killed and four others were hurt following a fire in the Germantown section of the city. The fire started at a row home on E. Clapier Street Sunday around 6 p.m. "We seen the smoke coming out and that's all we knew," said Eugene Brown, who lives near the home. "[We] tried to get whoever we can out.” Brown tried to get inside through the door but the smoke was too intense. He then smashed the front window. Responding firefighters were able to get the residents out of the home and place the flames under control. Officials say one person was killed, another critically injured and three others suffered smoke inhalation. They have not yet revealed the identities of the victims.

WHAT YOU MISSED YESTERDAY
Closing Ceremony Ends Rio Olympics: The Rio Olympics officially came to a close Sunday night as the Olympic flag was passed to Tokyo, host of the 2020 Games, and the Olympic flame was extinguished. Rio threw the customary party, the closing ceremony, with typical Brazilian panache. It began with fireworks and a bright dance to samba music at Rio's iconic Maracana stadium and ended with a Carnival parade. The ceremony capped an Olympics that seemed in the run-up like it might never begin, threatened by Zika, political turmoil and budgetary shortfalls. But the opening ceremony came and the world turned its attention to 17 days of sports that largely went off without incident. By the end, two of the greatest Olympians thrilled crowds before announcing their retirements (though fans are holding out hope Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt return in four years). And just 24 hours before hosting the closing ceremony, the Maracana was the site of Brazil's greatest Olympic victory ever: a gold medal in men's soccer, the nation's sporting religion. The closing party celebrated the games and Rio itself, as brightly colored dancers formed the shape of the Christ the Redeemer statue and athletes paraded through a gauntlet of flags. Gymnast Simone Biles carried the American flag. The governor of Tokyo formally accepted the Olympic flag, with the Olympic anthem reverberating through the stadium.
AROUND THE WORLD
US Olympic Committee Says Further Action Coming to Lochte Case: U.S. Olympic Committee CEO Scott Blackmun said Sunday further action is coming in the matter of 12-time swimming medalist Ryan Lochte and his three teammates whose story of a robbery overshadowed the Rio de Janeiro Games. Blackmun offered no details on what disciplinary action may be coming, but made no effort to hide his frustration with the matter. "They let down our athletes," Blackmun said. "They let down Americans.” Lochte originally described the incident as an armed robbery, before the story unraveled. In televised interviews that aired Saturday, Lochte backtracked and said he "over-exaggerated" the story. Police said Lochte and three of his swimming teammates — all four were gold medalists — vandalized a bathroom after a night of partying and armed guards confronted them and asked them to pay for the damage. Blackmun said Lochte's story also harmed Brazil in how the storyline took a great deal of attention off the Rio Games themselves.

Foul Balls Strike 2 at Phillies Game: For the second day in a row, a fan was hit by a foul ball during a Philadelphia Phillies game. A young woman was hit in the face by St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Mike Leake's foul in the sixth inning of Sunday's game between the Phillies and Cardinals. She held an ice pack as she was helped to the concourse from her seat about 10 rows behind the dugout. The incident occurred a day after a young girl was taken to the hospital when she was struck by a foul ball behind the St. Louis Cardinals dugout. During the bottom of the eighth inning of Saturday's game, Phillies shortstop Freddy Galvis hit a foul ball that went into the stands and struck the girl in the face. Galvis, the players and spectators looked on in anguish as the girl was carried out of the stadium. She was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where she underwent evaluations. Galvis said before Sunday's game that the team should extend the netting from behind home plate all the way to left field.
