Two robbery suspects took a woman's purse then dragged her through a shopping center parking lot then tried using her credit cards for whitening strips and razors, police said.

The suspects pulled their car up to a woman on her way to her car after shopping at the TJ Maxx at the Gateway Shopping Center on E Swedesford Road in Tredyffrin Township, Pennsylvania around 8:15 p.m. Thursday. Once close, they pulled her bag, and when she tried to refuse, they dragged her for a while, according to Police.

The victim suffered injuries to her face and body, said police.

The car was last seen exiting the complex near the Mobil gas station, said investigators.

The woman's credit cards were then used at Malvern Target and Wegmans store in an attempt to buy Crest White Strips and razor blades, said police. The cards were also used about 90 minutes later at a Lancaster County Turkey Hill store.

Police surveillance footage revealed images of the vehicle -- an older model, blue or turquoise car with a gray bumper and loud exhaust -- used in the robbery as well as one of the suspects --a 6-foot-tall man in his late teens to early 20s with a light beard and mustache that wore a gray "CALI" T-shirt, blue baseball cap with three stars on it, black sweatpants and white sneakers, said police.

Police described the other suspect as a male in his teens or early 20s with blond hair and a thin mustache.

Police asked anyone with information to contact Det. Dan McFadden at dmcfadden@tredyffrin.org or 610-408-3649.

Moms 'Nurse-In' at Montco Y That Shunned Breastfeeding Woman

Local moms gathered for a "nurse-in" Wednesday at a Montgomery County YMCA where a woman says employees hassled her for breastfeeding her son earlier this week.

The nurse-in participants met at 10 a.m. at the Spring Valley YMCA in Limerick. Local mom Kate Haslam told NBC10 on Tuesday that she brought her 19-month-old son, West, to the Y for a toddler gym class Monday morning and stopped to nurse him in the classroom.

The nurse-in started outside, but the Y invited them in to nurse in their lobby.  YMCA officials have said that Haslam's experience was a misunderstanding.

As she nursed West, Haslam said, an employee of the Y told her she needed to move elsewhere to breastfeed because she was making other people in the class uncomfortable. Haslam said two more employees eventually got involved, one even going as far as to tell her she needed to nurse in the locker room.

YMCA President and CEO Shaun Elliott said the incident was a miscommunication, however, and that Haslam was asked to move because she was sitting on a balance beam that kids in the class needed to use.

A young boy found his father’s loaded gun inside his book bag while in school.

The boy’s father, who works as a security guard and has a permit to carry, told police he was rushing to put out the trash Wednesday morning and placed his gun inside his son’s bag but forgot that he put it there. He then dropped his son off at Grover Cleveland Mastery Charter School in the Tioga section of Philadelphia.

The boy, who is a second-grade student, was in class when he discovered the weapon inside his bag. The boy told his teacher who removed the gun and notified police. No one was hurt during the incident. Officials at the school later sent a letter notifying parents.

Police told NBC10 the entire ordeal appears to be a “bad mistake” but no charges will be filed.

Transgender Woman: I Was Harassed, Told to Leave NJ McD's

A Delaware transgender woman says she was harassed and told to leave a Gloucester County McDonald’s after she used the women's restroom.

Misty Hill, 42, of Wilmington, Delaware, told NBC10 she was using the women’s restroom at a McDonald’s in Paulsboro, New Jersey Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. Hill, who says she transitioned and has been living as a woman for a little over a year, told NBC10 she was wearing cargo pants and didn’t have any makeup on when she used the restroom.

“Usually I wear a skirt and makeup,” Hill said. “When you’re trans you have to decide, ‘Do I spend 20 minutes doing my makeup or do I possibly face harassment?'”

As Hill used the bathroom, she says she was followed by the restaurant’s manager.

“The female manager followed me in and when I was in the stall she asked if a gentleman was in,” Hill said.

Hill says she told her she was a woman. She then claims the manager came back inside about a minute later and asked her once again if she was a man.

“She said, ‘you don’t belong here,’” Hill said.

Hill told NBC10 she then left the bathroom and once again told the manager she was a woman and even tried to show her driver’s license to prove it.

“I attempted to show her my driver’s license and she refused to look at it,” Hill said. “She crossed her arms, refused to take it.”

In earlier conversations she claimed the manager threatened to call police but in a later conversation with NBC10 she said that she was only asked to leave the eatery.

Hill says she then shared her story on her Twitter page while still inside the restaurant. She also reached out to McDonald’s via Twitter and called the company’s corporate headquarters before leaving. So far she says she hasn’t received any official response.

“I received no apology,” Hill said.

NBC10 reached out to the manager of the Paulsboro McDonald's. The manager told us she never harassed Hill, never told her to leave and never threatened to call police. Instead, she says she was trying to address the concerns of another customer.

