Police say an 18-year-old is the person responsible for breaking into the home of a 78-year-old man in Southwest Philadelphia, killing him and stealing his van last week.

Now, they're asking for the public's help to track down Quintis Clark, whose last known address is on Vandike Street between Wellington Street and Cottman Avenue in Tacony. Police said they have a murder warrant out for Clark.

They say the teen broke into the home of Joseph Daly, on Theodore Street near 73rd in Elmwood, through a rear window and beat and strangled Daly to death before stealing his Ford E150 van.

The murder was discovered after Daly's son contacted police when he didn't hear from his father for a few days and grew worried.

Police recovered Daly's van unoccupied at Griscom Street and Oxford Avenue in Frankford on Thursday, two days after his body was discovered.

As with any homicide in the City of Philadelphia, a $20,000 reward is up for grabs for anyone who provides a tip leading to an arrest and conviction.

Tipsters should call the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or 3335.

One of the men who carjacked a Roxborough family at gunpoint outside their home early on Memorial Day used a victim's credit card at a West Philadelphia convenience store less than an hour after the robbery, and police say cameras caught him in the act.

Now, they're asking for the public's help to identify the young man, who they say was among a trio who robbed a 42-year-old woman, her 52-year-old brother, who has cerebral palsy, and her 25-year-old niece about 12:35 a.m. May 30 on Gerhard Street near Ridge Avenue. The family had just gotten home when police say the men approached them, pointed a handgun at them and stole the two women's purses and phones before taking the family's 2008 blue Acura MDX.

Police on Monday released surveillance video that shows one of the alleged robbers going into a Sunoco on Lancaster Avenue near 52nd Street and using one victim's credit card. Police said the man then used the credit card again at a Wawa on Spruce Street near 38th.

Police are looking for the man shown on the video and his two accomplices, as well as a silver Pontiac Grand Am he's seen getting out of at the Wawa. They're also still searching for the victims' blue 2008 Acura MDX, which has Pennsylvania tag GVH-0977.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Northwest Detectives at 215-686-3353 or 3354.

A warrant is out for a North Carolina man wanted for allegedly shooting a delivery driver at point-blank range, killing him, last year in Yeadon.

The news of the murder warrant issued for Rodney Shelton, 37, comes almost exactly a year after the killing of 63-year-old Thomas Childs.

Childs, of Aston, was working his job as a delivery driver at Ridgeway Industries, in the Yeadon Industrial Park on the 6200 block of Baltimore Avenue, early June 9, 2015 when police say someone shot him point-blank range during a robbery.

Childs died there.

Prosecutors in Delaware County said Monday that they now have a warrant out for the arrest of Shelton, of North Carolina.

When captured, Shelton will face charges including murder, robbery and related offenses.

Video Shows Infant Being Kidnapped from KOP Mall

Newly released surveillance video shows the kidnapping of an infant from his distracted mother's care at the King of Prussia Mall this spring.

The incident sparked a frantic search for the child who was found at a Montgomery County woman's apartment five hours after he was taken.

Cherie Amoore, the alleged kidnapper, faces a formal arraignment on kidnapping charges later this month.

The six-minute video, which was released by a Montgomery County judge after a petition by NBC10, shows the kidnapper, identified as Amoore by prosecutors, befriending the boy's mother outside a mall jewelry store on March 31.

The mother, Malika Hunter, who had the infant and her 2-year-old boy with her that day, ventured to a mall food court with Amoore. Eventually, Amoore picks up the 7-week-old baby while the mother is tending to her older son.

"She was so polite," Hunter said of Amoore. "Nice, calm and energetic. Like the normal, average person."

Amoore holds the baby for some time before quickly walking away from the mother. Cameras show her walking through the mall and out an entrance with the child.

The video underscores how quickly a kidnapping can take place.

The mall was locked down, an Amber Alert was issued, police stopped and searched SEPTA buses as they left the Upper Merion shopping destination. The baby was located at Amoore's home in Tredyffrin Township around 10:30 p.m. that night.

Investigators said Amoore told them she recently gave birth to a baby boy, but he died. That claim has not been verified, but Hunter said Amoore told her she was a mother.

Amoore has not entered a plea in the case. She is out on $500,000 bail.

Philadelphia detectives are trying to track down the man who threw a beer bottle at Ryan Howard during Saturday’s Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park.

The first baseman spoke on camera for the first time Monday telling reporters he "definitely" does take the incident personally.

"Everybody, in whatever field it is that they do, whether you change oil; whether you work at a grocery store or whatever, if somebody came and threw a beer bottle at you or something like that you'd be upset," he said.

Police are waiting to review surveillance video from inside the ballpark as part of their investigation. So far, the beer bottle thrower's identity is unknown.

Police Issue Challenge After This Sign Posted

Police in a Bucks County town are challenging the person who posted a sign about violence against police to come and speak to them face-to-face.

Falls Township Police Lt. Henry Ward shared a photo of the sign on Monday evening. It reads "Only good cop is a dead cop."

The message was spray-painted on a piece of particleboard. Ward said it was discovered early Monday morning along Lincoln Highway near the Pennsbury Enterprises facility in the township.

"I know whoever did this did it out of ignorance," Ward said in an email about the sign. "I would like to sit down with them and show them what we do as police officers so they can base their opinion on facts and not ignorance."

Relations between police and communities nationwide have been especially strained in recent years as departments have come under increased scrutiny about the use of deadly force.

In nearby Philadelphia, former commissioner Charles Ramsey asked the Department of Justice to review police-involved shootings. Across the river in Camden, New Jersey, the department operates a community policing model to better partner with residents and improve interactions and trust.