“There was a little girl going to the bathroom,” the manager said. “She [Hill] started talking to a little girl. The girl got scared and told her mom and her mom told me.”

The manager says she then spoke with Hill after she came out of the bathroom.

“I would never disrespect or discriminate against anyone,” the manager said. “I never actually said she couldn’t use the bathroom. I just told her she was making the customers uncomfortable. I just wanted to make sure everything was fine as far as her not being a full-grown man.”

The manager also claimed she didn’t refuse to look at Hill’s driver’s license and that Hill showed it to her without her even asking.

“I was just addressing the concern of a customer,” the manager said. “Whatever your personal preference is, I don’t care but some people do. We don’t want to lose customers so we have to try to appease everyone.”

Hill later responded to the manager’s comments and said she never spoke with a young girl as the manager claimed and that she never saw a little girl in the restroom.

"There was no little girl in the restroom, there was nobody else in that restroom when the manager came in and harassed me repeatedly," said Hill.

"Never did I have any sort of interaction with any child."

“I took absolutely no action that would make anyone uncomfortable,” Hill said.

Hill told NBC10 she plans on taking legal action and hopes to have access to surveillance video, which she says will prove she was harassed and discriminated against.

New Jersey currently does not have any legislation on the legal rights of transgender people to access public bathrooms, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

However, the state's anti-discrimination law does prohibit restaurants, hotels and other businesses who serve the general public from withholding accommodations to a person based on their gender identity.

The Highland Park school district in New Jersey recently unanimously passed a policy allowing students to use bathrooms and participate in school programs based on their gender identity.

NBC10 reached out to the McDonald’s corporate office for comment. We have not yet heard back from them.

Memorial Day Weekend Warmup Continues

IF YOU THINK IT IS HOT ALREADY, JUST WAIT!
We’ve seen a tremendous jump in temperatures since Saturday. Here are the official high temperatures in Philadelphia:

Saturday: 62

Sunday: 66

Monday: 76

Tuesday: 83

Wednesday: 88

The average (or “normal”) high for this time of year is 77. So we’ve gone from 15 degrees below normal to about 15 degrees above normal (once we get to the predicted 92).

BUT AT LEAST IT’S NOT HUMID-YET
Relative humidity dropped to only 19% Wednesday afternoon, which is extremely low for this part of the country. For those who follow dewpoints, it was around 40. By Friday, the afternoon dewpoint should be around 60, or even higher. That would make the relative humidity closer to 40%. That’s still not up to July levels, but pretty close.

(Relative humidity is just that-relative-to the temperature. So, in the afternoon, when it gets most uncomfortable, the relative humidity is the lowest. That’s very confusing. And that’s why we normally don’t use relative humidity on TV. The dewpoint is much more consistent from day to night)

SHOWER CHANCES INCREASE TOWARD MONDAY
There isn’t any day of the weekend (Friday through Monday), when the chance of rain is zero. But it’s pretty low Friday and Saturday, and then it goes up Sunday. By Memorial Day itself, showers become likely. But even then, it’s not a washout. Here are the forecast weather maps for those days:

The maps show a generally dry pattern Friday, with HIGH pressure well offshore (the “Bermuda High”). That means a wind flow from the south, which will result in sea breezes at the shore, keeping temperatures much lower than those inland. The green in the rain area, but it doesn’t mean it’ll be raining everywhere at any given time Monday.

A man with what appeared to be a large large amount of crack cocaine on him appeared to be targeted after parking his girlfriend’s car overnight.

Someone opened fire on the 34-year-old man after he got out of the car along Angora Terrace, not far from S 57th Street and Baltimore Avenue, in Philadelphia’s Kingsessing neighborhood around 1 a.m. Thursday.

The shooter or shooters appear to have "targeted" the victim as he got out of the car with his girlfriend, said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. The man collapsed between two parked cars with a gunshot wound to his head.

Police rushed the man – who apparently had a large amount of crack on him – to Presbyterian Hospital in extremely critical condition, said Small.

Investigators found at least 15 shell casings littering the street and found bullet holes in some parked cars, said Small.

After the shooting, investigators took two men inside a minivan in for questioning. No word yet on any arrests.

The Plan to Rescue Atlantic City

$

New Jersey lawmakers are set to vote on an Atlantic City rescue package to keep the struggling resort town from running out of money.

The Democrat-led Assembly and Senate have scheduled votes for Thursday on a package of bills to help the city.

Republican Gov. Chris Christie says he'll decide quickly whether to sign or veto the legislation. Christie says it contains the authority that he has been seeking, but he declined to say Wednesday if he supports the deal.

The legislation gives the city five months to come up with a plan to balance budgets over five years.

The deal eliminates, for now, the threat of a state takeover, and resolves a nasty political fight that has raged since January and pushed the resort ever closer to bankruptcy.