Ward said he doesn't expect the sign maker to come forward because "they hung the sign in the middle of the night like a true coward."

He added that anyone is entitled to share their opinion and that he hopes they will "prove him wrong" by coming to the police station for a discussion.

2 Feet of Water Floods Fox Chase Homes

A rush of brown water flooded homes in Philadelphia's Fox Chase neighborhood Monday evening when a water main burst.

Water started gushing down the 800 block of Hartel Avenue between 5 and 6 p.m., neighbors tell NBC10.

Some homeowners said they had two feet of standing water in their houses. The break also caused the street to buckle.

Iva Riepen had a garage filled with family photos and keepsakes she and her husband collected over the years. Now, they're likely destroyed.

"A lot of pictures are floating around down there," she said. "A lot of things that meant a lot to us were in there."

Firefighters were dispatched to try and turn off the flow as the Philadelphia Water Department was called. The department is investigating.

Beloved Abington Store Clerk Lives to Tell About Robbery, Shooting

Charlie Miller is keenly aware that a malfunctioning handgun was the only thing that stood between him and death in the wee hours of April 5.

Miller, 67, a longtime store clerk and a pillar of his Montgomery County neighborhood of North Hills, in Glenside, Abington Township, found himself face-to-face with a masked gunman who came in to rob the 7-Eleven on Limekiln Pike where he works about 1:35 a.m. that morning.

The gunman shot Miller during the course of the robbery. But Miller lived to tell it, and found himself hailed a hero on Monday night at a community town hall meeting in North Hills, steps from the 7-Eleven, hosted by township Commissioner Steve Kalinoski, Abington Police Deputy Chief John Livingood and other local officials.

Miller was among about 50 concerned community members from North Hills, Ardsley and the surrounding areas who attended the meeting at the Edge Hill Fire Company to hear about an arrest made in the shooting and another recent robbery of the same store that police are investigating. When Livingood recognized him, calling him a hero, Miller's neighbors gave him a hearty round of applause.

After the meeting, Miller recounted the moments of terror he faced inside that 7-Eleven, where he worked for a decade. He said he was stocking shelves when he looked up to find a handgun six inches from his face and a man with a cloth over his face and no intention of leaving empty-handed.

"So I swiped it away," said Miller, a soft-spoken but scrappy man with kind eyes who walks with a cane now and wears a baseball cap bearing his name.

The robber headed toward the cash register -- which Miller had locked when he went to stock shelves -- and Miller followed close behind. That's when the robber turned on him, firing one bullet into his upper leg.

"Once I did hear the shot and heard the crack of bone ... my first reaction was to get up," Miller recounted. "But the first thing I thought was, keep your head down because the last thing you need is a head shot."

And that's what he said the robber seemed to be angling for: Miller said the man fired another shot at him and missed, then went to fire a third when the gun jammed. He ultimately took off with nothing.

Police identified Miller's accused shooter, who they said is suspected in three other nearby robberies, as Lamar Sowell, of Philadelphia, and said he worked as a security guard at Cheltenham Mall until police linked him to the crimes. Livingood said officers found the gun used to shoot Miller in Sowell's home and arrested him not long after the shooting. Sowell is now jailed and charged with attempted murder, illegal gun possession, robbery and related offenses.

Livingood told relieved residents Monday night that federal prosecutors are considering taking on the case, which would mean the man who terrorized their community would be behind bars for decades. If they don't, he vowed to push for a stiff penalty at the local level.

Abington Police said Sowell is suspected in three additional robberies: one Dec. 9 of the same 7-Eleven, one Nov. 26 at the 7-Eleven on the 200 block of Easton Road in Cheltenham Township and another Dec. 5 at the Sunoco about a block away, also on Easton Road in Cheltenham Township.

But just when police locked Sowell up and thought they'd put the armed robberies behind the community, Livingood told residents Monday night, someone else robbed the same 7-Eleven on Limekiln Pike at gunpoint just before 11 p.m. on May 23. Livingood said the most recent incident had nothing to do with Sowell's alleged spree, and assured them a police K-9 found two valuable pieces of evidence nearby that he's confident will help them find the latest robber: a long wig and the shirt he wore during the robbery.

He said Abington Police are running directed patrols in the area to keep an eye out and make sure no more robberies happen, and that they have plans to meet with 7-Eleven supervisors to work on making the store a less desirable robbery target.

"Trust me when I tell you that we are keeping an extra check on that," Livingood said.

As for Miller, who moved to Abington Township from Allentown in the 1970s, there's a long road ahead. He'll have to undergo physical therapy for two to four months to help him heal, he said.

For now, though, Miller's just happy to be alive. He grinned as several neighbors stopped by to wish him well and said he's glad the police got his alleged shooter off the street.

"We're coming up on summer, and there are a lot of kids," he said. "The last thing we need is someone in that mental state packing a gun."

Abington Police are still searching for the person responsible for the May 23 robbery. If you have information, contact Abington Police at 267-536-1100, ext. 3.

Police in New Jersey are searching for a 5-year-old girl believed to have been taken by her mother.

Passaic prosecutors and police are asking for the public's help locating Valentina Manzueta and her 32-year-old mother, Cecilia Manzueta, both of Passaic.

They were last seen at the Holiday Inn located at 450 Route 1 & 9 South in Newark, prosecutors say.

Manzueta drives a white four-door 2016 Honda Accord with temporary license plate no. L516472.

Prosecutors say the disappearance seems to have stemmed from a domestic disagreement between the girl's parents and don't believe the girl is in danger, but urge the public to contact Passaic Police at 973-365-3900 with any information.
